I beileieve that those vials contain EXACTLY what was wrtitten in one of the earlier leaked fake plotlines. "BIOFORMER" a viscous liquid which can be programmed and used to develop several different species of creatures but all of which are commonly used as TERRAFORMING BIO-WEAONS that make it possible to inhabit otherwise inhabitable planets.

I agree, I haven't had this kind of anticipation for a movie in a long long time. I've pretty much been disappointed by so many films over the years I'd shut myself down. There has been some good ones here and there but none have made me join a site like this and count down the days like obsessed madman.

I prefer my science fiction to be heavy on the science part. The fiction is the future applications of science and how the creation of character. Otherwise it is fantasy, which is fine (let Scott and Gieger redo LOTR so we can see some really messed up orcs). I guess I just don't see releasing xeno's on a wolrd to cleanse it for teraforming as a very efficent way to do it (along with really messy). Scott can do anything he wants with the story but I think if we look at his track record, he is tried to work with in the framework of the real world.

101 days, to be precise. But, I share your excitement. There's no other more interesting movie than Prometheus coming this year, and honestly I've never been this excited for an upcoming movie in my life.
Well, there is The Dark Knight Rising, which I'm sure will be good, but Prometheus has a tighter grip on me.

I was reluctant at first but bought "The Vault" and I love it !!!
I learned so many things I did NOT know already reading it.
Some notes...
I have begiun to believe that The Crew Of prometheus will look at the EARTH first, and discover some ANNUNAKI like clues here on Earth that send them into space on a completely unanticipated trajectory..and that this is where the fun will begin.
They will steal something, probabaly those URNS, their creators aren't going to be pleased, and Mankind will be targeted for punishment.
What we are seeing in the Traile at the end of it, is the beginning of the last 8 minutes of the film...it's the Derelict crashing on LV-426...100%...and the 8 minutes after that are going to tie this thing in to "Alien".
What will be left to do in any other sequel or prequel will be filling in the connection details I believe.

Something like this in the film, say being the true 'Creator' and like a paarasite inside of the 'Space Jockeys' would not ruin the film. However, it would dissapoint as it would not be an original idea; “The Wrath of Khan” Ceti Eel, "The Stargates" Goa'uld, "The Outer Limits", Tempests........ as well as "The Hidden", "Dark CIty", "The Puppet Masters", "The Faculty", etc............
Please don't do it Ridley...........

Cain1977, agreed about TDKR. It should still be a good movie to go to and see exactly how it plays out versus our per-conceived notions based on all the "leaks". Prometheus, on the other hand... I have no idea... and I love it!
I think next year's Oscars will be interesting as I believe 2012 is looking like one of the better years for movies in a long time.

What is also great about this film is how secretive it has been so far. I was excited for the Dark Knight but too much has been leaked out and I already kind of know what will happen. With Prometheus, I have no clue. All I can do is speculate on what can happen. I am truly looking forward to this film in June and will probably be the only film I am interested in and oh, the Hobbit because I love JRR Tolkien's work....lol

Indeed a great film and I really liked the fact they got the actors to play out the parts instead of just standing in a studio booth

The film was just brilliant for me, I have seen it about 12 times so far and each time I do I notice somethign else that's new. The noon time scene in the town is the kind of scene that drives Hollywood beserk with pleasure and I have to say of all the ANIMATED FILMS i HAVE EVER SEEN THAT ONE WAS BY FAR THE MOST ENTERTAING. But too each their own, what one man thinks is art another will say is crap...but if you are like me and can appreciate a really well written, no scratch that, a brilliantly writtent movie, than you'll love this thing~

This is, honestly and without a doubt, the only movie I'm looking forward to seeing this year. I check out the new film trailers weekly, and there's simply nothing in the same league as Prometheus. In terms of scope, themes, art and production, talent, everything.
This film will be like the best single malt scotch, aged 33 years.

I thought the animation was phenomenal (ILM's first fully animated film) and I did enjoy it, just not as much as you spartacus. My favorite animated film is The Incredibles. Animation wasn't quite as good, but enjoyed the story more.

