MemberNeomorphMay-19-2016 11:35 AMJohn Logan being brought on-board to do a re-write has almost completely erased the doubts I first had about Ridley making a decent sequel to Prometheus.
I mean, think about the films he has worked on and how good they are.
The Gladiator is a great film, The Aviator is a great film, Skyfall and Spectre are two of the best Bond films to date.
Looking very promising!
Btw, Don't get me wrong, I'm not slagging Prometheus off at all, it was certainly a more worthy instalment to the franchise than some of the sequels and spin-offs.

StaffNeomorphMay-19-2016 12:19 PMGood thing that they brought him to rewrite the script, I have big hopes in him.I love the movies he wrote;the gladiator, aviator, the last samurai,Sweeney Todd etc.
And he was nominated for 3 oscars, has 6 wins and 27 nominations.
When the movie comes out I will dance the dance of dancing.

MemberFacehuggerMay-19-2016 1:31 PMSeems as the days go by, more and more info is coming out. I'm betting that we should see a trailer by December. Since Star Wars is coming out, it be a good plug for Twentieh Century Fox to promote it.

AdminEngineerMay-19-2016 1:56 PMAgreed @Bladerunner77, I think December is a safe bet. Especially if a teaser is shown at Comic-Con this year as well, which is very likely.

MemberFacehuggerMay-19-2016 2:28 PMMost def. I'm sure Fox will be there promoting Star Wars at Comic Con. I would imagine Scott revealing a teaser....or not. Since they are filing now, I'm prett hopeful by the end of the year we should see something, let alone more leaks of the production as well. It has become popular thing these days to leak images out

MemberDeaconMay-20-2016 9:29 AMI was going to reply the other day but i never had access to the internet....
I was going to mention how this shows that there have been changes to bring in a more Xeno connection but also seems that Logans Comments suggest that they are still going to have themes from Paglen/Green drafts and how the Source in February said they wont leak no more stuff as while it seems changes are made, they could still be using a lot of the stuff from the previous drafts and so we are not seeing a complete re-write.

MemberDeaconMay-20-2016 9:32 AMSo yes it would now seem they are to show us Xenos more... but then it does not have to be exact Xeno from Alien but i think they are trying to send us down this route but we are to get 1-2 more movies before we get to Alien so maybe we wont quite see the Classic Xenomorph?
We have to remember Spaights draft and Ridleys comments on the Derelict suggested the Engineers where creating various kinds of Xenomorph and that the Derelict had 8 Cargo Holds each with a different type of creature that are related.
The source also claimed that the Draft of November 2014 featured TWO kinds of MONSTERS both different from each other but yet both similar to the Xenomorph in Alien.

MemberChestbursterMay-20-2016 10:35 AMThose of you whom have read my contributions know I am very encouraged by John Logan's involvement. I take heart from that remark that Covenant 'will sit more easily within the A L I E N world" than Prometheus and that if you are going to tell the story of the Zenomorph it has to include the lifecycle. What impressed me about his work on Bond was that the action sequences, crucial to the franchise were part of the story telling. The scene where Bond is driving through Rome and speaking to Moneypenny a textbook case of an action scene where after its completion the story has moved on. If I had niggles with S P E C T R E its was the gags that were added back in by the two writers that were originally dropped not a big niggle but for me not necessary. Of course in Covenant the gags are part of the story and hardly the lightheaded quips of a Bond movie.
