This thread is about hypothesizing 1) what will be answered, 2) what will be included in that 20-30 minutes of additional footage.
and 3) WILL THEY SUBTITLE WHAT DAVID TOLD THE ENGINEER!!?!?
discuss :)

@The Truth
Don't get your anger dude. My response was in direct response to the discussion at hand. The blu-ray release.
You may find it hard to believe - but YES I am actually going to buy the blu-ray.
Its hard for me to internalise why I will be doing this - but the same thing happened to me with The Star Wars prequels. I purchased the lot!
And apart from Sith they where badly written abominations (not that Sith was a screenplay masterpiece!) Maybe I am a sucker for punishment? Maybe I feel if I watch them enough times I will grow to like them and be able to accept there link to the masterpiece originals..?
Either way, I will be running through these painful motions with the big P!
Peace.

PS I would like to see more footage and info regarding the Engineers. This was the side of the film where more should have been shown....

Meh.....he's got a right to speak...so do I..its what this is all about
Everyone has got a right to speak. Whether anyone wants to hear it, listen to it or even give a flying flip is a totally different topic.
I've just picked out certain names of members and skip right over there negative, imo pointless posts.
However there are people who didn't like the film who actually have respect for those of us who did. I, in turn have respect for them and read their posts.
If everyone will begin doing this maybe we can have a more pleasurable time on the board.

Do the bumpty-bump!
As everyone knows I like questions...I like ambiguity...I like to ponder and think and make up my own mind. I'm with PKD in that I believe that answers very rarely live up to your expectations. It's the journey to make up my own mind that is the most fun imo. This film takes that to the deepest level which is what I like most about it. Visuals being a close, close second.
That said, what I can't wait for on the blu ray is not answers from Scott or Lindeloff but getting to see the making of the film. IMO Scott films ALWAYS have the best behind the scenes features. The Kingdom of Heaven 5 disc DC is an excellent exapmle. Just endless, endless features. Of course hearing Ridley and Lindeloff talk about the story and plot will be very interesting but I just don't think that people looking for all the answers are going to get them. If you're expecting or even want all the answers I think you've missed what the film actually is or that maybe, just maybe, the film might not be you're cup o' tea no matter how much you want to like it. I also think that you might just be let down.

Hate to say this.... But I doubt RS will be spilling anything big in the blu-ray, especially not the questions that Shaw asks at the end. He has sequels planned after all.
But I agree on seeing more on the Engineers.
I'd be sorely disappointed if they dump in any Holloway scenes

They are going to cash in on this movie you bet your bottom dollar....
After the Blue-Ray there would be a lot of extras and there would be the added gore.....
But i dont know if they would add a few deleted scenes such as Shaw vs Bob the full cut and the Sacrificial Engineer scene full cut.
Instead i expect after the DVD is released, and maybe on that date in December we may see them bring out a SE or Extended Cut at the Box Office and so months after Blue-Ray comes out we also see a Extended Version.
This will have those scenes added back in the movie....
THE OLD FOX CASH COW! ....... Milk every drop!

As for Answers....
I dont think Ridley will give a direct translation of what David said, i think he may hint at what was said i.e David said something on purpose to upset the Engineer or David told the Engineer what Weyland wanted to ask.
I do think Ridley will add a Interview where he will give us the ANSWER or clues to Alien and LV 426
They would be what he has said in past 6 months but all added together.
1) The Derelict was carrying a Cargo of Bio Weapons.
2) It was leaving LV 223 to head somewhere else.... (wont say where)
3) One of the Derelicts Cargo had got lose and got to the Pilot.
4) The Pilot had to then make a Emergency Landing on LV 426 and set off a Warning Beacon.
5) This event happened 200 years prior to the downfall of the Engineers on LV 223 so happened around 100-200 BC.
Ridley has already said the above and i think he will again so as to please those who never got answers...
But we may never find out how/when/where/why the Xeno was created, maybe not until after Prometheus 3.

