Pure artistry right there! A lone xeno somewhere out there in the galaxy who has always wanted to be a cake topper is beaming with joy right now!

Oooh! Good topic!

1.) My poster would be a giant picture of: Half the Xeno's toothy face lined up with half of David's face. David would wear an impassively bemused expression and have a few subtle blood splatters on his face. The tagline would read "In space no one can hear your prayers."

2) I would release A BUNCH of trailers and I would reveal that Walter had still been alive when he got abandoned on the planet.

I would release at least one prologue in the style of "The Crossing" narrated by Walter. It would chronicle his attempts to get off the planet and save the Covenant.  Shameless self-reference here, but it would basically be my fan-fiction, and it would conclude with something like "If you get this message do not under any circumstances come to this planet."

3) Well, I'm 31, am I outside the target age group? I guess my target demographic would be sci-fi/horror fans of all ages!

4) No. Because even though I know they exist, it is really really difficult for me to conceptualize anyone not enjoying Covenant. (Sorry Dr. Curt Connors, you have my sympathies, I just can't relate.) I would probably get fired. :P

5) I will have previews that show a lot of action, expressive and sympathetic characters, some implied romance and loss, and a wide array of visually engaging settings:

A very beautiful looking tropical planet at sunset (with a weird number of moons or something, maybe?), an eerily bright and sterile laboratory setting (with the camera slowly panning to some gory sight, suddenly disrupting the immaculate feel of the lab),

Ship corridors marred with blood, claw marks and littered with the mutilated bodies of colonists.

A very brief glimpse of colonists getting egg-morphed.

The same tropical world at night depicted as a nightmarish jungle full of danger around every corner, with some brief flashes of the Xeno.

6). Plenty of nods to the original movies including chestbursting scenes (with the baby xeno looking more like how it looked when it came out of Kane), and staying true to the Xenomorph's original life cycle.

7.) Which Android? I'm not sure if David should grow on people, he's a psychopath. He should continue being eerily calm and sadistic. Walter will be afflicted with guilt over his failure to save the Covenant and secretly in love with Daniels.

8.) ...This is all I can think of for now...maybe I'll think of a synopsis later.

I mean, David needs to be (imo), pretty much, the focus of the next film. Wrap this whole Prometheus trilogy up, give David a satisfying conclusion. I am one that is all for another delve into David's psyche. I thought the stringed out, serial killer, android hell bent on destroying the human race, that create his own creatures to inhabit the universe was chilling. It was well-done.

I want to see how his journey ends and he needs to be the main focus of the film I think. Then again, it wouldn't totally surprise me if they somehow made David a supporting character. Seeing as they took Prometheus and brushed it under the carpet and pulled the David-created(recreated, whatever)-the-Xeno twist, anything could happen. Still, I feel as if another direction change would undoubtedly kill the franchise. Not changing directions could kill the franchise (or the Ridley Scott controlled part of it.) I mean, choose something and stick with it. They can't keep jumping ships.

Count me in! I was on vacation this past weekend, so I forgot to film my submission for the original attempt. I am all for the idea surviving though.

dk Yes! I think your answer to #1 is a good selling point. Not sure if you are making 500 million though haha. Oh and one more thing: you have to make at least 150 million in the US because the studios don't want this to be a franchise that is always saved by China.

Well, this is VERY interesting! #8 is a little creepy.

  1. Maybe a close up of an androids eye with a worm protruding from the sclera
  2. Old school- one trailer and minimum visuals and more reliance on audio
  3. I suppose the demographic would have to be teens-50s age group? Whomever will buy tickets
  4. No, if it is a sequel to part of a prequel, it should not try to be something other than that
  5. Arrange for the release to not conflict with other BS super hero movies?
  6. David has already grown on the audience
  7. “Many are saying this will be the greatest movie made by the best people by very good actors. The best actors. Believe me.”

Jonesy Maybe it is for the best. David may have seen Jonesy as just another organism for experimentation.

Apologies are unnecessary. The other thread was not locked due to only one individual but because it strayed way off topic and it was becoming a sheer argument. Calling out other member names can come across as drawing them in for a fight too. Those members should be able to speak for themselves. Unfortunately, staff and moderators cannot monitor all threads at all times and there have been things left unmitigaed/moderated. If members want to argue, there is always the option to PM.

Ati Honestly, you don't seem to care for the future of the franchise. You are part of a tiny minority who wants this franchise to be more a bout the AI and not about the Alien mythos, which is going to kill this brand with the general audience.

