I have a suspicion the new crew consume the milk of the gods (probably spiked by Fassbender and Theron's droid/replicant characters) and morph into "jockeys" .
Milk is also reference to the drink of Von Daniken's alien gods who inspired Ridley...
If you look at the stills from Comic Con, there's a lot of focus on scans of abdomens, and a pic of a female crew member staggering out of a mess hall on hind legs :s...well, this is how things look to me :)
I wonder if we'll see the xenomorph born from the jockey we know - it must be enormous, and how did the Nostromo crew avoid it unless it died in some final conflict with the Prometheus crew?

I totally have to have either Alien or Aliens on to go to sleep at night...sometimes Planet Earth, Sigourney's voice lulls me better than a benzo.

This hypothesis can be discarded by Ridley's commentary in the bonus content of the Alien anthology collection. He talks about the derelict and the Spacejockey, but interestingly, he says the ship was meant to be a bomber (probably with destination to Earth or a human colony). Personally though, I actually like the idea of self regeneration and punishment with the impregnation of several alien organisms. Although think about it twice, if that was the case, how would that help to develop an actual story for Prometheus, and how would the humans play out in this setting?
ReplyFrantzPrometheus ForumVery smart ideaNov 1, 2011
the bomber ship fit well with the presumed "ending" of prometheus ... in the other case ( the space jockey tied to the chair as prometheus ) the humans got the benefits and now will acts as "avengers" of that one "good" jockey against the "evil" jockeys

RULE # 1 - Always Keep the surround sound "ON"!
RULE # 2 - Always keep the Quadrilogy DVD BOX Facing your seat/couch/sofa in your living room so you are reminded to drift off to sleep with one of the four films playing in the background each night softly after a hard day at the office.
LMAO & True in my case.

I looked at the fox movie releases Dec on - not many choices to attach to. I'm going with Superbowl spot. But TDKR And the Avengers already have websites and trailers - you would think 20 century fox would get something going. Average person probably doesn't even know about this flick

An interesting idea of a potential scenario for the crew of the PROMETHEUS-inspired by Rhunter
Upon hearing that the ship’s fuel pumps have been damaged, Janek and Ravel are recalled back to the ship, leaving Vickers, Shaw, Holloway, Theo, Milburn, and David to explore further into the halls of the Great Chamber. Discovering a small opening near the rear, Holloway and Theo examine closely, and discover that it appears to be a living tunnel-a mucous-like passage with skeletal walls. Vickers urges them to venture in, but Holloway interrupts, stating it would be better to wait for the repairs to be made before venturing further. Vickers overrules him (much to Shaw’s protest), leaving Milburn and Theo to explore the tunnel.
They both attach themselves to lines connected to a support beam in the Great Chamber, careful not to disturb the many bioseed urns lying about. They begin to slowly make their way through, with Theo making remarks about the “queasiness” of the tunnel. The others begin monitoring their progress through live monitors via cameras attached to their helmets. Vickers watches with anticipation, but Shaw and David converse privately, fearing that the corporate rep is unconcerned for their safety.
Entering a large maze, Theo makes his way to the left at a fork in the tunnels (with Milburn staying behind to maintain contact)-despite Vickers and Shaw’s disapproval. Making his way further down, into a dark, more solid-enclosed passage, Theo enters a somewhat larger gothic chamber over a deep chasm, with sarcophagus-like cocoons spaced around the walls of the other side. He crosses a large stone bridge slowly, encountering a screeching tone in his ears when he arrives at the other side.
Meanwhile, Milburn tries to remain calm, but panics when his scanner picks up movement nearby-alerting Theo to return. Unfortunately, he is too late; Theo approaches one of the “cocoons”, and when seemingly moving his hand over a clear panel, springs back when it begins to open. Unknowingly, Theo has awoken one of the dormant Engineers.
Theo tries to rush back, and makes his way to Milburn’s cable-minus Milburn . The latter, it turns out, has gotten lost in the tunnels looking for Theo, and in a fit of panic within the tunnels- comes around a corner face to face with a fully living Engineer. The creature stares at him curiously for a moment, then grabs him viciously, dragging him away amidst screams of terror. Shaw, David and Holloway manage to get a glimpse of a large shadow on the monitor-just before Theo’s comm. link cuts abruptly.

