Found the Röyksopp video I was telling you about!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VF8LMQQ0rEw
It would not work for a Covenant video at all, lol. But, it's really an excellent video.
@Ati
Thanks!!!
Wow, just gave the Enigma song a listen! I tried to embed it but it didn't work for some reason. :(
Very haunting and beautiful song! Would your video focus on a specific character? I could see that song working well for a video about Daniels.
Even if none of us ever gets around to making music videos, I think I'm going to turn these into a playlist of "Songs that Remind me of Covenant", lol.
I haven't listened to your two Röyksopp suggestions yet, but I know Röyksopp used to have this song called "Remind Me" which had a video that showed a bunch of every day stuff broken into it's component parts, and showing where it originated... like...little labels would pop out of everything like factory specs.
Anyhow, my husband showed that video to me back in 2007 when we were dating, and I became semi-obsessed with it and would watch it endlessly on repeat.
engineers cloaked with shields and swords roman infantry style
David commanding his 2000 strong Xeno. Holding onto a base.
War of minds David vs The Elder king
Colonial Marines come to save the day. A reason for no nukes so we have hand to hand combat
All out war.
i mean that the company wouldnt risk being sued for a "death"
I had this magazine some time ago which had a young women staring face-to-face with a Xeno. Plus, it was all hand drawn and not a picture. It is so awesome!
Sadly, I threw out the magazine some time ago and I don't have it anymore.
If anybody knows what I am talking about and knows the picture, PLEASE send it to me!
IRaptus - I'm happy, it means you like European music! :)
My big favourite from Röyksopp is What Else Is There:

Another song from Neo with a familiar moment from Alien:
Neo - Spellbound:
Not killable? They sure 'killed' Ash. Bishop was nearly destroyed too, and Ripley finished him off in Alien 3.
@MrHreviews so far only Win and Linux.
DG - Good points, perhaps another Oram, or more first names, or he was a private previously? :)
Timmy The Ultramorph -
You mention Origae 6 turns out to be LV426 - i suggested in another thread that this could be a scenario fox have to consider but was laughed off the pages. maybe in the same system? The turbulance, the ringed planet there is something niggling with that. even though i have had all the evidence against thrown my way on several occasions. i think fox may be hinting even though it dont fit.
Anyway i would love to see the teardrop again. perhaps ending the prequel as it began with that amazing ship either seeding or over seeing a cleansing.
Walter has to live to see another day. too much marketing for it to end like that.
i would like an engineer or another race to be the SJ. Shame it HAS to be a current character as its eggs contain a David bio mech 1979 Xeno not a variant the engineers had. Shame that one. Oh hope David slows growth rate back down or that wont fit either. Thought i better mention that too.
Other than that i just want Fox to tread carefully and make sure all the changes they made they dont fall down a hole they created. Give us a story that fits with the timeline and canon at this point i cant hope for anything more than that.
it is well tricky. the path to alien from covenant is an impossible one perhaps:(
Timmy what you and this forum come with you can guarantee it will have more detail, effort and care than anything we could hope for.
Timmy the ultramorph the trolls will blah blah blah until at least their bad reviews will be quarantined to the review section.
Till then, the trick is not minding that it hurts.
Ignore them. And their hate.
Timmy the ultramorph even Ripley is memorable in Alien 3 compared to Aliens.
And half of Bishop and a dead Newt are better in Alien 3 than in Aliens.
Such an underrated movie.
Same as Alien Covenant.
I'm not sure how reliable that is, though, since Oram is listed as a security officer instead of the executive officer, and his first initial should be C instead of P. Some of the other names don't ring a bell, either (apart from Tennessee, Lope, Hallet, and Walter).
Daniels "Dany" Branson
they are also more effective than humans, and they are not killable. they also follow orders unlike the marines. Also robots do not request to get payed so weyland would actually come up ahead finachially. especially if they already had some witch i am sure they do.
i don't know what alot of people mean when they say that alien 3 didn't have memorable characters. I actually remember more names of charectors in alien3 than in aliens. the one known for its character. dillon, clemens, golic, and morse are all pretty memorable to me.
"Aliens:
they dont just send robots to investigate lv 426."
"know one listens to ripley. the only one who has ever seen and delt with them."
Robots are more expensive than humans.
They think she's crazy.
I think that engineers ether evolved from or evolved into humans and the ones in covenant are a missing link in-between. they were alot more human looking than the one in prometheous.
Clemens for me too.
Clemens and Lambert
I hated prometheous the first time I saw it. it really just took a bit of thought and time before I appreciated it. People are hating on the intilectuall side of it the most And i think when you rewatch it, it becomes alot better. these people probably just saw it once and posted there negative review as soon as they got home from the the theator.
