Aggrieved honest-trailer fan, take heart. None of this is serious.
Movies, movie insults and movie insult insults are all luxuries people indulge in for entertainment. Both sides are nitpicking and being funny.
they were sort of right about the xenomorphs in daylight but the rest, I totally dissagree with. i liked alien covenant alot and i think that if they don't like the philisophical aspects dealing with a.i, They can go watch something like predator or friday the 13th.
if ridley decides to use this concept, it should just be for small ingurys like cuts. mabye to go as far to say that is a hand is cut of, it will eventually grow back.
That trailer couldn't have been more right on....deliciously bad film.
I don't know why fans gt so butthurt by honest trailers. They're supposed to nitpick and be funny. No one is taking this as a serious review of covenant overall.
I haven't decided! I want to just make sure I get Blu-ray+DVD and all of the extra features. It will probably end up being a Target purchase, Although the Best Buy steelbook is sick asf and a shirt would be nice... aw jeeze
Just the BR with digital copy. There is a DVD included that will not be used.
Ati I must agree with you this time. The Hollywood Reporter must have too much time to waste in order to cover an "Honest trailer". And one that is not particularly funny.
Thanks Ati .
Get roasted, Covenant bashers. :P
And Jesus, the THR article title is the title of the summer! :D
'Alien: Covenant' Honest Trailer Can't Get Over Michael Fassbender's Flute'
:DDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
Oh, my God! I'm sure they are not the only one who are not able to get over Fassbender's flute! :DDDDDDD

VivisectedEngineer: 'And it's a real pity he wasn't part of the Covenant away team.'
:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
Jesus, that is the biggest comment of the summer! :D
IRaptus - Not bad! You hit the target. She is awesome in the Riddick uni. Where is the new Riddick movie? I want it now!
My sequel includes Olga and Theo, should I call them Jamesylenko? :)

I cannot believe they even have an article about the honest trailer.
Again, the fandoms for AC is understood but in the same token, fans of the series such as myself, despise this entry because the script was subpar and the execution even more subpar. Also, in domestic and foreign box office receipts (added with marketing costs), the movie did not turn a profit, but since it is near breakeven; it will start bringing in revenue in a year or two.
Wow, this guy who makes these "honest trailers" must be real fun to hang out with. I'm sure everyone's deeply envious of his ability to be unimpressed by things.
And it's a real pity he wasn't part of the Covenant away team. I'm sure even without the benefit of hindsight (or any exposure to A L I E N universe lore) he would have made all the best decisions in never before encountered situations.
lmaof!!! I just saw the honest trailer and it was hilarious but sadly TRUE.

We also have this piece of art. Seems they had several of the designers take a turn designing Shaw. I don't remember if it was Matt Hatton or Dane Hallett that did this one.

Are these possibly the same parasitic worm version of the pathogen we saw pop out of Holloway's eye in Prometheus?
joylitt yeah I have to agree, the cgi is sadly so heavy-handed it takes the fear out of this movie :C
No idea. He has to have found some way of neutralizing the acid blood in order to work with his specimens, so perhaps this is some concoction that does that.
It is not even a sex scene. Where is the sex? And the cgi doesn't work. Not scary and not gruesome, just fake. That scene is indefensible.
How about this Ati, duel male/female leads for the next direction. They can be called Hiddlehoff XD

I would like to see RS get his chance to wrap up his prequels, they cant leave it hanging like that between covenant and Alien. Though Fox really need to loosen the reins and let RS fulfil his vision and tell his story.
That being said, I think once its done they should move quickly on with a new direction, something grand and massive in scope for the franchise. And I don't think Blomkamp's previous vision is it, though Id be happy if he did get a shot at an Alien film.
As I much as I love all three actors they are about 10 years too late (at least) for Blomkamps idea, and digital de-aging seems like a wasted idea. Admittedly Weaver has aged very finely, but they really need to move on from those characters.

