10 Points I expect from the sequel 1. to come fast, dont want to wait till 2015 to get the puzzle fixed 2. screenplay by another writer, dont trust lindelof at all, dont like his pseudo-intellectual riddler-style 3. weird creator homeplanet/technology that is complete different then we would expect. No cliches, pleaze! 4. some intelligent (!) philosophy about source and dumbness of religious beliefs. 5. a plot that makes me shit my trousers and freezes the blood in my venes. A plot that changes my life... 6. Answers to all major questions of part 1 (meaning of sacrifizing engineer, where we invited to the weapon planet lv-223, who made the engineers, whats the purpose of them, why they wanted to distroy mankind, who did make us, why are we here) 7. deep, unexpected and desillusioning philosophy about the "meaning" of mankind (maybe we were not created, maybe earth was just some kind of "dna waste planet" where the creators desposit their not needed dna and/or poison waste and by pure random these stuff leaded to evolution and mankind? Would be happy if there comes out that life just means nothing at all - our existence is banal and we are no part of a higher plan. Brilliant! 8. dont want at all some "simple" cliche/pseudo-moralized answers like "mankind became bad so they wanted to destroy us" or "creators give us a last chance" blah (like in the day the earth stood still. i want ANSWERS and no new QUESTIONS! 9. some explanation about xenomorphs - designed, or created by accident? Maybe see the development process / some alien scientific experiments... 10. NEW ideas! NEW philosophy! DEEP thoughts! Unseen Look! Make my brain and heart BURN!

1. to come fast, dont want to wait till 2015 to get the puzzle fixed Agreed, but 2015 seems more likely (at best). Ridley has LOTS of irons in the fire. 2. screenplay by another writer, dont trust lindelof at all, dont like his style I seriously doubt he'll be on the next project. All indications point in that direction. 3. weird creator homeplanet that is complete different then we would expect Don't hold your breath. The Engineers are modeled off of Greek and Roman statuary, and Arthur seemed rather comfortable working on Gladiator. LOL. I predict that the home world architecture will skew towards the motifs of the exterior of the Juggernaut at best. 4. some intelligent (!) philosophy about source of religion "Intelligent" is in the brain of the beholder. I am hopeful that the hints for this (in terms of the Engineers' religion) will begin falling into place when the redacted "Sacrifice Ceremony" footage is returned to Prometheus (presumably in October). If you want to know where HUMAN religion comes from, I would suggest starting with "fear of the unknown." You might even be able to end there as well. 5. a plot that makes me shit my trousers and freezes the blood in my venes I think this will depend largely on the nature of Engineer culture on their home world at the time that Shaw and David show up, presuming they make it that far. If the Engineers have gotten themselves into a particularly desperate situation, you may even get some feces in your veins. 6. deep and desillusioning philosophy about the "meaning" of mankind (maybe we were not created but exist by pure accident or earth was just some kind of "dna waste planet" where the creators desposit their not needed dna and/or poison waste and by pure random these stuff leaded to evolution and mankind? Would be happy if there comes out that life just means nothing at all - our existence is banal and we are no part of a higher plan You may want to just go on and make that solution up for yourself. I seriously doubt that FOX would go for anything quite that dark. Most nihilists are not prone to rush out to put on 3D glasses and pay $15~30 to reconfirm their suspicions.

hold off on the space squids and cobras lets see some real aliens...I know that's kind hard a cause truthfully humans might be the most precious creation in the universes. If you don't believe that then your just a monkey scratchin your ass....completely lost and perfect prey for aliens to suck your brains through your eye ball T.v.S They invading VIA a delicious black goo in a can

Well, nihilism is the most feasible philosophy - IMO... hehe Nature does not know whats right or wrong - things happen value-free. Only mankind relies on the madness to give thinks "weight". If tomorrow an asteroid crashes earth and everything is dead - who cares when nobody is left to care and "weight"? This happens every day somewhere in the universe... Only if someone is left to care there can be thought about a tragedy happening, as this last person living is also mired in some illusions like the rest of mankind... Why is mankind "precious"? We destroy. No matter how "good and holy" our resolution may be - all we do leads fast or slow to destruction, thats our nature. Not able to plan longer then a few years, lost in narcism, fear, emotional confusions... If another species would act like mankind does - we would fight them with all we have, wouldn't we? Is just at all a big eyewash what we do day by day to avert truth from our minds... as we can not bear it. Yes, maybe thats dark. But life is not a pony-ranch, though disney tells us so...

