Alien: Earth and Alien: Romulus sequel news

Do you think Prometheus dialogue will have any added camp value?

The latest clip from Prometheus has the following line of dialogue" Vickers asks repeatedly "What did he said" to an overwhelmed David (background of ominous music), who says "It's Confidential", but after shes grabs him from the throat he replies "He said Try Harder", as she releases him he asks ironically "Cup of tea, Ma'am?", and she pushes him away from the face threateningly . I know Ridley Scott asked David to see Joseph Losey's "The Servant" in preparation for his role of his android "butler". But the dialogue sounded pretty overblown and campy to me. More like a dramatic confrontation right out of a Dynasty or a Dallas episode. I know the clip is out of context and I know I am risking excommunication from the Overlords of this board, but I would like to know what the rest of you think about this snippet of dialogue and clip.

I felt a bit cheated by the village....could not wait to go see it.....i was so disappointed when it turned out to be a guy in a suit (oh fuck why does that sound familiar?)....well at least in Prometheus their is plenty of creatures..;) I did find the ending of the Village rather intriguing and the movie had some amazing cinematography.....but not much else....

The scene was intense with no camp in sight. Well acted with subtle emotions. I think some folks are too close to the lens. Take a step back or two, and try not to over analyze and dissect every snippet of dialogue.

I have heard that same argument over and over, I guessed it was a suit...and Loved it !!! Thought it was Superbly acted and compelling and raised a most interesting thought about religion in general. In short, I thought it got a total bum rap.

juxtapose: well, if you figure they are all pretending the outside civilised world doesn't exist and the children were born in that secluded place... it works fine to have guy inside a suit to scare them away from the outer rim border. I also thought the suit was... mheeee... but the effect on the children worked great

SIGNS to me was Pure and utter Genius and just a Brilliant picture. I escaped the every day thought patterns and worries of every day life and just fell mad hard deep into that film with total Glee and Joy...To me that film is what Sci-FI Horror films should use as a freaking BIBLE !!! Why more films like that one and one's about Crop Circles aren't made I will never understand!

Wow I have completely different taste in movies then most people here it seems. I walked out of the theatre during signs. It was to me dreadful. I couldn't be bothered to finish watching it. I had a free pass when i was working at a comic store. it wasn't even worth free. I guess they picked the wrong store for promotion as I was pretty much slammed it to anyone who asked me about it. If anything, the character of David will ruin aspects of prometheus for me. The movie does not need comic relief. It just needs good characters and a good storytelling. And more then anything fucking TIGHT scriptwriting. Scriptwriting and plotting in Hollywood are at an all time low. Like people needs 4-5 more stages of editing. Every film i have seen lately has huge continuity errors plaguing it. One or two more re-writes, or a tighter editing crew at the scripting stage might do it a world of good. Then again, this could also be cases of directors seeing a different "vision" of the movie and ruining a good tight script with their own ideas. I am sure that happens quite a bit. Maybe it is the fault of the general movie going population demanding more visually and less and less plot and characterization. Whatever it is, it makes, for me, going to movies a very unenjoyable experience. It's sad when the average Roger Corman movie makes more sense then some of the highest grossing movies of all time (I am looking at you Transformers Trilogy). Rant ends. Again, just my opinions I expect no one to share them and always love reading why people enjoy different aspects of filmmaking. The only thing it does is increases my knowledge base and what to do when i am working on things.

"Signs" was terrible... So was "The Happening" What is with the deadpan/blank acting in those movies?? They were as bad as Twilight for dialogue and blank stares from the actors. I just saw the extended David/Vickers scene, (ty Arkadine). David seems VERY passive aggressive and awkward, no wonder people have trouble relating to him.. As for child actors, Dakota Fanning and Kirsten Dunst were amazing.

Spartacus, they were horrible movies... The storyline for "Signs" was stupid too, WHY would an advanced alien race try and take over a planet that is made of 75% acid??? Water was like acid to them, it's even in the air we breathe.. How could they not know?? OMG that bugged me worse than the cold acting.

Overlords, eh? :-D You may continue your ruminations, peasant, however you must make a tithe of roast pig to your Overlords first before doing so :-P we shall be more inclined to listen to your rambling drivel with bellies full of pork..... :-D Just kidding, not about the pork though ;-)