So In Time just came out and it seems as though there has been no trailer. Looks like we are still in the dark. I am willing to say that at thid point who knows. I doubt we'll see it attached to Sweet Valley High meets Clash of the Titans aka The Immortals. If it happens I will fall out of my seat. I almost dont want a trailer at this point and just let the build up blow my mind.

This was originally a "Prank" image initiated by Alien vs Predator fan site AvPGalaxy.net last April as an April Fool. The picture went viral within a couple days and many sites claimed it as official concept artwork, but following those few days, AvPGalaxy.net clarified and explained that this image was in fact a false piece created by one of their local members. Here's their original April Fool's post
The shoulder canon is that of the "Predator" franchise, nothing to do with Alien or Prometheus for that matter.
But in terms of the artwork, it was very well done and fooled alot of people!
ReplyBurstPrometheus ForumSpace Engineer Picture (Old Hoax)Oct 29, 2011
Damn British movie site!!! Thanks for the clarification. Well I knew that shoulder canon looked a bit suspicious. Now I feel like an idoit. A real Alien fan would not believe this right away. I jumped a little to far ahead. Still looks cool though.

Wow. I think it could be legit, I know of a dude who got some extra work through them. They'll sometimes let info like that be available to the actors who are members because you have to pay for some of these types of sites. I'm using one for actors/musicians to try to get a recording contract for my band. With Dark Knight Rises, I actually saw a casting call for the prison break scene that I think was shot back in Pittsburgh; so anyone applying online and the site itself knew a little bit before the reports came in about what goes on in that scene (even though the details in the DKR scene I saw only outlined the types of characters present). Allows the people to have some idea what they'd be playing before they travel a long distance for an audition.

Yeah, it's jockey's - AWESOME! I think Lindelof's unanswered question is about them and what happened to the Jockey's chestburster, and if this is the case, we will have an epic on our hands!! WE NEED THE TRAILER THIS WEEKEND!!! :)

ReplyJSMoorePrometheus ForumWho is going to compose the musical score for PROMETHEUS? Oct 27, 2011
Haha K4kindle! I was thinking of the same composer.I thought Elliot Goldenthal's score to Alien 3 was spectacular, as well as his score to HEAT and Public Enemies.
Another option would be Brian Reitzell, who scored 30 DAYS OF NIGHT. He actually creates his own instruments to create unique and strange sounds.

ReplyRickPrometheus ForumMissing AlienOct 27, 2011
Hey Guys,
The Alien is supposed to have a very short lived life span much like the mayfly. The mayfly lives in fresh water as a nymph for a year but once it matures and turns into an adult it lives a single day and its sole purpose is to reproduce. My guess is it is somewhere keeled over dead. But, we have no idea what the aliens final life stages are though it could melt down into a stew since it has molecular acid for blood or it could just fall over dead and decay like we do.
Regards,
Rick

@Theusprom
Xeno, you need to compare the theatrical version against the director's cut.
Here is the original
Scary
I cannot find the version that is in the director's cut, but I will have a better look later.
I have no idea why they changed it, the original is very off putting .
I know, the version you posted is the original raw deleted scene. The only version of this scene re-edited and put back in the film is the 2003 directors cut which they changed the transmission sound itself.
Seems like just about everybody is in agreement, that the original (Ben Burtt) sound effect for this scene is superior to the one that was subsequently edited into the 2003 Director’s Cut for thearical release and DVD. I happen to agree with that aesthetic opinion. It has a weird sort of…hydro-electronic tonality that (to me) works perfectly with the whole biomechanical pseudo- nature of the Space Jockey and its vessel
I agree, the original Ben Burtt verison fits completely.