@The High Priest
We wont be seeing much about the Engineers, as i am sure Ridley wants to keep his cards to his chest and use Prometheus 2 to cover the story of who they are, where they came from and what their purpose is.
Thats why i would not be surprised that the Elder Engineer scene in Full will only appear in Prometheus 2...
I think when Shaw goes and asks why and how we was created (remember Shaw would have no knowledge of the Water Fall scene that we saw). I feel we would cut to a Flash Back where it will show the full Elder Engineer scene up to the point when the Sacrificial Engineer is given the Bowl/Vial and heads off....... we would then know that what happens after this is the first scene in Prometheus.

@ The High Priest
You Are Spot On, 100% Spot On I Totally Agree With You.
I Am A Huge Alien And Prometheus Fan. So Maybe In Defence Of Ridley Scott And Prometheus I Would Like To Run A Few Theories/Statements/Ideas/”Just Wondered If” By You. This Is Not To Judge Or Fight With You Since You Are Very Correct In What You Say And I Am In Total Agreement.
Theories/Statements/Ideas/”Just Wondered If”:
1.) Ridley Scott Wanted Prometheus To Be An R Rated Film.
2.) Ridley Scott Wanted To Do An Alien 5/ Alien Prequel / Movie Explaining Sj And Purpose Of Eggs On Ship Since There Was A Huge Demand From Years Of Blog Speculation.
3.) Times Are Hard And In The Current Economic Environment Worldwide Any Company Would Like To See A Return On Investment.
4.) At The Following Link(Posted Previously In A Thread Of Mine) : Http://Io9.Com/5917448/All-Of-Your-Lingering-Prometheus-Questions-Answered
Damon Lindelof Makes The Following Statement:
“All I'll Say In Response To Your Question Is, Nothing Is An Accident In Prometheus. Every Single Decision That Is Made By Ridley Scott Is Made For A Very Specific Reason And Purpose.”
5.) As You Will See In This Discussion Lindelof And Ridley Discussed The Story In Great Detail And It Seems To Me That Ridley Had The Final Say In What The Plot Was Going To Be Which Seems To Sugest To Me That Ridley Had A Very Detailed An Accurate Idea In What He Wanted To Do In A Sequel For Prometheus And Therefore In Prometheus Itself. So The Character Development, Plot Line, Dialogue, Illogical Decissions By The Crew Etc. Was All Deliberate Things Put Into The Story By Ridley. Someone Like Ridley Scott Wouldn’t Things Like That Up To Chance.
So From The Above I Would Like To Draw The Following Conclusions:
Ridley Had To Able To Ensure Fox That An R Rated Movie Would Be Able To Pay For Itself And In The Long Run Continue To Bring In Revenue Long After It’s Theatrical Release While Stimulating Interest In A Sequel. So I Feel Ridley Was Between A Rock And A Hard Place But Felt Even Though The Movie Wouldn’t Outright Please The Die Hard Alien Fan It Least Would Continue The Franchise Of The Alien Universe And Continue To Give Us Hope To Get Those Questions Answered.
In Trying To Keep Everybody Happy He Had To Come To A Compromise That First Pleased Fox Then The Fans While Finishing The Years Of Speculation About The Unsolved Mysteries. Yes This Film Had To Guarantee R Rated Commercial Success In Economically Very Hard Times For All.
So Maybe A Few Years Down The Line Well See That Maybe Ridley Was Doing Something That We Should Thank Him For (Keeping The Franchise Alive).
But Only If He Does The Sequel And Finishes What He Started In Prometheus.
If The Sequel Doesn’t Solve Some Of The Mysteries Of Alien (Not Prometheus) Then I Fear That The Sequel Will Be The Last Alien Universe Movie Most People Will Pay To Watch.
I Hope I Am Wrong.
Do You Agree With Me ?
I Am Simply Trying To Give Ridley The Benefit Of The Doubt. He Has Done Good So Many Times Why Would He Deliberately Mess Up A Movie Like This?
This Is Why I Have To Assume There Is Method In His Madness.
