on a semi-non related topic I am curious...has the idea that one earth ship from each country on earth could have been sent into space from earth and that Prometheus may just be the one that represents the United States or Britian ?

i agree with raakasan very well expressed perfect grammar and english.. if you don´t like a post there is no need to be harsh unless it offends with religious or sexual comments by the way frantz english is perfect. The law here is that everyone post what they want, the law of us gives reedom of speech!!! and by the way many occidental countries too!!!

@ Spartacus A very interesting idea. We are making all kinds of assumptions based off of very little information. It would be within Scott's directing style to have that kind of spin.

Hi @Biomechanic, @Rakkasan, @Frantz, @mendi I appreciate your answers and your attention event if the subject resulted a bit awful. @Frantz and @Biomechanic are right I posted one topic twice I tried to remove the repeated discussion but apparently you are not able to do so. So It gave the impression of abandonment because i focuses (wrongly) in answer just one of the two forums. @Rakkansan is right, a poor thread will (not) care take of itself so that's why I tried to make any post reading worthy. @mendi, I think Is good to have a good balance of this and I appreciate your support. However I work as a Programmer and I heavly rely on technical forums that very often solve you most of the problems that the official documentation of the product doesn't. So it seems reasonable as @Frantz and @Biomechanic state that is better to post in an adequate way but like @mendi told, without goint to repress the freedom of expression.

Well first of all a web forum does not have a constitution like a country and there is no guarantee of inalienable rights like the freedom of speech. We are all guests here and are expected to act appropriately and respect the other members. The owner of this site can ban, bar or erase anything they want at will and for any reason.

wow I was thinking that this whole thing may even be bigger than any of us imagined 1st of all Frants posted once that this film will be 190 minutes long that is 3 hours and ten minutes. if true, and I doubt it but if it is that long than my idea would seem even more plausible and here is what I thought up Lets say this film spends much more time than I think it will doing EXACTLY WHAT RIDLEY SAYS IT DOES...feature a crew from earth looking for the origins of life and finding something much more dangerous instead... what if, at some point near the end of the film, earth itself, all of earth is summoned under specific terms to attend a meeting of all known beings to the space jockey/engineer race, or whatever race is even bigger than them or vice-versa, but because they have an acute understanding of earth politics, they tell us, for each different continent or different culture, and so that everyone on earth can understand whats going to go down, has to send a ship to represent their people back on earth at this summit. Maybe not exactly the scenario I am stating but somehow I think we may see a much broader thing here than any of us imagined yet maybe the derelict crashing is an outgrowth of all the people of earth and these beings we discover in space coming to some sort of universal understanding which could be good or evil...maybe they are telling us life as we knew it is now over and every being has to report to be assimilated into their culture, or maybe they are suggesting terms for all of us to work together in peace and harmony and still maintain our own. who knows but somehow I was wondering how would all of earth ever be represented properly in this if an British or American ship is depicted in the film, perhaps Prometheus is just one of what becomes many many more later on in the film.

either way I think I hit two little somethings at least... somehow it seems to me that more of earth has to be involved than just one ship from the USA or Britian, and... The last R-rated scfi action movie that I remember is MATRIX RELOADED. I couldn't quite see how RELOADED could get R, little F-words, CGI violence, no explicit gore, some tit flashes, and a soft core sex scene. Does it not seem a little hypocritical to say in one senctence how great a director Scott is, and then in the other how a PG-13 rating will ruin the movie or de-value it somehow? I will rely on Scott's genious that if he is "directed" to make a PG-13 cut, then he will be able to do so in such a fashion that we will not even see the difference or care. Afterall some of these posts allude to the possibility that any movie that is not R rated must not be any good. That's just insane.

And people really think that Ridley Scott is a director that can be influenced ? I think hes the director with less gore or sex in all the career and still he did awesome movies ... imagine Bladerunner with a sex scene between deckard and rachel =movie destroyed imagine a more gruesome death of Dallas in Alien = pathos destroyed an incest scene between Commodus and the sister = ridicolous movie like the casual sex they did put in Game of Thrones to appeal the generic ( stupid ) male from 17 to 49 ....atrocious ...it almost ruin a great fiction .

i agree "love scenes" are never necessary and they just ruin the flow of the narrative.

Sir Ridley allegedly wanted a budget of 300 million US dollars - now for that kind of money, damn straight the studio would insist on a PG-13. Fortunately, I believe they met more half way - still a sizeable sum of money but at least allows for the possibility that the studio may be persuaded to release an R-rated cut. Warning from history: The Terminator was released with an R-rating. Terminator Salvation was released with a PG-13 rating. Let's hope history doesn't repeat itself.

We all make the assumption that a human is mutated/evolved/transformed into something that is or could be a sj. What if the sj's were performing experiments on their own kind and this is the result? Whether the experiment was intentional or by accident I cannot say, but just postulating a different theory.

well in alien and aliens the xenomorphs clearly cocoon their victims for implantation..the scene in which dallas was cocooned was cut from the first film, but yeah thats a definite sign of the xenomorphs

The article is not saying that these masks have facehuggers on them.. The article states that they have images of the new "creature" (dare I call it by another name) that has a top portion that "screams facehugger". Then the article goes on to say "Now a similar design does feature in the trailer".. and they go on about the masks that they show.. They are not saying that these trunks are facehuggers..

YO as a intense fan, What makes me excited is my progative. Thus if i pay 11.00$ dollars too see a film in which i enjoy i have every right too applaud the enviroment of such film. Thus is their is a rape/inpregantion scene i will cheer this on. Because it would almost set a "main stream movie precendent" seeing such a scene in a BOX-OFFICE film. Rob Zomibe house of 1000 corpses had too be "scale down" cuz production company didnt like the full versions of RAPE SCENES along with wearing dead skin. Watch the movie if u do know its premise! I''ll tell u what though. The Village was good until everything turned out to be fake. Which took away the fear of the unknown which made it a waste of time for me. Fear is what I miss, being unable to know who to trust. What is out there in the middle night. I love The Thing, the 1982 one. Because you are in the middle of nowhere with people you can’t trust. Out of a handful of movies that I saw, Devil was better. I’m not saying it was the best, but better then the other stuff I saw. ------------------------------------ brilliant comment, I loved what you wrote!!! Weaver was to be naked, then raped, then her head bitten off, and then the alien was going to sit down in her chair and communicate with earth in her voice. The 2 Paintings Giger first made...and which INSPIRED ALL OF THIS...THE ENTiRE FRANCHISE...Necronomicon #4 and Necronomicon #5 depict Aliens committing Rape !!! I have to agree with Spartacus on this. I think there is plenty of evidence most of the posters here want to see some sort of violence in this film. Clearly you can find support in the thread where everyone is hoping for an R rating. Now you all seem appalled by a person who describes what violence they wants to see? Seems a bit hypocritical to me. Please explain what makes your favorite brand of fictional violence more palatable than USHBUCK's. Do you enjoy it when aliens ram their 2nd mouth into someones flesh but draw the line at an unwanted touch of someones breast? Do you like it when the alien cocoons men, women and children just to be the victims of oral rape by a mobile penis but fret when a character doesn't take no for an answer on a date ? Would you get up and walk out if Holloway forces Shaw to do something she doesn't want to do but can't get enough of Kane being torn apart from the inside out? At least he sounds like he is able to differentiate fiction from reality something I think a lot of people here have a hard time doing.