Gavin You forgot in Aliens before and after entering hypersleep, Ripley was in her skivvies. Then in Resurrection when she was breaking free of her cocoon and when Elgyn and Hillard were getting intimate.
Lawrence of Arabia - And their key phrase is: 'stupid characters'... They always start with that. The strongest point of the phantom list of complaints.
I Moon Girl In the novel, it explains that they embrace each other for some levity and to be grateful for being the last couple on the crew alive.
The sex scene was supposed to show how intrinsic sex (life) and the alien (death) are. The franchise is built on on sex and the appeal of it, the Alien with it's phallic head and the derelict ship and it's vaginal opening.
When I saw the shower scene in the A:C trailer, I was so upset. All these thoughts in my head about how awesome this new Alien movie is going to be was replaced some with anger, confusion, and fear.
The fear comes from the fact that this new Alien movie might actually suck. I swear! If I saw any typically censored parts (I'm pointing to the ladies on this), I would have to say that the movie would be considered suck-worthy to me. That is unless the movie can make up for that one shower scene, which could be possible.
The confusion comes from me asking, "Why would Ridley do this?" There are some skimply dressed scenes in other Alien movies, but this is starting to take it to far.
The anger comes from me not wanting this crap to be in an Alien movie.
In the end, I held all opinions until after I watched the movie and I would have to say it was almost ruined for me by that shower scene. I did see a second of Upworth's breast, but I think I can let it slide since it was so quick (yet, unnecessary). The movie wouldn’t have been good enough to make up for any more unnecessary, should be censored scenes. I hope that is as far as any Alien movie in the franchise goes or I may not rewatch them. I’ll go to the theaters to see the movie, but I wouldn’t rewatch that crap because I don’t want to see that cheap garbage. I guess I would watch it again if the movie was just so awesome. I would just have to suck it up while the scene plays.
Plus, I don’t know why they would be doing what they were doing in the shower after they lost so many people that they seemed to care about. I guess they’re thankful that each other is still alive? Still, it’s time for grieving, not fondling each other. I guess it’s a good excuse for the story writers to figure out a way for the two characters to not know something is wrong on the ship. I would think they should be sleeping after stressing out over all that happened. I’d be doing that are talking to my fellow shipmates about what happened and just enjoying their presence since they are so lucky that they are not dead.
She looks so terrible in this head-something:

But that's the thing though, Covenant isn't bad. It's misunderstood. The complaints in this "Honest" trailer are baffling and very slanted. "The go off course for a John Denver song!" It was an S.O.S.. "They violated quarintine protocols" Faris went in there to try and save Karine, the same way Dallas and Lambert were trying to break it for Kane. "Why does Oram listen to the evil robot!" Oram demanded answers and David gave them to him. Aside from the questionable Neomorph behavior, Oram had no real reason to see how evil David was. The list goes on but it's tiring repeating yourself into a void insistent it's a bad film. People just wanted a more happy Prometheus 2 with Shaw but instead we got a dark one with David.
Thank you Capt Torgo, now I have another reason to rewatch Prometheus.
I know, a lot of it is a stretch but we muddy that by overwhelming ourselves with images and theories related to the more clear details in the story.
Amazing set of images Kethol. Thank you for every one and especially the enhanced images. The soup is great...what is he doing with that?
Nice collection of relevant concept art Timmy the ultramorph.

I'm partial to the above image. The structures look like Weyland-Yutani Corporation atmospheric processors.

I certainly can't stand Covenant but I'm happy people here are enjoying it. What inspires me though is how social media can now force Hollywood to make better movies, imo. Sure, things like this and others can stir the pot for a flame war. Most would agree a good film can't be held by critics or naysayers. Alien was panned but the crowds were around the block opening night for days. When a box office soars or slumps after the opening week it should speak to us about quality of the product.
Great collection of concept art again Ati.
I agree with Timmy the ultramorph on the first image looking like the Star Wars aesthetic but the larger ship in the same image may fit with the braided surface. It could fit well if it was grey and dusty similar to the Engineer ships we've seen.

The above image would fit with some of the Weyland tech we've seen on planets like Mars, below.

When the deacon busted the engineer cavity these cool blue beads came spraying out. Looked cool and so do his experiments. How the goo reanimates dead tissue is kind of a stretch.
I wanted the Target edition for the book but ended up getting the Wal-Mart edition for the shirt lol
After the word host (n) the word plant is not a verb, but a noun meaning the flower...?? That's why I wrote about the flower... I don't know, it's possible that I'm wrong.
The full sentences can't be seen.
'No much need for an "honest trailer" when a movie...'
So you can relax now. :D :D :D
