20th Century Fox have officially unveiled that the previously unknown, mysteriously titled Alien project known as Alien: Blackout is in fact, to the dismay of many hopeful Alien fans, a mobile game. Unfortunately for those who were hoping for a sequel to Alien: Isolation, the wait continues. This seems to be especially frustrating for some fans due to the fact that the marketing for Alien: Blackout has referenced Amanda Ripley, the protagonist from Creative Assembly's Alien: Isolation - which many assumed meant a return of the iconic character in a (console / PC based) Alien: Isolation sequel.
What's more unexpected is that you can pre-order the mobile game through Apple's App Store and Google's Play Store. The game will officially release January 24th.

Of course, we should try and give this game the benefit of the doubt and remain hopeful that Fox have more up their sleeves for the Alien franchise this year, but it is rather disappointing that the big unveiling was not something more profound and larger in scale. In case you wish to play something more adventurous than this, you can get the best Dota 2 cheats and try your hands at this battle arena video game.
