James Cameron Inspires Ridley Scott

Juxtapose

The following is from an old article I found on the net today. This is basically what Cameron had to say about Prometheus. It seems him and Scott go way back and are actually on very good terms......anyway I am so sick of the Cameron versus Scott and Alien versus Aliens nonsense....I figured that maybe if it apparent that they share a great deal of admiration for each others work, then the rest of u will maybe stop pitting them against each other. Ridley Scott is talking about doing an Alien prequel That’s a strange move for him. I mean, Ridley and I talked over lunch maybe 10 years ago and I said, “Look, I’ll write it and produce it, you direct it, it’ll ****ing kick ass!” And he was like, “Yeah, let’s do it!” And nothing happened. And then they did Alien vs. Predator, and that kind of pissed in the soup. I think Ridley really should do science fiction. He made the two most iconic science-fiction films of the 20th century. When he came to visit me [on the set of Avatar] I said to him, “Quit ****ing around with these wine movies in the south of France, make another science fiction film.” And he saw the technique we were using and got all fired up about it. He turned to his producer and said, “Why am I doing this Robin Hood? I should be doing science fiction!” The full article can be read here: http://filmonic.com/james-cameron-talks-terminator-salvation-alien-prequel

Personally I am looking forward to seeing Anton Yelchin as Odd Thomas, though I think someone should attempt to make Necroscope into a movie.

I did'nt even know their was follow up's...I was visiting my sister recently and she had a tun of old Koontz books....so I asked her if i could borrow a few and just randomly picked 3...."fear nothing", "Demon Seed" and ofcause Odd Thomas....I read all three in a space of just over a week....tho I have to say that Demon Seed (the revised version) was my favorite....I have read some of his other books over the years. I thought Odd Thomas was great tho and I am looking forward to reading the other novels in the series....I bet if the film adaptation does well then we can expect a new movie franchise!

Why not have a movie about the beast from space 1999? I always wondered how the creature in the graveyard of ships got there....

Both Directors were visionarys with regard to their respective Alien films IMO, some of the camera work Cameron instructed was Brilliant and included a lot of very well thought out Reverse Photography!
