Okay, after weeks and weeks of reading some amazingly inventive conjecture and speculation (as well as a few ridiculous notions, frankly) on this forum...one of the things I'm greatly looking forward to, is finding out WHICH ideas are correct, and which have been totally WRONG!... So I'd like those of you with strong opinions (or hopes/fears) about anything that you're personally CONVINCED about, to lay them out here for everyone to see... Please join in, as it's just a bit of fun, and it'll be interesting to compare how near the mark or otherwise you are to what the writers/makers have ACTUALLY come up with for Prometheus... Let me start this off with my own specific beliefs in no particular order - 1. ALIEN was a genuine 10/10 movie experience at the time for me, and I reckon the PG-13 'theatrical' cut will turn out to be at least a 9/10 experience, with the inevitable harder-edged 'Director's Cut' on Blu-ray adding an extra notch to this score...which will be a little frustrating as I'd have liked to have seen ALL of it on the big screen in the first place! 2. I reckon the entire Shaw/squirming 'squid birth' scene is going to be almost as memorable, and gruesomely horrible as ALIEN's 'chestburster' sequence was... 3. I reckon that the 'derelict' craft seen in the trailers is NOT the one that's seen in ALIEN...and that we'll see more than one of them in this movie... 4. I reckon that it is indeed the BIG BALD FELLAH that ends up sitting in the seat wearing the 'space jockey' suit and helmet...although he's NOT the 'chestbursted' one that's discovered in ALIEN... 5. I reckon we'll also see a very different race of 'aliens' compared to whatever the BIG BALD FELLAH is...but it WON'T be the 'xenomorphs' we've seen in the previous movies... 6. I reckon the 'ampule' urns are a specific container for 'bio-weapon' material which can be used to 'seed' various planets with...which are capable of creating OR exterminating life on them, depending on the objective at the time...and contain different 'DNA' from various unknown species collected from other worlds in them... (in addition, I reckon that SOME of the urn containers may contain the 'DNA' mixtures of more than one species in them, to make something new...and some may contain actual living species in their early stage of life, such as the fully-formed 'young' creature that 'David' pulls out of one of the containers...) 7. I reckon these 'ampule' urns are a SEPERATE kind of thing altogether compared to the leathery 'eggs' containing 'face-huggers' that we saw in the previous movies...and do NOT 'morph' into 'eggs' in any way... (in addition, I reckon that the 'xenomorph' eggs seen in ALIEN were in the process of being transported towards the acual planet in the PROMETHEUS movie, rather than 'Earth'...as they were just another species that were intended to be added to the Space-Jockey's 'ampule' urn 'armory' at the time, until something went wrong wrong for the 'pilot' who had to ditch nearby on a seperate planet... And the 'warning' signal that went out was purely for the benefit of other 'Space Jockeys'!) 8. I reckon 'Vickers' turns out to be an 'android', just as 'David' is... 9. I reckon a now elderly 'Wayland' and personal 'security guards' are onboard...but this is initially kept from the majority of the 'Prometheus' crew... 10. I reckon the giant 'head' is more than just a static, unmoving object...and may move to reveal somewhere hidden... 11. I reckon that the 'infected' crewmember that mutates will NOT turn into the BIG BALD FELLA... I2. I reckon that this movie's events occur on a totally DIFFERENT planet compared to the one the 'Nostromo' investigates in ALIEN... 13. I reckon that Shaw's 'squid' will grow/change into something much larger and truly terrifying... 14. I reckon that if there ISN'T something much larger and truly terrifying compared to Shaw's 'squid' and the BIG BALD FELLA...then I'll be disappointed.... 15. I reckon this movie will NOT neatly tie up all the events exactly leading up to the 'space jockey' suit that's found 'chestbursted' in ALIEN...and that there'll be a few new mysterious questions by the end of this movie...but that they could all be answered in the SEQUEL! Okay, that's my thoughts on this, so I'll be interested in yours... :)

@Spartacus That Klingon looks like the markings on the Urns/Canisters, it also looks like Predator writting. Maybe thats the clue.... Klingon Markings? Well Fifield looks like he is changing into a Klingon lol

