MemberOvomorphMay-10-2012 8:01 AMPOSSIBLE EXISTING SPOILERS IN THEORY....So Weyland is on his ship. A man in his position and with his ambition, having a choice of spending his remaining years on earth or being first to experience and get his hands on alien technology..well, it's no choice really. The David8 model on board is pre programmed for Weyland and is protecting the old man and his scheme. Weyland has made him more of an artificial son than a standard model. When they touch down and it's established that there is indeed a ship on the planet, David is tasked with deciphering how the tech works, including how to navigate and fly the vessel. The bio-helmet (complete with head inside) they recover is scanned, and from it, information gained as to how to replicate the technology. During the mission, tension flares between Vickers and David. Vickers is aware that her father seems to care more for his creation than her. Whilst chaos ensues around them with the crew that Weyland sees now as more expendable than useful, Weyland plans to be taken to the temple by David and steal the ship and pilot it to earth. He wants to be like Prometheus and steal the fire from the gods. He says as much to Vickers who warns him, " If you go down there, you'll die". Weyland has learnt a great deal from the impregnation of Shaw and the effects of the alien bio material on his human crew. Under the cover of all the fighting, David takes Weyland and fits him into the juggernauts pilot chair using the adapted helmet they have built using the advanced 3d printing devices on board (Weyland built of course). He's a little small for it..but they've made some adaptations and the chair "blends" with it's new pilot.
At this point, as David is setting the path for Earth (having found the globe in the vast 3d star map)...the ship starts to launch, but the ENGINEER (a being created by the original SJ's, who turned on them savagely), which Weyland and David believed was occupied assaulting the Prometheus (something that David8 facilitated by letting it on board to finish off the crew who were wise to his plan), enters the chamber....
David has previously encountered the engineer in the chamber whilst examining the star map and in a spine tingling encounter, it chose (?) not to harm him...possibly seeing him as a non-sentient being, however, now as the engineer goes to attack Weyland in the pilots chair, David reacts to defend him and there is a short struggle during which Davids head is wrenched off.
The remaining crew on the Prometheus, are now fully aware of the extent of Weyland's plan and know where the ship is about to head to. They know what is on board and that Weyland has used them all as expendables. They realise what will happen if Weyland unleashes the technology on earth and those on the Prometheus, most of them infected in some way set a noble suicide course to destroy the vessel. Vickers however wants to live...she doesn't want her hated father to be the cause of her death and so she takes one of the escape pods.
The ships collide. The Prometheus hull is no match for the bio-mech ship, but it knocks it off course and sends it plunging towards the ground.
The engineer falls during the collision, just as he was about to rip Weyland from the chair. He manipulates the controls in the room and the ships speed decreases as it wrenches itself from the gravitational pull and comes to a halt nose down.
No idea beyond that except that....like the end of Alien where Ripley has to go around the ship to find Jonesy....for some reason Shaw and Vickers will go back into the derelict..possibly to find David....who may still be streaming them video. Possibly to find Weyland...or possibly because it's the only way off this rock....if they can kill the engineer......it'll be nerve jangling!!!
Just my thoughts at the moment.....any comments?

MemberOvomorphMay-10-2012 4:59 PMThat is a GREAT pic of the wheelchair...clearest I've seen.....definitely Weyland. Look at David knelt at his feet like an adoring puppy!
Where was the clip in the space suit from...it's excellent and also Weyland!!!
Amazing stuff.

MemberOvomorphMay-10-2012 5:13 PMahh i see now what you mean with the cast list and the unidentified mercenary that comparison pic of Guy Pearce is spot on too that is some badass work man I was kinda holding back but now I totally agree with some of the weyland conspiracy

MemberOvomorphMay-10-2012 5:25 PMIsn't there also a Human sized looking SJ standing over Shaw in a hallway of the human ship at the end of one of the trailers?
I'm starting agree with the "Weyland in a SJ suit" or Android Replicant theories.
Without a doubt Weyland is on that ship and any androids he took with him are not stock. If he's pushing his 90's and see's a path to immortality or becoming bio mechanical he will take it. In his Ted speech you can tell he wants to be a GOD. Also, if you read the Weyland's Website Timeline it says at the age of 14 Weyland created synthetic tissues to cure some throat disease. If he did that at 14 imagine what he could do at 90 with better tech, an android and SJ bio tech...

We're cooking with gas now!!!....rock and roll.
Someone said in my other thread that they didn't want to read the book first and ruin the film for themselves...now I respect that and each to their own...but for me, Prometheus is not about a one off two hour event. To me, having been 13 at the time I first saw the Sunday Telegraph article and pictures from some upcoming film called ALIEN, I am loving this...the weeks leading up to it...the guessing of the plot lines...the scraps of information. To me it is a whole experience that will lead up to an amazing film experience...the more insight I get either through here or from the screen play if it's released first means that when I watch the movie I feel like I have more context, more background and depth on why things are the way they are...it's not ruining it uncovering the story....I still feel the thrill of uncovering plot twists and turns...only it's more inclusive. As I say, each to their own....and it would be entirely different if... MAJOR SPOILER ALERT.....someone just came up and told me Vader was Lukes' father...END OF MAJOR SPOILER...just before I went into the cinema......this is very different. I've even gone and bought a 3D TV for this for when it comes out on Blue Ray. Funny how The Fifth Element was a catalyst in me buying a decent telly years ago... : )

Excellent screen cap......can't help wondering if he's told the Mercs to take no chances and shoot everyone on his way to the temple/ship, or if they are just aiming at mutants / aliens??
Thanks for the pic

MemberOvomorphMay-10-2012 6:05 PM@Mithra,
my pleasure...and I like your original post. I'm guessing the actual plot is going to be very similar.

