Thanks for the Video ;)
We have debated this quite a bit over the years... the Invisible Dome theory is always something interesting to Ponder.
Seems its NOT up to the Task of Preventing the Bombardment and you would have thought IF it had been Specifically Designed for this Purpose then it would have surely had PERFORMED its TASK better!
So the ONLY real Logical Conclusion if we are going to say... YES that was some kind of Force Field... is that it was Activated as a Border Control to Prevent any Ships from Docking/Landing on the Surface...
The Scorpion Ship would Intercept and Dock and Perform some kind of Border Control Checks.... and then after the Ship Passes these, then its likely the FORCE FIELD would be Turned Off and thus allowing the Ship to Dock/Land in the Hanger.

Well i think thats just Millburns interpretation, and it did appear as some Space Cobra... in the Movie it appeared to more like a Eel than any Reptile...
It moved like a Serpent, but its Skin Texture was more similar to that of say a Eel or Squid Tentacle (not sucker part). Some of the Props/Production had matched the Concept Work, where it clearly had a Segmented Body like a Worm, so it appeared as a Worm/Eel Hybrid... Apart from the Head.
But in the Movie we dont make out any Segmented Sections.
I dont think we can really say what it is as its a ALIEN Organism, it had been Evolved/Mutated from Worms but its to the point that little % of Worm DNA remains compared to what the Pathogen had Imprinted.
The Trilobite also had a similar Aesthetic as far as its Tentacles in regards to the Hammerpedes Body.
But i dont think it really matters what we try and compare it to as what we are seeing really is a ALIEN DNA.

Certainly i think the Xenomorph could be Telepathic but only in Regards to its own Species, i think having them being able to Read a Humans every move and thought would be a STEP thats TOO FAR!
However i agree as far as Empathic goes... were the Xenomorph can SENSE a Targets Emotional State, so it can determine if someone is feeling Angry, Afraid or about to Run etc... then YES i think thats probable.
Something ELSE to consider is what in a way Chlis Post had touched on a bit Kanes Son
In regards to Genetic Memory.... maybe the Xenomorph could Inherit certain Memories off Kane and so it would know about the Lay-Out of the Nostromo, and that it had a Escape Shuttle and so it could detect the Self Destruct was Activated and knew it had to make its way to the Escape Shuttle instead of just happening to END UP there by Pure Luck/Instinct.

"too powerful."
Indeed.
But...What is the creatures ultimate goal? (survival obviously....but to what end? )
Do they 'sense' humans are a threat? (( I can imagine David introducing some pheromone identifiers and aggressive traits. ("smells like a human...KILL!") )
GavinAlien: Covenant ForumIs MUTHUR the true conspirator of the Alien movies?Nov 21, 2019Reply
I think that having the Alien being telepathic is a step too far towards making it too powerful.
Having the Alien being Empathic might work, especially if can sense with greater accuracy the higher someones emotional state, essentially like it can smell ones fear with a stronger smell the more frightened someone is. Thus, Lambert would have been easy for the Alien to find.

Right, so Millburn described it as an 'elongated reptile-like creature' for a bit of fun, I suppose. How is that materially different to my description of a "hostile reptilian form"?

Brainstorming at a fever pitch...
"This would be controversial but I propose for him to be also crucified on the cross first to offend even more people."
"The Engineer ships have triple 'vaginal' openings on the front. Why? Wouldn't it be nice to see some kind of ship that had a set of equivalent 'male' parts. It 'mates' with the Derelict for some mysterious purpose."
I love it...either recommendation might send Comicon factions into a civil war. Bring on a lot of weird Engineer technology. Crucify David if you want...it worked for Spartacus' legacy.
David resurrecting an ancient custom/weapon (the mutagen/xenomorph) isn't unreconcilable to what was seen in Alien in my opinion.
LV-426 seems to be pivotal to the story direction and a return to that planet would be great. And eventually David needs to be destroyed (his body).

Details from the archeological sites visited by Dr. Shaw were documented in Project Genesis. The sites in Project Genesis were largely abandoned to antiquity only to be rediscovered and appreciated in modern times.

"So they would have no reason to open fire on a ship of their own making, which seemed to arrive and dock properly, for all they knew, it was their own gods/people coming home after a long mission."
That's how I interpreted the arrival AdamPD. The population below seemed excited to see the return of a juggernaut.