@Cervantes - Definitely! Also, thats a very Interesting idea you bought up about the 'invitation' which would allow the creators to know when were advanced enough to be a threat. I just think that its not efficient enough for a superior race though. Im sure they would have better ways of doing it and because they are so advanced, they would be able to monitor us more effectively. I really cant wait to find out what this 'invitation' really is. Its driving me mad lol @ BigDave - Thats right. We just dont have enough pieces of the jigsaw to put this thing together. Im actually glad that this films marketing team has done such a great job of keeping everything secret and keeping us guessing. Making us think one thing, and then making us think another! Great stuff!

@Cervantes I am not so sure about the Shaw C-Section scene. We can see in the trailers whats given away, we can already see that some Squid like Organism has been taken out of Shaw. Now a C-Section is not going to have the same effect as the Chestburster, i think Ridley would want to top what he did in Alien and that C-Section scene is not a going to be as horrific as the Chest Burster. Ridley says that the scene in question will be a bit embaracing and shocking, whats embaracing about seeing a Squid taken out via C-Section and the Trailers have already shown that and so its like no big suprise anymore. Also dont forget Ridley said this is where the Xenos Mommy met Daddy. I thus think the shocking scene is not the Birth of the Baby, as if she had the Squid thing come out the natural way Women give Birth then yes that would be Embaracing.... Nope i think its to do with how she ended up what apears to be pregnant with that Baby. I also maybe think the once Scene could show Shaw leaving the Promethus or the Escape Pod with that Organism. I think that the Squidy Baby and David will play a part in the biggest part of thise movie and prove to be the final downfall of the Space Jockey and his Ship.... thats provided the Derelict in this movie lands on LV426. But then we need to see a explanation as to where the 4 sarcophagus got to.

@Cervantes I agree with you...and think you're right on just about every count. Your theories almost exactly coincide with my own. However, I'm not quite sure about the Vickers being an android concept. I think that it's a definite possibility, but I'm kind of hoping that she just a human. Just a power hungry, razor blade minded, cold-hearted BITCH. I have believed that the Jockey vessel and the planet were different than those featured in the original ALIEN...all along, and I've had a lot of members hurl declarations and actual insults at me, for holding these opinions. Well, after the recent Q&As...who's laughing now? Good Job Cervantes....I concur. ~N

a repost by request with new additions. If I may, in the 2nd leaked phoney plot outline it was suggested that, and I think it is in fact what we will see, The Ampules or Vials if you will, contain a "viscous" liquid used by the Engineer's to create any of thousands of different life forms. In the case of the Xeno life form it is also suggested that these vials have been used to "Terraform Other Worlds" I am of the firm belief that those ampules/vials do in fact contain this liquid known as "BIOFORMER" and that as Punishment for stealing some of them for closer examination on board Prometheus, the Jockey{s}/The Engineers, have decided to punish mankind by loading up a bunch of them on what I believe will be the Derelict and then sending it on a course for Earth. Needless to say I also believe that what we are seeing in the trailer is an order the Company Gave to Stop this from happening to either Vickers or David or whomever is still alive at that point from The Crew by attempting to intercept "The Derelict", being executed....and thus Stranding The "Derelict" on LV-426. Edit with some additions of my own: #1- I speculate that either Vickers and/or David will survive this adventure and noone else. #2- I speculate that - They're all gonna die up there a la "ALIEN" style...one by one on the ship, except maybe a few of them who will die on the planet. But IMO they're ALL going to get "infected" in some way. #3- I speculate that the DEAD KING at the beginning of the trailer died from being Infected by the exact same goo we have seen everywhere in this thing. #4- I speculate that in trying to warn mankind of what happened to them, this race of beings failed somehow and we went up there and stuck our noses where they did not belong anyways. #5- I speculate that The Company obviously knew of The Derelict all along, why else would they be on her sister planet LV-223? #6- I speculate that the Space Jockey Suit unlocking at the end of the trailer is an event that DIRECTLY effects the film ALIEN somehow and that we will see yet another shot of the thing showing the opposite, something getting into it. #7- I speculate That David is the 2nd supposed Android. #8- I speculate that it will be revealed that The Company Already Knows of the existence of the Xenomorph or acquires that knowledge during the period in which Prometheus is taking place. #9- I speculate that Ridley Scott will be hailed at next years Academy awards and that barring some unseen Miracle of a film Prometheus will win Best Picture and Ridley Scott will win Best Director smashing down A Science Fiction Wall Hollywood has rediculously left standing for years. #10- I speculate that this film will break every single box office record in existence.