Seems like expectations killed the film for a lot of people. They expected something that can't be achieved. Therefore they end up saying a very good film is shit. If this film had nothing to do with Alien and Scott a lot of the people that hate it would think it was classic or at least a good film. Not saying everyone that hates it but definitely some.

For a sequel Talk about the story of the Yutani Industries Returning to LV:223 Collecting all the Vases/jars from all the ships A giant Space Station on a different planet Creating new life from vases on living things/dead corpses Slow suspense, Horror and a bit of Action No CGI except for space atmosphere 6-12 interesting characters with alot of screen time That's what I expect for a sequel

I always thought that the space jockey in Alien was really huge but also bonded to his chair and I mean permanently cause that;s what a biomechanical alien world is. It;s really Giger's universe and I kind a miss the spookey creep dead but living aspect of design in the Derelict. The thing was skeletal but cold blooded and alive. It's the kind a place that if you walk into it you do not come out cause even the walls can get ya with vine-like extensions and bond you into it's bowels.

I agree the next sequel they should go back to LV-223 only briefly though as they try to follow Shaw and David. Who knows maybe they'll find some interesting stuff on LV-349 on the way out to the Home world. We should stop for space coffee taco's N' hoots at the last space station/mining asteriods N"Gases N' Iceriods collectionS. I like to see lots of ships and space mining factories in a grander scale than the Nostromo and Rigs parked at PIGGY's kind a deal Both Human and alien technological world's in 3D but better than Avatar.

This is why I expect: Just get it done before Ridley leaves this Earth and before the world collapses economically, socially, atmospherically, whatever.......... I don't expect answers to everything, what is the fun with that..........just to bash other's ideas because they didn't meet your expectations or they didn't outsmarted us. however my own personal faves would be: 1.- David and Shaw should get back on screen. 2.- See what happens to the LV223 deacon alien............and end the debate of the Xeno being an accident, bioweapon or a pure alien race. 3.-Get a glimpse of the real engineer world............or is it PARADISE. 4.- If there is a PARADISE..... then there would also be a HELL..... or some sort of CHAOTIC planet......xeno's homeworld maybe. 5.- More creatures, mutations, weird stuff...........

-Scrap those Engineers looking liking us/or the Space Jockey crap. Come on with some idea that those Aliens imitated the real Space Jockeys. Seriously, I was disappointed that the Space Jockey from Alien was something that resembled that idiot sacrificing himself in the beginning. -Bring back the colonial marines or some for of group (not like the dumb mercenaries in Alien:Resurrection) of bad assess that fight these creatures. Like someone said; have better ALIENS (I hate that word xenomorph) that are more scarier than the one we came to know. -Better cast and to be honest, some more B-list movie stars to round the cast -want it to be scary looking and more disgusting scenes.

Here's what i'd like to see in the sequel : Old school special effects. Let's see if someone will make a movie without a CGI alien for once. Maybe they'd save some coin too. Remember Alien? It was a dude in a suit. That's scary. (And of course bring back the Deacon.)

1) there was a SECOND ORBITING SPACE CRUISER observing the Prometheus Event on LV-223. 2) H.R. Giger is given ONE LAST CHANCE to art-direct an ADULT alien/engineer film. 3) long live the human disease of BELIEVING THE IMPLAUSIBLE. :) Free Planet

I don't expect anything! Prometheus lowered the bar all the way to the floor, which I guess is one plus of a possible sequel. But I was so disappointed with this film I couldn't really care less if they made a sequel or not anymore.

