The Puerto Rican 20th Century Fox Instagram account recently shared a new promotional image for Alien: Covenant. Interestingly enough, the image is of LV-426, the moon both Alien and its sequel Aliens took place on. The rough translation through Instagram reads "It's not just a calm moon, Alien: Covenant in theaters May 11th". This immediately follows a short IMAX featurette which we reported on yesterday, which also featured original footage of LV-426 from the previous Alien films.
This can't be coincidence. Why are Fox making such obvious reference to LV-426 when the planet Alien: Covenant takes place on is not LV-426? Could they be trying to throw us off to hide more sensitive plot details from leaking? Only recently have Fox begun sliding images and references to LV-426 into Alien: Covenant's marketing, which leads me to believe there is a definite reason for it and it's not merely a coincidence.
