What if the arrival of Covenant was not by chance? At the end of the movie David uses two security codes on Covenant: his own (David) when asking Mother for entry of the gods into valhalla and Walter's when reporting the mission log. Why did he use his own code if not to inform Weyland-Yutani that he took charge of the two thousands good souls? It could not be yet another 'malfunction', sort of Byron/Shelley confusion.

Another question is: when David told Oram the eggs are waiting for Mother, was he insinuating that the Covenant's computer had the secret assignment to deviate the ship to Paradise and he was actually waiting for their arrival? David did not look at all surprised to see them. Daniels as well insisted a lot in her argument with Oram that it could have been impossible to miss Paradise in their research for a new planet. What if some data was deliberately omitted / obscured by those who had  a hidden agenda with Covenant and her cargo. And there is also the prequel novel to Covenant stating about a conspiracy and attempts to stop the launching of Covenant. Can be all these put together or are just coincidences?

Indeed Kethol and Lawrence of Arabia while the Novel Explains the reason the Juggernauts are disabled, if they had done the same in the Movie... it would get us asking Questions like.... "Surely 10 years alone David could have figured out to Re-activate those ships?"

Regarding the Sizes Kethol  i also agree, i dont think RS has made such a Oversight with the Engineer in AC, i mean while the Live Engineer Flash back could be a oversight... surely they would have been able to show the Bodies as Engineer Sized, so 7ft plus or even Greater (if RS has the only 7.5ft Engineers as a oversight root).

A lot of people was puzzled at the not so Space Jockey Engineers in Prometheus and RS could have easily had the Flash Back Bombardment Scene how it was and then have the Dead Bodies as 10ft tall Props..

And so i think we can assume there is a very good reason why RS had created a varied kind of Engineers, which i covered in another Topic not long ago.

Its hard to tell in some shots, but in others and some of the Set Production we clearly do see Female Dead Engineers and also some beings not being very tall, not by Prometheus standards, but yet some are in the same location much larger than Humans well 7ft plus.

This being a Perfect Example.

Where despite being further in the background the TWO on the Left are Larger than the TWO on the right.

And so indeed there has to be a Reason, i dont think they are going the Uniform Giant idea and shape anymore.. well not for the beings on Paradise.

So while Humans can range from 2ft to 8ft a more Typical Average seems to be from 4ft to 7ft a good 175% Difference and so if we consider this then we could be shown these beings are Taller than Humans, but also vary and so indeed maybe they are between 5.5ft and 9.5ft tall. Where the Average between that would match our LV-223 Engineers.

Again its pretty open with how they showed the LV-223 Engineers and Sacrificial one and what we see in AC, its a clever move maybe because they can explain these differences in a number of ways and reasons.

A lot could do with how they choose to have Paradise as being shown...

Because is this place the Biblical Paradise as in Garden of Eden and where Creation had Started?  And so these beings could be our Ancestors, or a Next Clean slate attempt after our Ancestors were Banished.

Or is it more like the Paradise as far as other cultures, and so a place only the Righteous are allowed to Dwell, and where various Worlds they seed life on, they eventually allow some of these Humanoids back on Paradise..

But Mankind on Earth does not join them because we proved to not be worthy.

So indeed many ways they can explore all of this.

Certainly, they did produce a number of Concepts that was very similar to HR Gigers Li works.... the final Dr Shaw we saw in the movie is very toned down but still a homage to Hr Gigers Li.

Yet i was informed of a different concept over 2.5 years ago, that since the last few months when Concepts have came out do seem to fit the description i was given back then, compared to the final Dr Shaw Fate we had.

I do agree that the ending was mishandled. Now, I think it sis chilling as absolute hell! It freaks me out to see that smile and see Daniels trapped, screaming, and falling asleep with that on her mind. It is a GREAT ending, but one that makes the next film tough to start. Without making David look a bit weak, giving Daniels the Shaw treatment, or maybe not making a lot of sense... That's a tall order!

As far as the Atheistic.... its a interesting one, a number of things had changed during the design and concept for the Original Alien Prequel that became Prometheus... Earlier ideas and concepts the Ships and interior and even Space Suits (Space Jockey) did look more in line with the Alien Version.