It should have been split up into two movies, one for the island half, the other for the Lockwood Manor. It would have been less tone deaf and a lot of scenes could have become much more awesome or chilling. There could have even been a Dilo-scene and Camo-Carnotaurus scene if they split it up!

That’s the only explanation I could have on behalf of the Dimorphodons. But, that also begs the question on why any of the pterosaurs would still reside on an island that’s volcanically active and give mercenaries the chance to capture them and bring them to the mainland. The whole movie and it’s logistics have me in a state of perplexity.

I never noticed that there were no Dimorphodons in FK, but then again, I had already given up perhaps a quarter of the way into the movie because I caught early on about how FK was going to pan out.
Needless to say, I haven’t watched it again to try and catch what I may have missed the first round, after all, it’s the first movie I ever considered walking out on. I came close when I saw Burt Wonderstone, but even closer with FK, didn’t see it possible. I especially didn’t see it possible with my favorite franchise.
All I have to say is who in the HELL made the executive decision to put a poorly known filmmaker and his accomplice, whose only credible production was a B rate film called “Safety Not Guaranteed”, in charge of a critically acclaimed franchise? It pisses me off to no end, seriously. There’s a damn good reason why they took Colin out of the director’s chair for a new Star Wars movie.
One final thing to note: Derek Connelly was the one who wrote the screenplay for the blockbuster, Oscar-worthy film “Monster Trucks”. Let that sink in...
TheLazyFishAlien ForumAn Overdue Check InNov 20, 2019Reply
Well, the Dimorphodons might have flown off the Island like the Pteranodon in Jurassic Park. They might have snuck onto the ship like rats. They might have just been hiding in the forests most of the film? Who knows really. Dimorphodons do have a chance to have survived, and it wouldn't really take more explaining than they snuck onto the ship.

"There is NO Reason why the Ship Internally cant Change Shape/Size and Levels... maybe its NOT beyond the Technology as the Cargo Hold Hole in Alien Covenant does appear from a Area where there is NO such HOLE.... so their Technology maybe allows for the Material to Morph/Change Shape."
The Engineer technology seems to do this BigDave.

The opening that the urns passes through seems to be the product of multiple layers peeling back, mechanically, folding into perfect recesses.

The same thing can be said regarding the opening on Planet 4 below. It is the Engineers' motif.

Ok, so maybe not the Dilophosaurus, but the one that really grinds my gears and tests my patience is the Dimorphodons, seeing as none of them even appeared once in JWFK, so that means they should be extinct. And yet, they were listed as endangered, so now I question where they went if they were endangered. And don't even get me started on the way the Baryonyx looked in the film compared to the website. I liked the original website version better, and I don't know why they had to ruin that except for a Spinosaurus reference scene. It is all just so dumb, and I have now lost hope in the franchise. It's so sad, really.

em·path
noun: empath; plural noun: empaths
(chiefly in science fiction) a person with the paranormal ability to apprehend the mental or emotional state of another individual. (source)
Each novel seems to have a theme and Alien: Sea of Sorrows' kept hitting on empath abilities. Decker was shown early (Ch. 2, page 17) to have these abilities and later his empath tools were vital to navigating near the Xenomorphs.
The Xenomorphs sensed he was near...so whether it be empath or telepathic ability...maybe the Xenomorph intuition is like it's other traits (magnified) and can predict human behavior from this ability. This may explain the Xenomorph knowing Ripley's every move before she made it.
BigDaveAlien: Covenant ForumIs MUTHUR the true conspirator of the Alien movies?Nov 20, 2019Reply
Certainly could be that Ripley had left the Door Open when she had LEFT the Shuttle, the Door was Clearly Open before she had Returned.
Another Interesting part is that when Ripley was trying to get Information about the Organism, MUTHUR was non-compliant, stating that Information was for the Science Officer Only, which she then ENTERED a Override Code to access the Special Order 937
You could Argue that IF it was that MUTHUR was a Rogue A.I then she could have declined the CODE... but then we also have to accept that she was aware of Special Order 937 and so would the Company Computer not take that as a Priority? We know ASH did... and so if all the Crew was Expendable then we have to ASK.... how come MUTHUR did-not Disable all Access?
After Ripley discovers Special Order 937 and Ash discovers her with MUTHUR, he then goes after her and we see the Doors are Remote Shut/Locked to Stop Ripley from Escape.
When we then look at Shots of ASH he is not even near any Controls and so we can Ponder if MUTHUR had shut them off, or indeed as Ash is a A.I then he maybe could have Remote Access to the Doors.
Regarding Hadleys Hope and Aliens... then 57 Years is a Long Time... and so IF it is that a A.I is in control and are aware of the Xenomorph on LV-426 we could Wonder as to WHY they never went back..... i am talking in Terms of Movies... not Novels however..
However if a A.I is in Control with a Agenda then it could Patiently Wait, and Delete/Cover Up all Information on the Derelict/Xenomorph...
The Company and Burke seemed to have NO knowledge of the Xenomorph, it appears that it was only when Burke had informed Hadleys Hope to go and check on some Co-Ordinances that things went to POT on Hadleys Hope.
You would think that IF we had a A.I in charge would they have NOT sent out some of Hadleys Hope Colonist to the Derelict much earlier?
So i dont think we can Guarantee the A.I has become Sentient with its own Agenda for the Xenomorph, but we also cant RULE it out as a Possibility.
I think the Prequels with David, do add some Weight to the Potential for Rogue A.I to be playing a BIG ROLE.