Can't really be 100% certain, but is this David kneeling down in front of the old guy???
If this old guy becomes the tall blue guy or Shaw's baby becomes the tall blue guy; it is probably late in the film and if David is still David here then can't see him changing......

That scene where Kane peers over the platform and looks up to see the SJ is amazing. I love it when the camera pans back and reveals the whole scene and just how small Kane is when compared to the Seated Jockey.
With Prometheus, I believe Scott has the chance to do what he did not get to do in Alien. After reading the Vault, there was so much that he wanted to do and I think in this film, he will finally show more as he wanted, grant it not the Alien and I am fine with that. To see what the Alien was before human incubation is going to be awesome and frightening at the same time.

ReplyEGR101Prometheus ForumParadise Plot (Possible Spoilers!)Feb 27, 2012
The difference between this plot & many others that I have read is that the humans are divided between followers/believers of the Alien God & non-followers. This type of conflict not only has modern topicality, it is almost universal & timeless.
It may explain the 2 mercenary types firing at "something" in the teaser. The old, frail guy behind them maybe the Engineer with God technology they are trying to protect. The other group may have foreseen the potential destructiveness of such technology and decides to go against the believers/followers of a false God.
Other plot just outlines the stealing of "God" technology and consequently the Wrath of God. I think PROMETHEUS 2, if it is greenlighted by Fox, may be about the fight for Earth survival after the initial attack is thwarted.

ReplyCypherPrometheus ForumTrollingFeb 27, 2012
In the spirit of the discussion, I will tell you guys why I reacted the way I did with the fool we suffered recently.
I will admit that I had a personal problem with our previous troll Ushbuck because of the vileness he was spewing, and this is the last you will hear of it from me.
The problem I had was that a very good friend of mine was raped and nearly murdered, (her throat was slashed and she was lef todie in the driveway of her house.... luckily her parents found her.... she was 15 at the time) she went from being outgoing, friendly, willing to help anyone in need, to a complete hermit for several years, not talking to even her parents about what had happened to her. It took many many years for her to even consider going outside to the beach or anything, and even now she still suffers from nightmares and anxiety attacks, however one day she decided that she was not going to let the man that had done this awful thing to her win, she went on to get her Registered Nurse's certificate and today is studying for a doctorate in pshycology to help other women that have gone through the same sort of thing she did. She has nothing but my absolute respect and support for having the will to survive and continue her life the way she wants to live.
So that is why I had no tolerance for him, and I believe I reacted in a way that I would normally not react. So here I am personally going to apologise to Sparticus because I had a go at him for egging Ushbuck on, it was not personal aginst you at all Spart, I would have said the same to anyone egging him on.
I used to live with a self confessed troll, and ended up kicking her out because thoses type of people just do not know how to live in a rational, fair, educated society. As Michael Cain said in a movie once, "Some men just want to watch the world burn"

Some very good ideas here from everyone. What always got me (as it did Sir Ridley) was that none of the subsequent entries made even looked at the Space Jockey that was dead in his chair, who was he, why was he there in the first place and why did he have that hole in his chest?. It is still my faveorite part of Alien when they discover that thing, the pulling back of the camera, the music as we see the dead body. I'm very much looking forward to seeing the who, what, why, and I have absolutely no doubt that it will be as unsettling as the very first Alien was. I'm also looking forward to some horrible new creatures :-P
I think I'm going to watch it again tonight :-P

and space jockeys (although space jockey is a machine, not the alien, or its maybe both{ but if enough people agree that the aliens are called space jockeys it has to become the truth})would probably be pissed at humans intervening in their own creation so maybe that is where the battle for mankind starts, they want to wipe the slate clean after a huge mistake

the humanoid alien paradigm will maybe be used to describe our present humanoid state as lacking, i really like the idea of david (an android) becoming the first andro of our kind by being exposed to those jars goo, which turn heem human and are being used to "seed" humanoid life on earth. something like a mistake made by the characters in the action-thriller process of the movie which makes humans being created from something they (we) created to mimic us, an android. its so scary and puts us below the universal humanoid threshold (or maybe above but there is a different pathology involved). i would like it and it would not be so un-ridley scott
