Ahh, dear gods, help me not spoil myself! I can't take it!

MemberOvomorphMay-09-2017 6:50 PMI am dying over here. Do I read the spoilers? No, I can't. But I really want to. BUT I WON'T. So it's killing me. Am I alone?? I come here daily and read the thread titles, just to torture myself.

dk
MemberTrilobiteMay-09-2017 7:36 PMI think you may be alone. Those whom avoid spoilers tune out. That tells me you want spoilers. GIVE IN.......you will feel much better ;)
That said, I respect if you can hold out!

MemberOvomorphMay-09-2017 7:38 PMI literally do the same thing. Right there with you not even exaggerating.

MemberOvomorphMay-09-2017 7:49 PM@dk AHHHHHHHH!! You're not helping! ;) I haven't had a real, legit surprise since my son was born almost 14 years ago. I NEED this.
@deftones1986 Yay! Thanks! You are my new BF. <3 How are you hanging in there??

MemberOvomorphMay-09-2017 9:24 PMJazzHands and deftones1986 - glad you found each other ))) I like (or don't mind rather) spoilers and would often read the plot synopsis on Wikipedia or wherever before even seeing a given film. It does not bother me, does not destroy the experience for me. And this A:C anticipation has become an addiction, not harmful I guess but still an addiction, and I am enjoying the process of soaking in anything that surfaces related to this film!

MemberTrilobiteMay-09-2017 9:33 PMHonestly, I wanted to avoid Prometheus spoilers. Then I found this site. I took it all in and didn't even see the movie until the blue ray showed up. By that time, I suspended everything and watched it a few times straight. I felt about Prometheus how I would have without spoilers- David was great and everything else wasn't. I see no reason why it would be any different now.

JonesRules
MemberOvomorphMay-09-2017 9:37 PMwords of wisdom dk, and nearly matches my experience with Prometheus (I got it from i-Tunes first and later blu-ray), which was great, and I expect nothing less (at least) from Covenant

MemberTrilobiteMay-09-2017 10:33 PMJonesRules On a side note- I was tracking Life half heartedly and just thought that I would like it and avoided spoilers and reviews. I knew that I would just pre order it and enjoy at my own leisure. I figure everyone has been paid, my purchase supports it and I don't feel the need for the so called theatre experience. I like to pause and rewind bits and such. It will be the same for AC. I feel great for those who want the full on theatre experience though- to each his/her own spoilers or not.

dk
MemberTrilobiteMay-09-2017 10:52 PMThe only thing is that when I see it and get all excited, people say things like- what- you just saw it NOW? Ahh, IDC!

MemberPraetorianMay-09-2017 11:17 PMCome to the Dark Side....
Kidding aside, I love spoilers, but I know most don't.
That said, hang-on, it's not that much longer, you've made it this far, right?
You can make it just a little bit further.

MemberTrilobiteMay-09-2017 11:27 PMI am fine with spoilers. I just hate sitting in a big room with other people! I like waiting and watching on my terms even if I miss the short lived "water cooler" discussions with the cool people.

MemberPraetorianMay-10-2017 12:27 AMyeah Im on the no-spoiler ride too. Must.not.be.tempted!!

MemberFacehuggerMay-10-2017 4:58 AMEvery time I feel the urge to click on the spoiler-ridden posts, I pick up Lord Jim by Conrad instead. I'll be finished tomorrow at this rate!
Also just bought my tickets for the IMAX May 18th showing. This wait is painful.
What's the story, MUTHUR?

MemberChestbursterMay-10-2017 5:01 AMGIVE in to the desire!
Seriously. You'll feel better, just like DK said. Just like a lot of people read the book before the movie, you can see the "spoilers" without truly being spoiled. Just enjoy the experience without getting uptight over what you already think you know. Life's too short to stress about such minor things.

JazzHands
MemberOvomorphMay-10-2017 6:54 AMIt's nice to know that I'm in good company. Thanks BWW, IRaptus and HappyXeno. :)
@starlogger I know in the grand scheme of life that this is a completely trivial thing. But I have had so little to look forward to lately, this is something I want to fully enjoy and go into with pure excitement. EIGHT MORE DAYS!

MemberChestbursterMay-10-2017 7:31 AM@Jazzhands I totally understand. I wish you well. Just don't stress and IMMERSE yourself in spoilers and nonspoilers. BUT...IGNORE ALL REVIEWS. You don't need to hear someone elses opinions. Those are the only things that I find tend to truly RUIN a film experience...the "spoilers" NEVER ruin a film for me.
