Never before seen Alien: Covenant set photos shared for Alien Day 2019

Alien Day 2019 was a great success and although the day itself has concluded, the celebrations continue! Creature effects studio Odd Studio - who created the practical effects for Ridley Scott's Alien: Covenant shared a bunch of never before seen set photos from their time working on the Prometheus sequel. Most in particular offered us a great look at the practical Xenomorph and Neomorph suits and a closer look at some of David's twisted experiments!

Such a shame the studios did not announce a new film or TV series on Alien Day.

There was so much potential in this world, wasted by gods that feared their own might...

Indeed, there was plenty of "merchandising" promotion but nothing in the way of announcements.

I was also expecting some news on Cold Iron Studios' Alien game,  but alas... nothing yet. Hopefully we don't have to wait until Alien Day 2020 for an official movie / TV announcement.

The day they announce a real sequel to James Cameron's ALIENS (1986) directed by Neill Blomkamp, they'll have my attention.

Really though? Even though everyone involved with Alien 5 up until this point made remarks that the script was garbage and very cliche? It would be fun, sure, but I highly doubt it would add any substance to the franchise as a whole.

Ps. Odd Studio just shared one final never before seen photo:

Yeah, too bad that no tv series or film was announced. Problem with the franchise is that it all takes so much time. 7 years after Prometheus we got Alien Covenant and that was 2 years ago... The films have to be released in a regular rhythm/frequency. For example every 2 or 3 years... Then they have continuous attention and interest of the fans and non-fans.... But therefor, the studio needs a plan for a series of films... If we have a look at the planet of the apes prequel films or the maze runner films, they have a clear ending and beginning and each film was released several years after the previous one.

Thats understandable 123Engineer

I would say if Alien Covenant had made $350M+ and never had as much Negativity towards it, then we would have likely got a Sequel this YEAR!

If Alien Covenant had returned a Box Office like Prometheus and yet still got some Negativity/Criticism then i think again we would have had a Sequel.

Maybe we will FINALLY see a ALIEN movie in 2026 to celebrate 40 years of ALIENS and it being a Alien Franchise and NOT prequel Movie.

At least we have the entire play recorded with the possibility of a pro mix for DVD coming!
