That mural one is certainly interesting. The hole is pretty much where the jockey's tear is located in Alien, just extended a bit more.

MemberOvomorphApr-11-2012 5:35 AMIt could indeed be the same creature in the cave painting. But the one thing that makes me think it isnt the same creature, is that the cave painting creature is quite small compared to the tall guy.
If what Im seeing and outlined in red is correct in any way, and it is drawn to scale of the big blue guy, then the creature looks to be of equal size, or even a bit bigger(compare "head" size of the two) -

Im kinda thinking it has something to do with a xeno or space jockey.

Look between the two pink circles you drew. That is a Space Jockey elephant head with eyes and snout looking down. Tilt your screen. Also it looks to have a scorpion stinger about to pierce the image of the blue guys leg. I see three figures when zoomed in.
The elephant head is right directly above the stinger.

MemberOvomorphApr-11-2012 5:52 AMI love heavy speculation!

Ridley Scott will eventually tell us how the Queen was born.
Right now we have the Deacon; coming soon the Mercury, the May and the Taylor.

MemberOvomorphApr-11-2012 5:58 AMThe sting is in the side arm of the creature, similar to the Xenomorphs. But certainly his head looks more like a Space Jockey helmet.
Anyway it is quite possible that this creature is the same as appears in the rock art of the Sky island. Perhaps the giant God wanted to say: "Under no circumstances travel to this star system or you will come face to face with this" ...

WhyDontTheyFreezeHim
MemberOvomorphApr-11-2012 5:59 AM@ NoXWord - I have NO idea how you see that LOL!
But yeah, I love heavy speculation too.
@ Shilliam Watner - Yup, I said it kinda looks like a space jockey head too. But when you compare them, they are quite different. Also the space jockey doesnt have those spike things on his elbows. Still could be him though....or it could be nothing at all! Just another case of Jesus face seen in toast lol!
EDIT - The original Space Jockey DOES appear to have something that resembles spikes coming from his elbows!....only it seems like they have "grown into his arm/chair"....

not really convincing.. the two egg looking thingies look like KNEES, very realistic painted..but when these are knees the whole body position would be wrong..;)
strange..

WhyDontTheyFreezeHim
MemberOvomorphApr-11-2012 6:09 AM@ Kane - Agreed. The big guys right knee(our left) looks strange so I looked at it more and thought it may be an egg....even with something like a chest burster coming out of it LOL
I think thats definitely a case of seeing Jesus in toast though! Im just looking at it for too long.

NoXWord
MemberOvomorphApr-11-2012 6:12 AMActually, there a position in which those knees would be consistent with a humanoid figure, that is with the legs crossing at the ankles. In that position the knees are forced apart and there's room for bending the head.
But also, many Giger's paintings defy perspective (assuming that this is from Giger).

Well I see what looks to be a arm draping over the middle of the back of the elephant head body like there is a another figure behind it that we cant see. Remember the still is of a incomplete morphing image taking place. I just don't see the elepant head image with one eye socket visible as a knee.

MemberOvomorphApr-11-2012 6:18 AM@whydont
It dont make sense at all because I would say in the upper left corner that is a ribcage..almost Xeno..

MemberOvomorphApr-11-2012 6:22 AMThe background of the big painting looks like the background in the famous lifecycle painting.

WhyDontTheyFreezeHim
MemberOvomorphApr-11-2012 6:25 AM@Kane - Yeah, I agree...but I was talking about the humanoid figure! I mustve thought you were too. Ignore me lol
Cant wait to find out what this thing REALLY is! Ive had enough of guessing for now.

MemberOvomorphApr-11-2012 6:26 AM@Kane
I thought the ribbed feature to be a ribcage at first glance, but it actually appears to be above the shoulder, rather than below the armpit, it seems to be in the wrong position for a ribcage.

WhyDontTheyFreezeHim
MemberOvomorphApr-11-2012 6:33 AM@Necrofan - Now that you mention it, I can see that now. I was trying to see it before but for some reason I couldnt.
So the thing that looks like the humanoids right knee(which I thought for a second was an egg) is his guts, right?
@NoXWord - I had the same thought too. Its a VERY strange image which makes me question that what I outlined may be just my imagination. Hopefully Im close though.
Anyway, what do you guys think, is this a painting or a 3D sculpture...or maybe even something like a projection image? It looks flat like a painting in some parts but 3D in others.

MemberOvomorphApr-11-2012 6:39 AM@jimmydelaroja nice job, and look at the mouth of the creature, has some tentacles or appendages, very similar to this image:

WhyDontTheyFreezeHim
MemberOvomorphApr-11-2012 6:40 AM@ Ethon the Ripper - The "tentacles" of the mouth in that image are exactly what I imaged when I made my red outline. Thanks for sharing!

MemberOvomorphApr-11-2012 6:46 AM@WhyDontTheyFreezeHim Thanks, and yeah, apparently the great Giger has put much of his art in this film.

BellaisanAlien
MemberOvomorphApr-11-2012 6:48 AMI'm wandering from this whether the creature to the left is the original Engineer that visited Earth, whom changed humans DNA?
Perhaps a bond between the creature and humans created some sort of super-being that controls the Engineer? and that being (probably big blue) is a bit of an arsehole and when discovers Earth wants its resources?.........

MemberOvomorphApr-11-2012 6:48 AMMay I bring once again to your attention the bakcground of the painting?

I'd say veeeeery similar
And if you look at the surrounding features you keep spotting more similarities.

great job. That creature is in a squating position with his head bowed. Look at the eyes on the side of its head.

WhyDontTheyFreezeHim
MemberOvomorphApr-11-2012 7:00 AM@NoXWord - Great eye! Looks VERY similar indeed!
@Watner - Definitely looks like his head is bowed. But where are you seeing his eyes? Same place as my red outline or somewhere else?

The only view that looks anatomically correct is this:
- the body lies on its back , slighty twisted to us. the ribcage then makes sense
- then the upper arm is draping over the ribcage, looks correct
both arms are detailed xeno-featured if you look closely
- the under arm is a bit long, but correct
arms have both spikes coming from his elbows.
see what I mean? ( sorry fpr crappy pic)
but
no legs
whose knees?
the thing Prometheus sticks his arms into unclear

ShinobiX9X
MemberOvomorphApr-11-2012 7:07 AMno the arms go around the knees. like when you sit on the floor, knies under chin (against chest) and arms around legs

BellaisanAlien
MemberOvomorphApr-11-2012 7:11 AM@ShinobiX9X, I think it's all got to be a trap, we are cattle for the Engineers....... their reproduction must be similar to the Xeno - they need our bodies to live - the Xeno IMO is created through a pure chance of the fact that Holloway is going through the initial changes and gets 'jiggy' with an uninfected Shaw, the baby is the progenitor to the Xeno - attacking the Engineer that pilots the ship and whatever comes out ceates / lays all of the eggs.....
