Love SciFiAlien: Earth ForumNoah Hawley speaks on Alien: Earth timeline – eventually connecting to ALIENS too?!

Are they ever going to get their stories straight? Are they ever going to answer questions in the movies and shows and stop making the fans wait years without even getting an answer?

Love SciFiAlien: Earth ForumFinal Verdict: What Alien fans thought of Alien: Earth Season 1

The whole Wendy storyline is pathetic. It has to go. The boy genius could have any storyline and be interesting. Wendy who wants to be called Marcy and then Wendy and then to rule, LOL! needs to go. The focus should be on the monsters. How come Ripley knew nothing about the Earth being attacked by monsters before her trip?

"Try Harder" – yes please. I hope for season 2 they bring on new writers that, I found that to be my biggest gripe. So many open ends and inconsistencies. I also feel the cast was too large, keeping it more intimate make the deaths more impactful. None of the main characters died... Literally everyone is still there at the end.

I also agree it felt very B-movie but I took it a bit more personal, to me it felt very disrespectful. Scott and Giger created a masterful beast and atmosphere that's inspired countless stories and films since. James Cameron wanted to give his own take on it but still respected the source material and adapted his ideas in a tasteful, respectful way. Noah Hawley literally said he sees the Xenomorph as a cockroach... a cockroach?! Gtfo

I desperately wanted to enjoy this show and there were moments I did enjoy, set pieces, Morrow and Kirsh being about it. T. Ocellus as well – saved it in some ways. But overall it felt like a complete disregard for our intelligence as viewers and disrespect for our beloved franchise as fans.

First, I’m an OG Alien fan. I saw Ridley Scott’s “Alien” in 1979, on my 20th birthday, and it was a game changer. Mixing horror with SciFi was brilliant. Fast forward to 2025. The storyline was good, not great. I enjoyed the premise of different alien species being collected. The one thing that didn’t sit well with me was a synthetic being able to communicate with a Xenomorph, almost “pet like”. I will rewatch this again over the winter, but it’s not something I’d purchase in physical media form. When I really, really enjoy something, it’s added to my 4K and Bluray collections. This will not be.

Agreed – I enjoyed the expansion of alien species and the attempt at diving deeper into Weyland-Yutani lore, but the execution was fumbled by horrible writing and sub-par acting, having children inhabit Synth bodies was a mistake imo. The best episode in the series was Episode 5 and it's cause there were no children Synths and it took place on a familiar looking ship and borrowed heavily from what worked in Alien.

Overall I expected more and have no intention of ever adding this to my collection, sadly. I really wanted to like it, kept holding out that the finale would deliver. I was disappointed.

You're correct, Hawley favors a synth story line above all else. You'll either enjoy it or hate it. There's not much in between on this one. It definitely feels like the reception is more positive than Covenant and even Prometheus but much like them, those that hate it really hate it. Overall it's another highly divisive Alien entry. Pretty normal at this rate lol. I'm curious how people will feel about it ten years down the line especially if it doesn't get a second season.

Interesting, I haven't watched it since I don't have the channel where it's on. Unfortunately it seems like a lot of it is about androids and I'm not interested in that. Maybe I would prefer it over the prequels if I would watch it, it's possible.

🚨 Rant Warning 🚨

I tried to like it, to look past all the glaring issues, the horrible writing and the painstaking stupidity among the characters. To see something so utterly amazing I'd forget all this just for the moment. Only, there was nothing. No real interesting characters, no sense of dread, no convincing threat, no tension, no adrenaline and no compelling drama whatsoever. A Xenomorph that's practically stripped of all its terror which in itself dragged the show down considerably. Endless useless citations to Peter Pan's adventures and symbolism that never hits the mark because nothing is ever engaging to begin with, and throwbacks and references to the older films sprinkled all over it like a bunch of confectioners who fail so miserably at baking cakes but try to cover it up with half-hearted toppings. It's inedible. A complete cringefest. I would even....

And yeah, Wendy has been given way too much power and control over things. A character like this is never entertaining to watch. She as a character is interesting in few episodes but the script was not creative enough. Cheesy phrases and grunge/metal music at the end does not help also.

Very very poor ending. I had hopes till episode 5. Then it all collapsed because the script was basically garbage. Kirsh as one the key players, intelligent as he was portrayed in first episodes, was an character that could've been more misterious and I was expecting him to have his agenda/deal with WY, but they went really cheap and cheesy. He was way way too naive and stupid in the finale, like it was not him. So the script is very contradicting as well imho.