Can we say what I'd like rather than what I expect? Hmmmm, to make the sequel absolutely mind numbing eh. Fill in the background of humanity with the data from the Weyland Corp site. Let me know a little about the society those people live in. That way I'm not flabbergasted by their apparent lack of wonder at the things they are finding. If there are literally dozens of colonies with populations in the millions than let me know it so that I don't get the idea this was mankinds first venture out into the vast black unknown. Let me see what a typical day is for someone that lives in the near 22nd century, then let me contrast it with what Shaw encounters at the end of her journey. You can use flashbacks to fill in her history, flesh out her character, bring her to life. While the engineers are interesting, lack of nipples yet they still have a navel. The scientist in me notices details like that. As Weyland manipulated the entire human race in order to propel us into a position where he could request what for him was the most pertinent gift imaginable, let me glimpse him through the eyes of his creation David. It would perhaps give me some much needed answers as to how one man, obviously inherited so much more of the potential primordeal genetic precursors than his contemporaries. Just look at the Weyland website, the man single handedly saved the ozone layer, and revived the space program, and economy of a PLANET. If you want to propose that our past was influenced by repeated visits by the engineers, give me just one little smidgeon of the ability of this material to pass through thousands of generations, and perhaps result in offspring that have that optimal mix of evolution that enabled them to connect to the engineer race in a way that didn't involve physical manifestations. Those ancient cultures all has mystics, shaman, or other individuals that could divine things from sources that defied explanation. They might have had the ultimate racial memory. Who's to say they didn't remember bits of the experiences of that first engineer that began the entire process. Mostly I want something BIGGER than the engineers. I want to believe at the heart of all these questions, and theories is something truely ALIEN.

the only thing i really want / need / expect... is for Ridley Scott to chill out on the rushed way of telling a story like he has been doing (sadly) for the past few years. i want a bit more pensiveness in this tentative sequel, some mystery let me enjoy the moment, rather than rushing us all thru to the next scene and so on... and do NOT overly score this new film, PROMETHEUS had way too much score when there should have been only dialog / atmosphere to drive the scene home a longer cut next time...!!! don't give us all 1:59 minutes of ADHD storytelling just to fit into some previous movie mold i get that most folks are putting much of the blame from their dissatisfaction of PROMETHEUS on Lindelof, (which i feel is more than understandable) but i feel that it was / is SCOTT'S sole responsibility to deliver a great film but, it is what it is...and i am hoping against hope that this next PROMETHEUS universe film will deliver on what this film promised... one last detail; PLEASE have Giger design ALL of the Engineer and alien elements, it makes no sense to have someone else try and replicate what only Giger can do best...

Personally I want to: 1) A second expedition to LV-223 (maybe and expedition of Yutani) to see what the crew of the Prometheus were found and where David and Shaw. This second expedition would be composed of colonial marines and then they fight with Deacon and his descendants. 2) On the other hand we will see Shaw and David coming to the planet of Engineers for answers (perhaps some details of the aspects of biology, culture and society of the Engineers). There they discover that the Engineers were created by another alien race even more powerful than them. So maybe there was a war 2000 years ago, a sort of revelion of the hosts of angels / demigods leaving the race of Engineers almost extinct. 3) But the most important of all: NO MORE LINDELOF!!! because I think we need some answers and this guy clearly does not give them to us.

Now that's something ........ Yes.... pleeeeease bring back H.R. (Hans Ruedi) Giger on the filmsets... Make his wildest dreams comes true once again... Please make us scared once more with the Giger's craziest designs... Please make possible Prometheus with the HR Giger's advices and his wildest designs.. He make the Alien (1979) movie into scarriest movie in the hollywood history with his Airbrush on the sets.. He can make again one more time, not only make "banal thanks" for Giger in the end-title screen... Make the second Prometheus with him and wrote your names in the history again ;))

