It has been confirmed that Alien: Covenant will take place 10 years after the events of Prometheus and will feature a re-invented design. Speaking recently to Collider, Costume Designer Janty Yates (who also worked with Ridley Scott on The Martian and Prometheus) discussed the upcoming sequel and what we can expect in terms of costume design and timeframe.
Yates reveals that Alien: Covenant will feature a new space-suit design, except for David, who will retain the suit he wore in Prometheus. She also reveals that Her, Scott and the rest of the design team had their first meeting about the direction of Alien: Covenant and its design elements, back in August. She also confirms production begins this April and that preparations for the highly anticipated Prometheus sequel began two weeks ago.
Most recently, we also learned that Katherine Waterston had landed the lead role, opposite Michael Fassbender's David, with Noomi Rapace's character, Elizabeth Shaw taking somewhat of a backseat for this sequel. We here at Scified received word that Game of Thrones actor Conan Stevens was also being considered for a role as an Engineer.