@ BigDave - okay, I've been thinking that the WAY that Ridley has filmed the 'Shaw giving birth' to the 'squid' will prove to be almost as shocking as the unexpected 'chestburster' scene in his original movie...since it's bound to involve lots of screaming, crying, and tentacles thrashing about near her face... But there's still the mystery of HOW exactly did she end up with such a disgusting organism inside her in the first place... So seeing as you've brought it up...I'm not entirely ruling out the horrible potential of a BIGGER tentacled monstrosity somehow impregnating her with this in the first place! After all, there certainly seems to be a BIG tentacle chasing her in the trailer, at some point... Yessiree...never mind AVATAR's tame romance, perhaps Ridley has some good 'ol nightmarish inter-species goings-on in store for us delicate souls... All filmed in a suggestive, but powerful way, with nothing too graphic shown of course.... So yup, I agree...it's yet another plausible possibility.

@Spartacus - What do you mean by David being the 2nd supposed android? Two Davids on board?

early on we were told Vickers was an Android, and that there was One Other, I say it's David. I think everyone agrees on that now though. I also may have that in reverse but either way I say they're BOTH androids.

New speculations noted Spartacus! It will be interesting to refer back to all our thoughts once we've found out what's really been put on screen... And the 'David 8' viral certainly clinced his 'android' status I'd say. But I have a feeling that 'Vickers' is definately a female model...possibly an improved version...

OK now Im confused! David has always been known to be an android, right? Not Vickers. But I agree that something is definitely up with Vickers.

O.K. so as I said I may have had it in reverse but the point I am making is the same, they are BOTH robots, I am saying Vickers is one too !!!

Someone brought up the function of the SJ's chair. If it swivels around on the turntable and can point higher (and lower as well?), is it meant to have the orb-shaped star map projected around it so it can turn and spin and pinpoint certain locations?

@Biomechanic...I liked one I saw yesterday from you man, did you see my reply? It was in reference to the whole speculation piece you did on the Derelict I believe and how the eggs came to be where they are right now.

you mentioned that it could be that with the way the SJ scratched the triangle that he made a trip carrying the egg....back and forth, it was SHEER BRILLIANCE and could turn out to be Historically Brilliant as well because you made that post back in August of last year or something like that...I will re-post it for you right here in 2 secs. Cheers!

@Biomechanic...here it is...my reply basically stated that this could turn out to be A Historically accurate as well as a Brilliant piece of speculation. {and is already} I think sometimes you have flashes of complete and utter Genius Type Brilliance "Bio"!!! Like this was! Even though I do NOT want to see this in the film it is nothing less than Brilliant.
My thought is the spacejockey was a crew member of the prometheus and was transformedd. I mentioned this in another thread. Maybe the alien that emerged from the space jockey created the eggs. That would mean the spacejockey was looking over a bunch of humans frozen in stasis for some reason. In the original script their was only one empty egg sack in the derelict ship and the jockey had carved a triangle into the dashboard of the ship. Later the dust storm clears and they see a pyramid that they think the jockey was referring to with his drawing and they go to explore it. Inside one member finds a room with thousands of eggs with hieroglyphs on the wall that explains the alien life cycle. Ridley can't really redo the original movie to make this happen but he may expand this idea. Maybe the space jockey went to this pyramid and brought the single egg from this pyramid back to his ship and it infected him and then the resulting spacejockey xenomorph found a large cache of human material asleep and used up it's remaining days making eggs out of them. After it's death they sit on this planet patiently waiting for a host.
