CBT1979Prometheus Forumthe space jockey ship still seems derelectJan 17, 2012
Eh, but you do know,
That the space croissant in the prometheus
teaser trailer was exploding and falling from
The sky, and even when rolling around
the planet, it still hold up without
major hull damage.
And the scene with the SJ chair coming
uo, u see a humanoid who might be
a living space jockey without the
infamous suit.
But maybe the derelict was indeed a derelict
but got reactivated through the mutated human
Or a reborn SJ through Shaw.
Reply20thcenturybuickPrometheus Forumthe space jockey ship still seems derelectJan 17, 2012
yeah you do see a ship crashing and exploding and it is a jockey ship...however that human we see while chair is coming up looks small compared to the scale of the jockey and the chair..their scale is much closer to dallas
ReplyArchEtechPrometheus Forumthe space jockey ship still seems derelectJan 17, 2012
suits - confirmed
But the ship does seem just as dead and empty as the derelict from alien, assuming its not the same ship.
ReplyCBT1979Prometheus Forumthe giant face...doesnt it reveal that the jockey's are humanoidJan 17, 2012
Well, it depends on where the giant face
is revealed. On earth or on the
unknown planet where they land?
But since it is obcious, that the
SJ in Alien was only a biomechanic suit,
It really could be a humanoid who look
Similar to humans.
The SJ might be really the blue bold guy
seen in the teaser trailer who looks
quite similar to Seth from StreetFighter IV.
Reply20thcenturybuickPrometheus Forumthe giant face...doesnt it reveal that the jockey's are humanoidJan 17, 2012
no its in space...we see a few shots of them exploring the place while in space suits with their helmets on..thing is the annunaki are depicted as human as well just larger than us....and then yeah there is that large blue guy..the fact is the space jockey suits also reveal that whatever they are they are bipedal, have two arms, two legs
ReplywalterhillerPrometheus Forumthe giant face...doesnt it reveal that the jockey's are humanoidJan 17, 2012
once again, absolutely the lowest analytical skills and deductive powers are being used by the op.
first of all, what makes you think the space jockeys are supposed to represent annunaki?
secondly, if everything the jockeys designed or collected looked like them, how do you explain the alien or the facehugger?
thirdly, don't raise questions with a single sentence. especially when it's based off a bunch of rather dimwitted assumptions.
also, that guy is not the space jockey. it's either another race or a mutant. but it's not the jockey. they already revealed the jockey skull(with cranial suture marks) and it looks exactly how it should. like a non-humanoid.

Possible plot hooks there-all been discussed. Anything is possible at this point. Personally I think it will be more disturbing than any of those ideas.
ReplyFrantzPrometheus ForumAnother rumourJan 17, 2012
well is very plausible ... can be a mix of fake spoilers and ideas but can be also quite true ... i remember some old infos talking about a barren planet ( mars ) and the bald dude can be our "friend" SJs ( we possibily see him in the medical room ) .... .... sound a bit silly but i fear that can be true ....

ReplyCBT1979Prometheus ForumAnother rumourJan 17, 2012
This might be just a rumor, but if it is the
real plot, then my conclusion would be
that the rebel SJ helps the humans
to create a bio weapon which will be
the protoform aliens to fight against
the other SJs. However, the aliens
Have their own instinct and will
and poses also a threat to mankind.
It was so wrong!
ReplyArchEtechPrometheus ForumIs it possible humans are the real evil of Prometheus?Jan 17, 2012
Well gift doesn't necessarily mean the one that you want as to your Santa remark! I wasn't making the assumption that whatever Shaw gets is warm as fuzzy. As a more neutral being perhaps the gift is to get us back on track to other designs. But your right in that my original thought wasn't one of malevolence.
The engineers could also just be burning us like ants with a magnifying glass for the hell of it. Or in more direct movie related terms, infecting humans to see what happens. That seems kind of boring but for sure disturbing.
ReplywalterhillerPrometheus ForumIs it possible humans are the real evil of Prometheus?Jan 17, 2012
i've thought of the sjs as benevolent/neutral simply studying the creatures and perhaps quarantining it...that's until the retardation of aliens by james cameron ruined that effect. but that film doesn't really exist anyway.
but i don't buy the gooey, heart warming and all too cliche "twist" that the aliens were really going to be santa clause, and we ruined that and have to pay the price. nice plot for a twilight zone episode. but this is an adult movie with a profound and original story and has to live up to alien. i don't think they'd take that route.
ReplyCBT1979Prometheus ForumIs it possible humans are the real evil of Prometheus?Jan 17, 2012
Yet mankind has proven to be cruel
In our history. So much hatred, violence,
greed that lead to many wars and
genocides and still going on in
the present.
I csn understand that the SJ would
like to erase us from universe when
they know our violent nature.
My question is, will the xenomorph
bw created by the humans or
by the SJs?

I love how so many are willing to talk shit on Cameron, yet Aliens was a masterpiece and those same people will be in the theater dangling from the sack of Cameron to see his next movie.
ReplywarchildPrometheus ForumIs it possible humans are the real evil of Prometheus?Jan 17, 2012
I read in a recent article that scott said the space jockey was a suit and not a being but its a suit that the 1979 crew thought was a fossil.. Any thoughts on that???

no, i've read reports of the same. either you're all fantasizing or they removed that particular shot. perhaps too revealing or straight forward. but you can deduce a pregnancy scenario from the other snippets in the trailer.