Thanks for that...I think between us all we're coming up with part of the plot/twist. I work with someone not a million miles from Weyland...World famous....driven...successful...very OCD...and I have no doubt at all that were they in Weylands position, they would have absolutely no qualms in using and disposing of everyone to get what they wanted. sheesh...this guy gets his PA to phone a senior manager to come and clean his iPad screen. I certainly think Weyland will want to take everything he can and no one or thing will get in his way....is his plan....

Jim100a100
MemberOvomorphMay-10-2012 6:25 PMthat's right. In a way I think all the monsters are incidental. The movie is really about his (or "Man's") hubris and ambition leading his downfall.
My theory is that he pisses the Engineer off to point where the Engineer is like "I'm going to Earth and take care of these miscreants"
But your take on it: that it's actually Weyland in the Jockey suit works for me too. I bet a lot of those trailers are spliced and diced to mislead (big revelation, there!).

Hey Jim...just wrote a rather long response....and my browser died. In brief, I think Mans Huberis is definitely the underlying story but the main cinematic device will be the whole WOW...another world, who made us, this is all very new...kinda thing, which will be mega....and then the plot will develop and thicken.
Who ever is driving that thing when the Prometheus crashes into it...my money is on Weyland being on board in some capacity. I don't think the Engineer will have bad feelings about humanity and earth...just that thieving Weyland and his friends....after the crash, the survivors on the ground will somehow have to either convince the alien not to tar them all with the crimes of Weyland...or.....kill it. I have no idea how it will go, because I don't know if they're going for a sequel or not. I just think the underlying plot attachment to the title is that Weyland, like Prometheus, steals something from the gods (?) and will be gruesomely punished for it....I think you're right about the misdirection in the trailers as well....

MemberDeaconMay-11-2012 6:33 AMCheers...
And i have even more lol....
Yes if you look at that high res picture its more clearer, if you look at the same low res one i posted and Guy Pierce at same angle then you can see the Nose, Eyes and Mouth are the same.

Thanks for that : ) I just blurted my brains out....BigDave did the digging for the evidence.
Nice that you liked it and it provoked some thoughtful and collaborative feedback.

MemberDeaconMay-11-2012 10:43 AMWe also have to remember that Guy Pierce said in two interviews that there was a lot going on the sets and it was great to work with the cast and production team.
Maybe he is talking about other scenes and he came and saw some of them.
Maybe he is talking just about the filming of the TED Speach and his Hollogram message?
Or maybe because he was on set and location to film with the crew in a few scenes....
Note there is a Track called Weyland.... is that purely for the Hollogram scene?
I recon that track will be played when the viewers and crew first find out and see Weyland is on the Ship/Mission.

Thanks to your pics Dave, I am sure of my basic idea at the start of this thread with the only amendments so far (more to be honed as info becomes available I'm sure):
David is on board the Juggernaut getting to grips with the star map / controls when Weyland makes his bid to leave the Prometheus...after David contacts him with his progress. Things are getting too hot with the mutations and crew speculations so Weyland uses his hired Mercs to get him over to the temple complex where he plans to pilot the craft to Earth or at least off the planet where he and David will have time to figure out how to get it to Earth without anyone stopping them.
It's a breathable atmosphere in there and so he is able to get into the prepared SJ helmet and into the chair....possibly while the mercs do battle with Big n' Blue.
I am not sure if when he gets there, David is now already ripped apart or if that happens in defending Weyland.
I am hoping that somehow...we get some real SJ involvement at this point.
I have a feeling...a bit like the tale of Prometheus, that Weyland will become "bound" to the chair, as Prometheus did to the rock, and he will meet a sticky end. I'd love to believe that, if the SJ in ALIEN is a space suit, that Weyland's corpse is inside it......however, when you look at the sheer size of the arms on the SJ in the original....No Way!!!
Our plot's changing...but as Vickers says " Changing into what"?..... : D All good fun.

I love your "Weyland/Prometheus bound to the rock" idea. Brilliant. Increasingly Weyland does seem like the character most likely to end up playing god. He seems to be seeking immortality, both figuratively through his work, through his creations, through his influence... and then literally, what with the viral references to technology to reboot a human brain for five years.
Weyland reminds me a little of Steve Jobs, only a lot more evil.
I'm not seeing Vickers as his biological offspring, though. As a replicant-type organic-android-creation, yeah. But not necessarily Weyland's creation, and definitely not as his biological offspring. I'll be disappointed if I'm wrong. Vickers deserves a better story than "slighted daughter."

Thanks for that : )
I'm not entirely sure where I get the message from that Vickers is his daughter....I can see it, but like you, I feel there could be other alternatives:
1. Ambitious Senior exec
2. Yutani spy
3. New model personal android.
4. Personal bodygaurd.
5. Someone on the staff with hitherto undisclosed knowledge of the aliens
We'll see soon. I think the on screen snippets we've seen of her, although a mixture and a bit odd, do show her as a bit too emotional to come across as an android...although there is a weird snap of her standing to attention outside a door.