I like a lot of those plot points, especially David infusing his own DNA with that of the facehugger embryos (for all we know, those particular embryos were already modified since he had a deeper understanding of how the black goo worked). Personally, I would have the main protagonist be one of the 2000 colonists who prematurely wakes up a year or so into David's experiments. I'm not sure if Origae 6 could be LV426 because it was my understanding that it was always barren, otherwise the Prometheus would have zeroed in on that location as opposed to LV223 (the only moon capable of sustaining human life).
The idea of the Engineers zeroing in on David makes a lot of sense; perhaps in a prologue, a group of them arrive at Planet 4 and observe not only the fallout of David's genocidal act, but the corpses of the Covenant crew in the citadel (pretty much spelling out in neon letters that their own creations were responsible) and...the remaining eggs that David cultivated. One of the eggs hatches and impregnates one of the Engineers, making him the eventual Space Jockey. His comrades retrieve and place him in stasis, knowing what will happen once the facehugger is finished. Perhaps David cracked a problem they've been trying to solve in regards to the creation of xenomorphs, which explains the murals in Prometheus. That Engineer would wake up near the end of the third act and either sacrifice himself to prevent the xenomorphs from seeing the light of day and crash his Juggernaut onto LV426 or fail in getting the eggs to LV223 and crashing on the former. My bet would be on the former considering how he managed to broadcast a warning before dying.
With David, I always had this sneaking suspicion that he's either inhabiting Walter's body or sharing it with Walter, which would create a very interesting plot element either way. If it was the former, David could just transfer his consciousness to any piece of AI he wants, so he wouldn't technically die (what if Ash is David?) If it was the latter, Walter's consciousness could regain control and allow him to destroy the body that contains them both, giving him a heroic ending of sorts.
Lastly, the idea of Daniels becoming or harboring the queen seems inevitable. I can picture a scene where the protagonist finds a preserved royal facehugger (similar to the discarded design in Alien 3) and eventually finds Daniels in an elaborate, beautifully-disgusting setpiece. Daniels implores the protagonist to kill her just before the queenburster erupts. It would be a powerful introduction to the queen and a heart wrenching end to Daniels' character.
I'm spitballing, of course, but those are very thought-provoking plot points that others can build on in their own way, so thank you for sharing.
Definitely David. Parker and Brett are fun as hell too! At least before the killing begins... Also I'll give a shoutout to Larry Purvis! The nerd in Resurrection who has the embryo in him the whole damn time. He is ridiculous, but I enjoy him!
Thanks everyone. I will definitely read them all. I'm just trying to read them in order. I am assuming the year of release would be they best order in which to read them
I love lots of characters. But I agree Clemens is a very special character, probably because in Alien 3 nobody really stands out except him. He wasn't some hero or ones who complains a lot. He doesn't talk bullshit while has his own way of thought. Also I like his manner and soft spoken tone.
Tennessee had a hidden agenda actually. He wanted the xenomorph hence "created" Shaw's message. Next sequel is a collaboration of David and Tennessee. :D
id have the opening scene in awakening being country roads blaring over the loud speakers. Tennessee's pod opening. as hes coming to we hear 'country roooooaaaaads' and just behind the song the chilling screams of a woman. Tennessee looks over and daniels is still there so it leads us to assume the colonists r being woken 1 by 1 and experimented on. chilling
what platform will this be released on? would love to do playthroughs of it on my channel
as much as I enjoyed the movie, and I really did, my review states that, it is not without its issues.
obviously those issues are subjective, but I would say that the issues are highly transparent, for alien fans and just general movie going audience alike, so I would question those that simply say its perfect and has no issues and the same old drivel of, you just don't know what Ridley is trying to create, blah blah blah.
the bad press is sadly justified, with that in mind, however as others have pointed out, any press is good press.
I believe the inhabitants of the planet have either chosen or have been denied advanced technology. they may have chosen to live in this style of civilisation as the gods have wanted them to stay pure and only the pure get to be chosen for whatever higher power it is they believe in, possibly the engineer we see at the start of Prometheus came from this planet. this may also go a way to explain more as to why humans were chosen for extinction and they were not. the scorpion ship and hanger were only left there to facilitate returning engineers every century or so to check in on their creation
I tend to believe that the Planet in AC was a colony of Engineers who de - evolved. They were probably at the same level as Atlantis on earth. They were probably ordered not to think about why there is evidence of space faring all around them and told not to question it. Much like when 22nd century Colonial Marines don't ask why they have to use Laptops from 1986. They were brought up not think or question anything. Maybe The Engineers and the company have more in common than we think.
Either way horror movies are supposed to horrify you sometimes.
Some Writer/Directors are far too sensitive. I like the idea of the audience having to route for a character that gets snuffed out in the final 5 minutes. They should have had Daniels bieng fatally experimented on as the credits rolled. Her screams bieng drowned out by John Denver songs
im sure quite a few kids were toast. newt was the only survivor but I don't think there were any specific numbers given to how many of the colonists were kids
