Thank you DK for the links!I still think the original Alien has the greatest trailer of all time in my opinion. Also worth pointing out while it's my favorite movie,Aliens trailer gave you almost everything but the queen in it's trailer. It's not a great trailer for such a great film lol.
I agree with the spoilerific advertising.I always thought it was a mistake to show Orum getting face hugged, the shower scene, and the backburster. The backburster of course was hiped to top the original chestburster. If they really wanted that it should have been held back.
sherris Agree. Next time there should be one trailer and nothing else.
trokanmariel The PS3 plays the entire Anthology and spat out Prometheus a couple times at first (but I threatened it with AVPR and it came around), but they all play just fine. But it wanted to replay the pristine AC again by itself. I had to unplug it since I felt unworthy to behold utter perfection twice in the same night.
twitchy double post
I want to see All The Money In The World; especially since I heard that Mr. Plummer is getting nominated after Spacey was pushed out.
Neither Alien nor Alien 3... only the Perfect Blu-ray.
That must mean that the PS3 doesn't play Aliens, Prometheus or Alien Resurrection
It was AC. The PS3 wanted to replay it. You decide.
David installed itself into the ps3 now?
I wonder what Laurence of Arabia thinks right now being the biggest David fan ever.
What movie was that or are they release it to blu-ray or streaming at least?
Does the PS3 refuse to play bad movies?
It was too perfect. My PS3 refused to eject it and automatically restarted the movie so it could have the honor of playing it again. I had to un plug the player to stop the perfection.
I think this simply mean the John LOgan David sequel has been cancelled. Studios know very well that every recent A.I. centered film has bombed. Universal just got one that didn't even got past the test screenings and was pulled from theaters. There is no way the studios can get a massive audience excited about a movie like that. I think this is godd news and hope other projects will be developed.
As disappointing as this all sounds, still not confirmed, it seems to be true. Ridley Scott is now working on The Cartel - http://collider.com/ridley-scott-christopher-plummer-all-the-money-in-the-world-interview/
No mention of ALIEN in the linked interview.
Disney certainly seems to be taking control of EVERYTHING, however, the faith of the ALIEN franchise could be determined how well The Predator does August 2018, considering that Disney owns everything associated with both creatures.
I highly doubt Disney will put Alien on ice, and will want to re-coup some of that $52.4B they spent to buy FOX.
Scott has also mentioned that he would rather not work with Disney, alluding to the fact that he's too edgy for Disney, and I couldn't disagree more. Disney is going to tap into the R market, especially with the upcoming Deadpool.
Scott + FOX tried and failed.
@cupernator, have you seen what Disney has down with The Last Jedi. Them taking over Alien will be an abomination. Keep it with Fox/Brandywine.

Yes, I am just reading on this now. They have to adjust the budget and get a solid screenplay if this is to be resurrected in one shape or form. RIP.
more genius ideas with no way of delivering. these combination = epic fail
It's the same as when somebody says that a movie is really bad; perfection is just the opposite
Interesting... I REEEAALLY want some sense of closure to Prometheus and Covenant from Ridley Scott and team. I don't want to see it just stop. Still, I think I would prefer a reboot by Disney as opposed to nothing. This franchise has become one that I wouldn't mind seeing over and over and over. I mean, if a big Holywood studio makes an Alien movie, I will be there. I have loved EVERY one of the six films so far (no matter the glaring flaws!), so I will show up no matter what.
Even if Disney resurrects Blomkamp's Aliens sequel. In fact, Hybrid Network, (on YouTube) posted a video about Blomkamp posting more concept art on intsagram and twitter in the past few days! He captioned one saying that he is, just clearing out all of it. I tihnk he is secretly hoping that Disney to picks it up the same way Fox did.
We'll have to just wait and see what Disney does!
How can something be too perfect anyhow? is it something out of this world communicated from the 7th dimension?
Disney should put the franchise completely to bed; Alien Covenant mustn't have a sequel, because it was too perfect
I hate all the reboot talk. Just give us new stories with new characters, set in the same universe. There is so much left unexplored, we haven't even seen earth yet in the series. Don't throw away established events, just give us something new. After seeing Ridley finish his idea of course. You can't leave the fans hanging like that.
Well, it seems that this is all pretty much legit.
Original trailer:

As with Prometheus, I thought the trailer gave away too much. I enjoyed the movie more than Prometheus.
I think things should go for a less is more approach like 1979:

We were less spoiled back then it seems.
I actually thought everything fox did leading up to the film was first class including the trailers. problem is the trailers and prologues pretty much gave the movie away. plus a lot of things were misleading, none more so than the amazing poster featuring the horror of the engineers being facehugged with xenos all around them. had absolutely nothing to do with the film
on the film itself, first viewing wasn't a great copy so watched a better copy, still sucked. wont watch again.
Pre or post head? Or does it matter?
Pre-production trolling. Misleading us into thinking the film was something that it was not.
Man, Rosenthal is hot in that x-ray hahaha
i guess if you think about it, he did troll Ripley pretty hard
Ripley: This is a maximum security prison, and you have no weapons of any kind?
Andres: We have some carving knives in the abattoir, a few more in the mess hall. Some fire axes scattered about the place - nothing terribly formidable.
Ripley: That's all?
Andrew: We're on the honor system.
Ripley: Then we're fu$ked.
Andrews: No, youre fu$ked!
classic trolling
For starters, here is what actually happenned and is how a character would be more accrately viewed.

sorry double post. Twitchy mouse.

most of the characters were forgettable. I get the biblical symbolism connections in Prometheus but I don't see many in AC. its about David creating organisms and the crew giving him material to experiment on.
I think it all turned out to be a bunch of nothing. Some one may have gotten into a bit of hot water over that too if memory serves.
As Dallas stated, "That's a bunch of horseshit."
LOL. So Andrews may have been a troll of sorts too?
trokanmariel Please explain/elaborate how and why Upworth's and Ricks' roles are so perfect to not warrant a sequel. Remember they were in a prequel. I found those characters quite forgettable and actually nothing more than Xeno fodder to be honest.
I read this as:
"Hello- know that I am a Troll. That said, everything I say is a trolling. Trolling on, many are saying on good authority that there will never be a movie to directly tie to Alien...I am trolling for attention. Troll"
Good job Timmy the Ultramorph!
Bloody hell, all this uncertainty around this great franchise is sad. Someone needs to step up and just own the franchise
trokanmariel don't forget the symbolism of Ankor as Judas, without his actions on Paradise David's plot would have been undone and Ricks and Upworth damned.
good. postpone and take a step back and re-think the direction they want to go in. id rather wait 5 years and get a great movie than the franchise getting hit with another hit or miss prequel. take ur time and do it right rather than rush it I say.
Actually, its the dumbest thing IMDB has come up with. Whoever thought about it, has a two digit IQ.
I mean, first thing, it shouldn't be 'helpfulness'. It should be based on 'agreement'.
It makes sense only if it's 'do you agree with this review?' instead of 'was this review helpful to you?'
When they say 'helpuful', it means that a guy who hasn't seen the movie, reads the review; let's sat that the review was positive one and he goes to watch the movie and he likes the movie. Then, he comes home, logs on to the IMDB website and searches for the review he read out of the many reviews. He might have to recollect the same words and lines and figure out that its the same review he had read. And then click 'Yes' to that review.
The worst part is for negative reviews. If a guy read a negative review and he too disliked the movie, why would he click 'Yes'?. How was that review 'helpful' to him? It would've been helpful only if he doesn't go to see the movie and the review saved his time & money. But again, without seeing the movie, how would he ever know whether or not the film was bad. He then have to search a postive review he read and click 'No'. But what if he never read a positive review? It only works if he liked the movie and clicks 'No' to the bad review.