Oh that thread was locked because of me, not the other guy as well. I'm not here to argue, I thought this site was to express your opinion and I am definitely not the only one on here who is on the other side of this. He who shall not be named starts name dropping people and calls them out and can't take negative comments about a movie without getting bent out of shape and I responded and it was locked because of me. This is a movie we are talking about, the whole point of sites like this are to have your own opinion and sometimes that means disagreements. It's not like we were calling each other names and dropping f bombs left and right, that was very, very tame for a disagreement which I have seen way worse than that on here and a thread wasn't locked. I will apologize to you but I will not apologize to said person who I have a different opinion than.

Dr. Curt Connors

Do you really think 20th Century Fox really cares what you or anyone else wants?

As a business, FOX should care care what the audience wants- it makes good business sense.

You are entitled to your opinion, but it comes across as if to provoke an argument. This is the second time today this has happened. A thread was locked because of it.

Yeah man totally, haha. Level the playing field, stupid fake news, haha. Do you really think 20th Century Fox really cares what you or anyone else wants? If they make another movie or not the decision is theirs that's it. Nobody is going to change their mind about whether another movie happens but them. If they think it's a good investment there will be another one if they don't it's done.

Keep levelling the playing field. It is working well so keep em coming. We love this franchise

Yeah- I think the David story needs to wrap up. If they want a reboot after that, fine. I also think a familiar character should be there for continuity as a new cast comes into play.

Also, the Isle of the Dead is used in the film, for David's home.  This was so common in Nazi Germany that people always recognized it.  One of Hitler's favorites. Clearly a spin on David's idea that the machines are the superior race.

Love this poem, always have.  Thinking about it and the relevance to the story line, when David speaks it. Something about the fact the machine will not die, and is potentially superior to man in that our achievements will all be meaningless in the long run.

I think having Ripley in the Alien series was a bad idea. Instead of making the alien itself the star it was about her, which really limited the series. Kind of like Underworld but that is a whole other topic. In the prequels David is learning and creating which makes this story line so much better.

KetholAlien: Covenant ForumThere is no way David could escape from Walter

@Seph7 "despite the fact that RS himself has stated that it is David on the Covenant, and the time lapse between the fighting androids, and David running after Lope and Daniels is about 15-20 mins. "

The cuts between the David/Walter fight and Lope and Daniels running from the inside the temple to the outside plaza takes them about 3 minutes on screen - and all that appears to be shown in real time, as opposed to elapsed time.

The time from the last shot of the David/Walter fight to seeing David in Walter's clothes on the plaza, looking at Lope and Daniels, is just under 30 seconds in the movie, not 15-20 minutes. It's an impossibility in real time, but Ridley has admitted he cheated and made something that should have taken 20 minutes take no time at all on screen.

"...I am a very logical person. So I'm thinking, wait a minute, you mean he cut his hand off, changed his clothes, cut his face open before going out there? So I was thinking, if I just do it, it'll fly by...so it's about 20 minutes that I cheated with…" - Ridley Scott.

Me neither.  If it is indeed the Engineer home world (i hope not) then it makes sense it was manned by at least 1.

IF it is just another seeded world or a sacred world whose beings worship The Elders or whoever, then i would say as they only visit once every 500,1000 years (ball park) then it is a long time to sit in a docking ship waiting. So i would say it is not manned in this instance.

Then we have the "dust up" situation which leans towards a piloted vessel having some altercation with the Jugganaut. Was this a manned defence or was it a containment protocol ?

Also regarding LV 223 and the lack of protection when entering the planet...

Maybe The Elders or a force higher, set some sort of protection of the pyramids. What if the storm that interrupted the expedition the first time, was sent by a being who can control climate. There has been a rumour surrounding this and i thought we might of been introduced in A:C but it never happened.

The Storm seems to be coming from directly behind the Pyramids which are located in a single line, one directly behind the next. It seems to be moving from directly behind the Pyramids not at an angle as a normal storm which could blow from any direction.

Also when the humans get into the room with the ampules they begin to leak. Maybe something was set up to go off if a being entered. Maybe the slight disturbance when the team take their helmets off to breathe.

hox -

I read the novel but like i say dont know much about religions.

But that sounds great to me. I never thought about it like that. So David bringing down the "giant" Engineers could lean towards that. Anything else ? What is that star all about ?
