This actually made me LOL, thank you. But per the OP, a robot can not have a sexual orientation. Remember, he understands human emotions, although he can not feel them himself. I think it's safe to say Weyland and David were not shacking up together. LOL

I think the whole question is very interesting. The post is not about gay people and gay rights. I intended to focus on the possibility of a gay relationship between Weyland and David, and I think the possibility is the most important factor of this issue. I have never watched Prometheus with 'gay thoughts' in my mind - wow, that's a strange sentence - but Scott's new comment regarding the first minutes of Alien: Covenant pushed the limits in my view. Scott hints that the beginning of the movie (with more info about the relationship between Weyland and David) will be shocking.

Irrelevant and pointless?

As you know, Blade Runner (directed by Scott), reveals a scene where Tyrell (the creator) and the (created) replicant 'hero' have a kiss.

This is not a gay kiss - or at least it is much more than a gay kiss. It is a kiss between creator and creation. It is an act of becoming one. It is an act of a covenant?

Tyrell - replicant and Weyland - android... Creators and creations. Irrelevant?

Blade Runner: a kiss before death (of the creator)...

Alien: Covenant: a kiss after birth (of the creation)...?

Well the MORB is somewhat of a dickhead.

As a gay guy I can honestly say that I think he is gayer then tom cruise getting double teamed by a rainbow colored dolphin. He might have been programmed to be that way unlike humans who are born gay. Although I think androids are sexually ambiguous. They could go either way based on their motives. I don't think weyland was gay. David (Fassbender) is another story though. He does know how to make a great martini and colors his roots like a champ. He could totally come hang out with me whenever he wants. But he has to wear that skin tight space suit lol.

Thus, Posh-Lawrence-British accent, plus his butler status, combined with his robotic movements made him effectual.

I think there's probably a discussion to be had on sex synths in Alien films, even though it's never been touched on in the films (and not one that shouts "gayest moments" in all caps).  With Real Dolls catering to lonely souls, one could imagine a synthetic sex partner that could be turned on and off as required would help with the popularity of androids with consumers.  On the other hand, androids in these films seem extraordinarily exclusive and likely expensive.

So David is neat, intelligent and cares about his personal appearance. I don't see what is gay about that. I am pretty sure he would have a witty and scathing response if asked the question.
