Prometheus will bomb?

Also the term xenomorph means foreign lifeform, so the term applies to any creature that appears in this movie, including the SJ.

I dont think the movie will bomb because of the PG13 As i said i dont understand the US rating system. In the UK that would be between a 12 and a 18 which gives us our 15. In the UK a 15 Cert movie allows for adding of more intence Horror moments, and Gore/Blood and scenes of Sexual or Violent nature a 12 does not allow for such. District 9 was a 15 in the UK and i enjoyed the movie, if Prometheus can get to that rating and allow simular amounts of Gore then with clever thriller element it would work. I just think that a movie restricted for 13 year olds would struggle to get the same kind of intence horror/thriller impact that say the Orginal Alien or The Thing had. A 15 age group could do it.... My self i think this movie would give us a intriging plot like a District 9 meets Blade Runner, there will be a link to Alien off course. But then you a have to remeber that Alien was not 100% about Xenos was it... thus this movie would have a much lesser amount of its time dedicated to the Xeno. I dont think we will expect to see Xenos running around, and by that i mean the exact kind and cycle as in Alien etc.... That does not mean we would not have some monsterous Organism that goes around killing the crew, i think the Organisms will have a mild simularity they will off course be based on or created at least by the same Race and simular process as the Xenos was. At the end of the movie, i expect that Ridley will give us our answers to Alien maybe there are questions left but they will be ones that do not leave us without answers, they will be ones that we would be able to solve for ourselves. Such as say if you got a Bulldog and then it has a Puppy thats a Cross with some other Dog Breed come out your left with questions..... (like Alien left) But if you then saw the Bulldog alone in the house with a Poodle and it does not show you anything else apart from bieng in the same room, then it would answer the Cross Breed Puppy (this is how i think this movie will leave us with answer but obvious question that can be answered). So as that he can in future explore other aspects of this movie and never in any other movie explore LV426 or the Derelict or what happens on that planet and ship from the timeframe of this movie circa around 2090 to that of Alien circa around 2120.

People will go to the movie, and it will do well. RS also has a non-scifi following with Gladiator, and he is now a know commodity. It will be the bad boy of the summer movies, and people will go. Just look at scarface. That movie was nc-17 and people flocked to it. There was barely a seat left in the theater. Artsy? Yes, Ridley based a good part of the fear on the actor's performance. His movies are about people. In Alien, Lambert was classic and human. My mother came out of the movie all pumped up that the women were the strongest. Big ol' Parker couldn't torch the Alien and also kill Lambert, even though she was pleading with him to shoot. Both reactions were human and believable. Women will be attracted to Shaw, and men will still be horrified by the alien man rape. No references to man rape in the trailers, but it is a known element in the Alien movie. The movie will also draw in those who don't normally like scifi. There still will be the religious types who see the movie as treading on their religion, I.e., finding the origins of man contradicts the beliefs of a majority of Americans. So, expect some religious backlash. I recall reading that a religious group protested the original Alien. I expect it will be a stronger reaction since this is an election year. Any candidate who doesn't criticize the movie will be branded a Democrat.

I love quality cinema, like [i]Alien[/i], and it seems like quality films are becoming fewer and far between. That's why I am so looking forward to [i]Prometheus[/i]. I also loved [i]District 9[/i]. As you can probably tell from my username, I am female. I don't watch shiny or glittery vampires or whatever they are. I loathed [i]The Notebook[/i]. I hope [i]Prometheus[/i] is a great film and paves the way for future films. My hope also is that this film will have a phenomenal audience turnout which will maybe tell Hollywood that moviegoers are begging for better films with the whole package (good acting, writing, direction, etc).

What makes a film a success or a bomb anyway,financially speaking? I mean...I read 4 or 5 years ago that "Superman Returns" (wich I couldn't give a D*MN about) earned its money back plus about 130 or 140 million more on top of it,and that it was therefor considered a failure.What..???I consider 130 or 140 million in pure profit to be awesome!! So,if Prometheus only earns a couple hundred million beyond the production costs,will FOX consider it a "bomb"??
