Demian Bichir has been set by Ridley Scott to join the cast of Fox’s Alien: Covenant, the sequel to the Scott-directed Prometheus. Bichir will join Michael Fassbender, Katherine Waterston and Danny McBride. Many of news reports also write that Noomi Rapace is also on cast list, although that's maybe mistake... Who knows? :)

Bichir, Oscar nominated for A Better Life, was most recently part of the ensemble cast of the Quentin Tarantino-directed The Hateful Eight. Bichir’s other recent credits include “Death in Buenos Aires,” “Machete Kills,” “Savages” and “The Heat

The news was first reported by Deadline Hollywood.

Still crossing my fingers for Noomi. How could she possibly not be in it? So the studio wants to distance this next installment from the critical failure of Prometheus. OK I get it. But her character had nothing to do with that movie's failings. And we were promised to see her through her search for answers.

I don't think they are trying to distance themselves from Prometheus...if they were, they would have gotten rid of Fassbender/David 8 story line....They killed the Prometheus cast..so they need to retool..fresh meat.....i think they don't want to repeat the Ripley character with Noomi.

I really hope that Noomi won't be in it because her character (Shaw) was just plain annoying. She were in a bunch of movies that I like but I think that she was a crappy character in Prometheus.

Sp_Jockey: I know that it is a matter of taste but Shaw was one of the bad things about Prometheus in my opinion.

As far as Alien Covenant goes it is interesting that there is a lot of info that is coming now. All of it might not be correct but at least it is interesting.

Finally more news! I'm very excited. A whole new cast give the sequel a more bigger feeling. I have

the feeling that it will be epic. But what about the idea that the engineer's homeplanet is dark and ominous.

That does not suit to the description of Ridley when he talked about monumental forest... etc

However I still hope that Noomi Rapace will be in the other two sequels... Hope they film all sequels at once.
