Covenant feels like Ridley's mix of Alien 3 and Resurrection. Depressing removal of Shaw (Newt/Hicks), a small number of people getting picked off on a boring planet, David and Walter the outsiders like Ripley's clone and Call (sort of), Tennessee and Daniels like Ripley and Call (sort of--they survive), and CGI Aliens totally lacking the mystique of Giger's original.
