@Mentos No, unfortunately. I don't know him/her that well so that's all they shared with me. They did say that the actual script was great though. (and I trust their judgement).

@Snorkelbottom: I'm a big Monty Python fan. Now every time I read a post from you I'll be hearing John Cleese. As for the story line... Ehhh... Sorry to disappoint but it sounds less than epic to me. It's all been done before. I sure hope the SJ's aren't friendly... Not ever. Just void of conscience and totally badass. The beginning sounds about right, but I don't think anyone (any human) survives to return.

Yer this would explain why the suit would fit Shaw. But like I said before the thing in Alien is huge not petite like Shaw.

Well, I think you'll have to look elsewhere for oxygen! Good effort however.

I agree, and even said the same thing in the thread with Shaw in the hallway and suits/statues behind her.

@Rakkasan, sorry I must have missed that. If it was the thread about 4 SJs behind Shaw, then yeah I deliberately avoided that one having debated the same scene on another thread preceding that one.
Yer this would explain why the suit would fit Shaw. But like I said before the thing in Alien is huge not petite like Shaw.
@Hukerlover, not quite following you brother. Seem to be contradicting yourself - please can you elaborate. Do you mean the exit wound is too big to have come out of Shaw and through the SJ suit?

@Starbeast what i ment was the SJ/SUIT in Alien was huge if Shaw gets into yhe suit how come it fits her ah hang on a mo MUTATION

RakkasanPrometheus ForumSJ is a suit, but tall blue guy is also a suit
@ Starbeast No worries I was just trying to point out we had a similar thought, but you had the initiative to start a thread on it. If I understand Hukerlover what is meant is that if the suit conforms to the body then Shaw could not be the one that wore it and became the SJ in Alien. If the suit shrinks to fit then she is too small to be the SJ.
Reply
StarbeastPrometheus ForumSJ is a suit, but tall blue guy is also a suit
But what I'm thinking guys is the suit doesn't shrink but actually fills in the gaps - i dunno like with nerve endings that kinda wrap around the wearer like cotton wool sort of. A cross between the loader suit from Aliens and the avatar suits from Avatar - if you get me. Lol, I'm trying my best to keep this theory afloat.

Now I am tracking. Since you put it that was yes, it makes perfect sense. So I understand, when Shaw gets in the suit it internally modifies itself to fit her, but externally remains the same size. Is that right?
Reply
StarbeastPrometheus ForumSJ is a suit, but tall blue guy is also a suit
Exactly! So there's no physiological changes needed on the human or any wearer, no mutation necessary either. It'll probably end up a million miles from the truth but it's fascinating trying to connect these dots!

That would be amazing. Although Scott did mention he is only make "2" prequels, so we'll see. But "3" would be freaking amazing. The most exciting thing is that Scott is bringing Alien in to the 21st century, bringing the series in areas we could of only dreamed of 15 years ago. I'm really excited. Prometheus is dusting off the series and breathing new life into it. The Alien Legacy has been hidden in cans from modern day society for a decade and a half and now with the infamous hand of Ridley Scott and H.R. Giger we are returning back to the horror and epicness that started a series 33 years ago. Prometheus is going to rock our worlds!

From a studio point of view it makes sense to earmark a new trilogy, but I'm pretty sure - as debated in a previous thread - Sir Ridley meant he was trying/having to squeeze 2 sequels into 1 movie. This may be contradictory to the natural studio position but may be not became it clears the way for a new story for the sequel to the prequel. But were there to be a sequel, I don't know if Sir Ridley would be directing because I can't remember him ever doing a sequel - even to his own film. Furthermore - and my apologies for being so morbid - it would be around 3 years down the line when/if a sequel got made, but Sir Ridley is into his 70s...

Yeah, I mean Ridley is in his 70's. He obviously cant wait another 33 years to do another prequel or sequel. But if he is infact trying to squeeze in 2 prequels into one movie I have no doubt that he will succeed. It honestly would be neat though to see him spread the story out and either go back even further before Prometheus or extend it into its own trilogy of sorts. Alien, Aliens, Alien 3 and Alien Resurrection if you look at it could be one "string" of the entire Alien universe. Thats "Ripley's" story. But there could also be other stories told later on down the road that incorporate their own story in the same universe, revolving around different characters, new locations and a whole different threat/bio-weapon that the Space Jockey's created.

Ridley is going to make a great film regardless of if its one or two films (hopefully two films, three I would go crazy). He knows how to make and perfect them. Ripley Clone 8, you have a great point. There could be so many different stories in that universe, the possibilities are endless.

I don't think you can squeeze 2 prequels into a single film. Although it would be totally awesome to see two story lines in the same film that conclude similarly. One with the the one crash shown in Prometheus and the second being the derelict on LV-426. It could be the reason why there are two human ships named in the movie. They could have found two destinations in the map room. There are ALOT of what looks like star systems in there. Two ships twice the prize. (I think i stole that from one of my other posts)

We can all agree here that "Prometheus" will be the pinnacle of Scott's film making. Also, Prometheus will be Scott's redefinition of the "Alien" universe....I am looking to walk into the theater and just be in awe....just dumb founded by what I am seeing and I know Scott will do that....

I completely agree 20th. When a movie, like Prometheus and use limited CGI, it usually works out better. But CGI has come along way. I prefer the real thing. @cain1977 The movie industry has missed Stan. He was great! We all miss him.

ive seen so much cgi that when i saw the queen alien it was amazing to me because it was real..right there in the flesh live in the shot...the puppeteers made amazingly realistic movement and the puppet itself looked great even better than the jurassic park velociraptors almost a decade later. personally i think cgi is extremely overrated it works amazing when used to make say a t rex run at night or in the rain but i think golem looked like crap and was unimpressive and i think the characters in avatar were still not that great looking...cgi will probably be worthy of all its hype in say 15 to 20 years..i think then it will start to enter the domain of photorealism but so far its still overrated...the fact is the queen alien is real and its just awesome how terrifying it is. there is a shot at the end with the powerloader on top of the queen and its a top down into the airlock and the queen is flailing its arms, legs, and tail and it looks like a real living creature

20CB, Current Ancient Astronaut theory regarding the pyramids is they were electrical power plants designed to produce power and transmit it through the ground to obelisks that would in turn power small lights and etc in homes through the air. There is some basis in fact on this with Tesla's inventions that the government has so kindly removed all of Tesla's notes and Regards, Rick

Yup....in the article, they spoke with Scott and they are using some of Prometheus in the game, with the use of the derelict ship as stated....so we have a year to see that now or maybe it will get a sooner release but time will tell.

@20thcenturybuick Trust me, 2013 is a lot closer than you think, baring that they don't delay the game again. Gameinformer first advertised this game on their cover in the March 2008 issue. I know because I still have the issue. I, and I am sure a lot more people, have been waiting a long time for this game. Hopefully they don't delay anymore. It was supposed to come out this spring but now I guess next year. The game does look great and with all the delays, hopefully it becomes a great one!

seriously looking forward to this game. I dont play many games regularly but this is one IP that i'll jump back on a console for. aliens has to be the most influential film when it comes to first person shooter games. I even read that the original doom engine was developped with the intention of ID doing an aliens licensed game :)

Damn, I'm REALLY looking forward to this game but Jan 2013.... -____- I've been following this games development and last time I checked it was out for a release in March of 2012. Its a shame they changed it AGAIN. HUH..I JUST checked Amazon and the release date is for March 31st 2012. Are you sure about that 2013 date?