lindelost, I love those Creator imaginings; nicely Fifield-esque. Anatomy makes more sense, based on original SPACE JOCKEY ossification. Prometheus 2: 2014 OPENING SCENE PARADISE 2098 Four croissant shapes arrive in Earth above the mega-city of Paradise. Croissants interlock like a four-leafed clover. Black Rain starts to pour from their bomb bay doors... Cut to: Noomi Rapace struggling to control her croissant bomber back through a timewarp dangerhole swirling with electromagnetic flares and lightning strikes. I'm thinking, 'that scene from Flight of the Navigator'. David off to one side, watching; smiling. Can Elizabeth Shaw save mankind from what's already taking place? LOL, gimme that scripting job TODAY, I'll f**cken do it. And I'll explain Face of Boe, and Chinese-not-Cuneiform script on canisters of black goo.

1.) Answers to at least SOME of the questions raised by Prometheus. 2.) The return of HR Giger to the design team. 3.) Clear progress towards the opening of ALIEN. 4.) A different composer. 5.) More action and more horror. I think Prometheus 2 should be to the prequel trilogy what ALIENS was to the ALIEN films. 6.) Would not mind introduction to yet another alien species. Perhaps a race the Engineers are at war with? 7.) A followup to the Deacon. What happened to it? What was the effect of it's creation?

I expect it to not be a huge downer/disappointment like Prometheus. That is all... Ok ok.. seriously, though. I don't want it to be a huge letdown. I don't want it to disappoint like Prometheus. I want more Engineer action. I don't want them to turn out to be some bad guys... would be quite lame. More on them, more on their culture. Their purpose/outlook on life. MORE ENGINEERS. No sporadic sequences. No more quick, Alien VS Predator scenes, llike Janek's hand-job scene (Prometheus crashing into the Engineer ship) Finding the temple immediately. DUMB characters. None of that nonesense, and sillyness.

What do I expect from ALIEN 8? The same thing I expect from ALIEN 9 and ALIEN 10. I expect it to suck worse than ALIEN 7, which sucked worse than ALIEN 6, which sucked worse than ALIEN 5, which sucked worse than ALIEN 4, which sucked worse than ALIEN 3. ...and I expect I'll probably go see it, anyway.

I think there will be plot holes if a Earth Mission ends up on LV 223 and survives, if they get there they have to end up nearly all dying and then destroy LV 223. With maybe on survivor who gives nothing away..... or else you imagine the effect on the Alien Universe because in Alien and Aliens the Corp new little or nothing about the Xeno and also why not go visit LV 223 instead of LV 426. I think the movie will go the route of going to the Home World. The reason for the Deacon is to show us that a series of events in Prometheus can lead to a Organism similar to the Xeno. And so makes a connection between Xeno, Engineers and Black Substance.

Some very interesting comments on this site. A lot of food for thought! In a sequel, I'd like to see a bit more of how the Enginners are connected to the Xenos, i.e. more details on how these Engineers created the Xenos, or how they discovered them, used them... In Giger art piece Hieroglyphics for the first Alien movie: We can see the Xeno life cycle, with the Engineers actually present. Egg, facehugger, host (which seems to be an Engineer), and chestburster are all present. What's interesting and peculiar is the Xeno-and-slightly-human figure at the top of the image. Its body and limbs surround the protrait, and it or she is laying the egg in question. Could this be the first type of Xeno Queen? It would be interesting if they explored this in future films. Also, I have some books at home which mention that the Enginners created the Xenos and their Queen as weapons of destruction and creation. But the Xenos here are described as first generation, with characteristics of Human, Xeno and Engineer species (a mixture of organic, humanoid and biomechanical). The books refer to Giger's art piece Li II: They refer to it as a possible representation of the very first Xeno Queen, with characteristics of all species (which are in fact one species). It's beautiful, yet eerie! Lastly, I would love to see the Xeno and/or Engineer Homeworld in a sequel. Hopefully it will have the look of the Engineers' ships and technology and the kind of biomechanical feel of the Xenos, a bit like some of Giger's artwork of Alien Landscapes. Here is one of many: Cheers!
