EGR101Prometheus ForumFirst Image of Guy Pearce as WeylandFeb 28, 2012
The various rumors & info that says Guy Pearce has a minor role turns out to be false. From this viral footage alone, it seems that he is the main driver for the story.

Maybe he is the old guy in the wheelchair
ReplyNot_my_intentionPrometheus ForumEvolution of logo through the years.Feb 28, 2012
i like how the new logo (as in the red one at the top for Prometheus) is a combination of the two, even though that doesn't make any sense
ReplyEGR101Prometheus ForumFirst Image of Guy Pearce as WeylandFeb 28, 2012
Weyand says "we are the Gods now.." in the scene. It's interesting to say the least: a guy speculated that the old dude in the teaser is "a God."
ReplyGavinPrometheus ForumFirst Image of Guy Pearce as WeylandFeb 28, 2012
but didn't we see a pic of guy pearce wearing specs and a spacesuit stood next to ridley?

yes this is what i think too but nice ;)
ReplyFrantzPrometheus ForumFirst Image of Guy Pearce as WeylandFeb 28, 2012
two things ..
1) the speech si 50 years before the events of prometheus if im not wrong ...so he will be VERY OLD in the movie
2) So the rumor that Guy Pearce was in heavy prosthetics was true

I hope Ridely doesn't try to make some grand political statement with this film... cause that REALLY killed Avatar for me.

They sure got the right actor for the job. Guy Pierce is a talented actor, don't get me wrong - I've never met him but he seems to be the type of person who could be an arrogant little prick. Is it me or does he sound a lot like John Hurt?

I was thinking more along the lines of... well - that the image brings to mind something at the completely OPPOSITE end of the digestive tract.

I guess I am just trying to understand a possible outcome for Prometheus based on the history of the franchise. I'm with you guys on the fact that Ridley wants to go somewhere else with the prequel, he seemed to make that clear in interviews.
I missed that Dallas and Brent were being turned into eggs in the directors cut. I had to go and review the scene to see it for myself. I see that they are cocooned up against a wall and noticed some fleshy things that looked like "egg flaps"(for lack of a better description) sort of encapsulating brents head, but are they being turned into eggs? Is it our opinion that they are being turned into eggs, or is it a fact?
I am curious and would like to know more!

@RickK,
That's freaky. It could be some sort of breathing tube. Imagine falling or being sucked into it, and the last thing anyone hears is your scream trailing off.

I love the momentum and pathos of this clip - looks like we´ll finally get a sci-fi movie with an actual story.

Haha, Visualizer has it correct, I didnt find this (and never claimed I did!)
You all should check the prometheus on FB, that's exactly where this came from.
@Theusprom:
Yea, it's not part of the movie. But it most certainly ties in with the story, and is "Canon"

Here's a little bio about Peter Weyland from the TED Blog:
"Sir Peter Weyland was born in Mumbai, India at the turn of the Millennium. The progeny of two brilliant parents; His mother, an Oxford Educated Professor of Comparative Mythology, his father, a self-taught software Engineer, it was clear from an early age that Sir Peter’s capabilities would only be eclipsed by his ambition to realize them. By the age of fourteen, he had already registered a dozen patents in a wide range of fields from biotech to robotics, but it would be his dynamic break-throughs in generating synthetic atmosphere above the polar ice cap that gained him worldwide recognition and spawned an empire.
In less than a decade, Weyland Corporation became a worldwide leader in emerging technologies and launched the first privatized industrial mission to leave the planet Earth. “There are other worlds than this one,” Sir Peter boldly declared, “And if there is no air to breathe, we will simply have to make it.”

At least there's a viral web site to go with the viral video. Clever using TED Talks for context of this video.

@RickK I think you described it perfectly. Apart from that, I wouldn't want to be near that hole; I'd imagine the floor has a tendency to be slippery, and apart from the assumption of it being organic, it's sure to be a long way down. My testicles shrink from looking down from huge heights as it is, and if it's pitch black, ergh.
ReplyGreatBoosUpPrometheus ForumFirst piece of story!Feb 28, 2012
The Imdb.com page for Prometheus is still listing Guy Pearce's character as Stanninson.