Xenomorph as a dog does not work. Like wth, seriously?

I just hope we get to see Ridley do his movie to end Davids story.

Not sure the demo is a pet. I am thinking more another sibling or ally.

They didn't show up until after Marcy became Wendy. They are not siblings.

This was the most underwhelming finale in history. The series should be called Peter Pan or something, the Alien is literally a pet here. And only present so the series could be called Alien. Give him a leash already. And thanks for nothing with Ocellus, such potential there, and then - nothing.

This show sucks. There was one good episode and that is when they used it to show the aliens. Hate Marcy/Wendy. When they show her salivating mouth close up making clicking sounds, I want to throw something at my TV. She's a kid in an adult body and she can beat aliens, beat robots, control an alien that invaded Earth, control switches, control electricity, want to do harm to the brother who loved her, caused the xenomorph to kill the soldiers and the officers who were protecting her, and  I'm supposed to like this character along with her psycho red headed friend and the males who are the dumbest of the lot. The kid was even hateful and wanted to kill the scorpion that was contained. She didn't suddenly turn mean.  I hate this show and it is more than a disappointment. It sucks! Get rid of the lost boys, especially Marcy/Wendy, the woman who was their caretaker, her stupid husband and let's see some alien backstory without the idiot storyline of kids doing what marines couldn't do in t he movies.

I haven't watched Ep8 yet but seems everyone is disliking it.  Now I am worry about future development. : (

Whether people liked the show or not, FX have already ordered a second season and the show did perform very well for Hulu and Disney, so a second season is going to happen. Look at the Halo series - it was garbage and it got renewed for more than one season lol.

Ooof, I wanted to love the show so much but it wasn't great. I probably won't be watching season 2, maybe for Kirsh if he's still in it, who knows. Right now I am not interested in watching any more of the show.

ChrisAlien: Earth ForumFinal Verdict: What Alien fans thought of Alien: Earth Season 1

Just finished the season finale... and I have to say, overall, I am disappointed.

The writing throughout this series is just bad. I'm all for supporting new projects and I'm thrilled Disney even greenlit an Alien series but come on... this show is not very good.

Things I didn't like:

First of all, way to convenient that Wendy can just magically control every aspect of the facility. And if she can control all the synths why did she spend any time fighting Atom when she could just "use the force" and pause him instantly. It's an inconsistent plot device that only conveniently used to explain away lazy storytelling.

There's absolutely no reason for the lights to have started flickering. No self destruction warning, no fuses blew... its an iconic element to the aesthetics of Alien movies but for the sake of making sense... it should've made sense.

The "Stay Frosty" line made me cringe so hard. It actually beat Andy's "Stay away from her you bitch" line from Romulus. So misplaced, so corny.

The Xenomorph looks like trash and should never be shown in daylight. And I loathe the fact it's basically Wendy's erand boy.

I was really anticipating more from this season finale but it ended on such a low note for me.

Things I liked:

The Plumbicare is badass and I loved seeing it finally in action.

T Ocellus survived, he was the real star of the show.

It's over. Lol.

Any gripes people had about Prometheus or Covenant pale in comparison to the flaws this show present. I really don't wish to be negative, but I'm just being realistic. Just cause an Alien series exists doesn't mean we have to fangirl and praise it for existing.

They were so preoccupied with wondering if they could, they never thought to consider if they should.

That's my opinion anyway, if you guys enjoyed it I'm glad. I just have way higher standards for this franchise. I'm disappointed, they could have done so much more with it.

I agree though if i have to guess Kavalier is going to have the Ocellus take over Dame Silvia, maybe Curly, Kirsh or even Morrow. Morrow has a swollen eye in the teaser for the finale. Sadly I think the sheep will be abandoned

Nice catch! I totally forgot about sheep in VW's A3 and it's definitely not a coincidence imo as they could've chosen any other animal to become and remain infected in Alien Earth. There's a clear emphasis on the sheep creature in the series. That's what I believe anyway.

Interesting found. And the sheep is really the MVP in this Season 1. It's calm and collected as opposed to the Xeno. I hope Ocellus stays in the sheep body. They are inseparable.

Here's a rundown of the wooden planet from AVPGalaxy. I first laid eyes upon this thing on Alien 3's special features. There's a segment dedicated to the wooden planet where Ward breaks down the plot of his unproduced script and shares some artwork. I initially thought that the sheep xenomorph was going to be his beast lol. Thankfully it wasn't.

I assumed Target 1 meant Arthur and Target 2 was the Chestburster inside him, but I could be wrong.
