Ridley Scott's Alien: Covenant is Accepting Director Attachments!

Interesting... maybe it releaves some of the Work Load for Ridley, maybe due to Age or due to taking part in other projects too..

seems kind of Director Assistant they are after is one who has covered Drama more than any other Genre...  and more so Fictional Drama....   so maybe they are going for a deep story that has more of a thriller element rather than Horror or Action Vibe?

This is probably part of the whole package to develop and promote the film industry in Australia since it is being initiated by the Australian Director's Guild. For Ridley it would be mentoring young new talent as an apprentice. A way of passing the torch from one generation onto another. I have a feeling that this would add more work for Ridley rather than relieving it as BigDave suggests. Seeing Ridley in recent interviews, he does not look like he wants to slow down. 

So this creatures ability to regenerate was known to the Engineers.  Did they discover it first?   Is the Engineers... AI evolve to some unseen plateau.  

I really thought that this whole Prometheus sequel couldn't get any more bizzare, but i was so wrong. This stinks of the kind of chance that used to be given to certain individuals who met a certain criteria in 80's British TV, when a certain programme/show was struggling.

Maybe the creators of Neighbours and Home and Away will apply! *Face-palm*

We cant be certain the reasons for this...

As i said it could be Ridley wishes to slow down but i doubt it, but we cant rule out that he has more Irons in the Fire and at his age he would not be able to work on Two Projects at the same time?

Maybe he is looking for someone to take under his Wing and show him how he wants movies shot and the Story told so that maybe they can carry on his work for him in future projects related to Alien i.e the planned 2 sequels to Covenant should Ridley at that time not be 100%

or it could be all part of the deal with Australia? i.e they have signed a deal (Covenant lol) that means they have to cast a certain amount of Australian Talent and Crew including Production

I had mentioned earlier that I had written a script for Paradise. Do you think they would be interested. It is 250 pages.

I believe simply one of many concessions, plus gracious opportunities being afforded; to those involved with the Australian Entertainment Industry. For Ridley's last couple pictures, his youngest son handled the Second Unit direction. Luke has his full-feature debut coming soon, and possibly he may be onto something-else (maybe like Noomi Rapace and Arthur Max). Plus with that, there might be some open-space, which Ridley himself desires to fill. And by putting something meaningful back in: an incredibly unique mentorship experience with a living legend, no less.

I don't suspect anything much to worry over; unless this epic-scale production becomes hostile, and attempts to overthrow the government. I guess that depends if Ridley wants Australia, all for himself (beachfront property, exotic delicacies: kanagroo milk, koala meats, '73 Ford Falcons, etc). Perhaps, there could be a little of a deviant Lex Luthor, deep within him. In being a daughter of man, which was part of an organization that once conquered, my very own people; I have some insight of what Ridley may be fantasizing (if the really case)...