ReplycraigamorePrometheus ForumComic-con 2011 Prometheus Trailer - Questions!Jan 17, 2012
I don't know about the Comic-con trailer, but there were brief shots in the leaked teaser trailer that didn't make the official version. I brought them up in a new topic I titled, "The Forest Through The Trees', but here's an excerpt that might bring light to your question:
"When the official version of the teaser trailer hit, I poured over it endlessly, as I’m sure all of you did, and I noticed something or rather its absence…Two shots, one second apart that could originally be seen in the leaked version of the trailer that appeared over Thanksgiving weekend. They are both particularly interesting in spite of their poor quality.
The first, at :37 sec, shows a black skeletal hand, perhaps it’s not a hand, but something moving over the edge of a cryo-unit. What it is or isn’t, I don't know, but am very curious about. It’s alive, it’s moving and it sure as hell does not look human.
The second, at :39 sec, is of a bulge moving in someon'es stomach. It, again, looks very strange and appears for less than a second, so it’s rather difficult to hazard a guess at what it might be.
These shots flank, before and after, a shot of the SpaceJockey chair rising out of the floor, as appears in the official trailer."
The leaked trailer is still available at: http://www.disclose.tv/action/viewvideo/83539/PROMETHEUS_Leaked_Trailer_Enhanced_De_noised/
The second of the two shots might be what your referring to, but I only may have seen it wrong, concidering the quality is so poor. Check it out and tell me what you think.
ReplyChrisPrometheus ForumComic-con 2011 Prometheus Trailer - Questions!Jan 17, 2012
Yes, that scene does exist, my guess is that (as mentioned above) it revealed too much. Fans would get all excited at the notion of a chestburster scene - when in actuality it could be/and probably will be something very different.
There were at least 6 versions of the trailer, we've only seen 2 of them. One which made the initial release. Maybe Fox will release that trailer you're thinking about as a follow-up as we near the release date. Maybe it will host even more revealing and speculative scenes.
It would certainly be a good idea from a marketing stand point.

ReplywalterhillerPrometheus ForumWe know how it crashes, but how does a Derelict land?!Jan 17, 2012
it could land in any position, really. even with the tongs facing the ground. in prometheus, it's possible that the upright position is in fact the right position due to the space jokey(s) trying to correct the descent path for it into a soft landing. though i have a strange feeling the front of the ship is the "head" of the compass. and that it flies while dragging the two tails behind it.
ReplyStarbeastPrometheus ForumWe know how it crashes, but how does a Derelict land?!Jan 17, 2012
That's an interesting point-of-view but perhaps landing/crashing head first (with the head where you say it is) is the best manoeuvre to quickly and easily disembark from the ship. But then as I found, this kinda contradicts the other Derelict in Alien whic has the eggs and cockpit parallel to the planetoid surface.
ReplyCBT1979Prometheus ForumWe know how it crashes, but how does a Derelict land?!Jan 17, 2012
Nice idea, and i now also think that the
SJ vessel is designed for such hard impact
Landing. Any other human vessel would
desintegrate to millions of pieces. But this
one is strong enough.
it also has to be mentioned, that the
derelict is a gigantic vessel, maybe the size
of 10 Nimitz class carriers. And we dont know
what else it transported besides the eggs.
ReplybigbirdjimmyPrometheus ForumWe know how it crashes, but how does a Derelict land?!Jan 17, 2012
So how about this:
The Derelict ship in Alien shows no damage of a mid air collision like in the trailer for Prometheus. That leads me to believe there might be a second ship. Also as far as landing/crash landing or whatever, what if the sj ship takes off a planet like we acctually do on earth. Like the real space shuttle, the astronauts face up into the sky. As they level off or land on earth, everything is right side up where its supposed to be. So maybe the alien ship is ready for take off. So what do you all think?

In the teaser trailer they somewhat
took something back to their ship
on a scan table whick looks like
A skull of the jockey. But like ridley
stated, the space jockey we know
is actually a biomechanic suit.
the question is, who or what is
inside? Could it be much smaller?
and who knows how intelligent
the aliens are supposed to be.

Replydb73Prometheus ForumNew Revealing Photo.Jan 16, 2012
Well, one thing seems pretty conclusive to me, especially after seeing that super-lightened picture - the thing in the chair from Alien is the same as those things in the corridor. They are suits, as Scott has mentioned somewhere previously. And what is in the suit is likely that big blue Smurf/Navi thing from the jockey chair clip in the Prometheus trailer.
Any other aliens/xenos in this film will take on a different appearance to anything we have seen before. There has been talk of 'skeletal monstrosities' so maybe we'll see some sort of proto Alien/Xenomorph created by God (excuse the pun) knows what process. Probably us Humans sticking our noses in where they shouldn't in all likely hood. Now, sit back and enjoy the ride ......... :D
ReplypjrPrometheus ForumNew Revealing Photo.Jan 16, 2012
I agree that this must be a publicity photo, and not a scene from the movie. It's been said when filming scenes with the jockeys they'll be using the same technique done in the Lord of the Rings, to make the actors playing the jockeys in those suits look much taller than the humans. As someone said, it looks like the 2 suits could be waiting to use the restroom.

Anyone read Childhoods End by Arthur C Clarke? I see some parallels with this idea that I was thinking about over the weekend i.e. the jockeys are servants of some higher power.