Well, we don't know that the Nasutoceratops was saved off screen, especially when we saw the entire Dino room at the end of JWFK, and we see ALL the Dinosaurs run out from there, there was no Nasutoceratops or Dilophosaurus. Most likely, Nasutoceratops was engineered by a new country and given growth hormones, enough to the point where there's fully grown ones in a year and a half. It'd make sense as to why we didn't see the Nasuto. The same could apply to the Dilo, but still, my main point was that there is almost no possible way they can appease the fan base on the subject of Dilophosaurus, and it'll only get worse if they actually do make more movies after JW3 if they don't include it in this movie.

It wasn't listed as extinct BEFORE JWFK, but I said that because of the Isla Nublar extinction, and almost all the creatures on Isla Sorna being taken to Isla Nublar and those that were less attractive were left to die, Dilophosaurus is extinct because none were saved. We don't know for sure if any of the embryos saved were Dilophosaurus embryos. Even if they were, Wu's main laboratory was blown up, so they're probably lost. Even if they AREN'T a pile of ash, if they're all dead, then they're extinct. I mean, if a creature goes extinct and it can be revived, it's still extinct for at least a short period of time.

My favorite Dinosaur is Spinosaurus, but my favorite prehistoric creature is Megalodon, as you can tell by my profile pic... if it doesn't just look like a regular shark lol. I really wish that the Dilophosaurus (even just like the tiny one in JP if they didn't feel like making it bigger) was in one of the previous movies, and it WOULD be cool to see it in JW3, BUT it would also really, REALLY suck for them to do that. At this point its like if they don't put it in, "where is it?" and everyone will be mad it was only in the first movie. If they DO put it in, it won't live up to the hype that's been built up after so long of not seeing it, like if there ever was a Half-Life 3 made, it would never be good enough. Also, with the plot of JWFK, it wouldn't make sense for there to be a Dilophosaurus anyways since they died on Isla Nublar (by the way, why wouldn't they try to capture a Dilophosaurus? It would be a really good addition to the whole militarized Dinosaur shtick by being a ranged attacker/sniper, it'd make a good pet or trophy, especially if they increased its size. It would have been a great addition to their auction! That would have been the perfect way to reintroduce the Dilophosaurus into Fallen Kingdom (if they added a horror scene with it) and keep it in the franchise). One could argue that they may have been engineered by other people, but then there's almost no way for it to logically be like the one in Jurassic Park, because they wouldn't splice the genome the EXACT same way they did in 1993. Even if it IS, well, why is it there NOW?!!!!! No matter what they do regarding the Dilophosaurus, they've basically messed it up.

... and thus it feasible to speculate that once the Alien sneaked onboard MUTHUR allowed for the Nostromo to self destruct to cover up any evidence and likely thinking Ripley would lose one-on-one with the Alien.
And when Ripley jettisoned the Alien into space, if we postulate that MUTHUR and the network are one and the same, MUTHUR could have masked the Narcissus' transponder leaving Ripley to drift forever, if not for the salvage team that found in 2179.