They changed this a little to make for a more Mechanical Looking Ships and Architecture, while on the other hand giving us a bit of a different look for the Sacrificial Engineers and indeed hints that the Engineers played a key role in Mankinds Evolution and knowledge/Technology so hints as if we learned to build Temples and the like from these Engineers.

Which indeed for a lot of the Atheistic on Paradise/Planet 4 is very connected to a number of Ancient Civilizations on Earth, so this was never done by pure accident.

There are elements of Paradise/Planet 4 that have that Prometheus Aesthetic, they are however limited and mainly comes from the Docking Ship.

Does it mean different Cultures? or Races? Who knows, i think its pretty open for debate and direction they finally choose to show.

Few Key Points to AC is RS and others working on the Project had hinted/claimed. (so here are a few points).

*Beings on Paradise/Planet 4 are Engineers... however RS said the Engineers are not a Race but a Civilization and added further that Mankind has many different versions/looks and so why cant the Engineers, they are Genetically connected after all.

*RS referred to the Engineers as predating Mankind and being the Forerunners in one comment after AC was announced (well Alien: Paradise Lost), where he asked if these guys are our forerunners then who designed/allowed for Worlds to be habitable in order to allow for Seeding... so where is the Big Guy... this hints the Engineers are not the guys at the Top of the Hierarchy

*In regards to the Big Head Room, RS had said these are the 10 apostles, wise men and Superior beings.. (superior to Humans? or other beings on that World?) someone else connected to Production referred the Hall of Heads as the Hierarchy

*RS had more recently or was it someone working on Production?  I cant 100% recall but only that they had said the beings on Paradise/Planet 4 are/was the Original Engineers... quite what this means who knows..

Prometheus had given us other clues... the Last Engineer claimed he was from Paradise well what mankind would refer to as Paradise.  Which is then the destination of Dr Shaw and David

In regards to Prometheus RS did say the Elders Scene was deleted because THEY did not want to meet GOD in the First Movie... This means the Engineers are not GODs.... RS then also said about how Shaw and David will meet these beings on Paradise who are not GOD's not in the tradition sense.

This does not mean to say the Engineers and those above them are not the same Race... a Hierarchy could imply something else.

In Egypt the Egyptian Pharaohs are considered Gods among Men, yet they was only Human. They where given a Special Hierarchy above Humans and treated as Gods. They are considered somewhat divine and carrying out the GODS Will.

These beings well Selected Elite of Mankind were awarded a lot of control and had Monuments and Buildings of Special Quality built for them... some Ancient Astronaut theories claim these Pharaohs are the Chosen Mortals of GOD, and so indeed much like how Jesus is considered in Christianity.

And so maybe a Selected Bunch of Engineers are allotted the same kind of Treatment which would explain the Hall of Heads.

The Technological differences are important, indeed Paradise does have the Hanger that is used by Juggernauts, and we have the Docking Ship that are all very much Advanced Technology.

Yet most of those beings live in more Ancient Technology Buildings and Culture, we have to ask WHY?

Maybe as with the Egyptian Pharaohs only a selected few are allowed such privileges, in Ancient Egypt the Egyptian Pharaohs lived in Great Buildings, had very sophisticated and expensive clothing.  Only a Handful of Places was deemed more Advanced and Special in Egypt and their are many theories the Great Pyramids not only stood for a more Divine Purpose but was also some Ancient Technology, it is this similarity that Spaights Alien Engineers ideas was taking from.  Even as far as pondering the Engineers Seeding Ships as Pyramids.

Wayne Haagg had suggested and its only his interpretation, that the Engineers had Stolen or Found their Technology, by this he maybe means the Ships but also he could be on about the Sacrificial/Black Goo.

But again Stolen/Found... Borrowed from who?   it all comes to the Hierarchy and how they intend to show us....

It would appear the Engineers serve a greater purpose and Hierarchy but quite how many levels of Hierarchy there are is yet to be shown, and indeed if this Hierarchy directly above the Engineers are a different Race who create Engineers in their likeness.  Or if the Hierarchy are  just as the Egyptian Pharaohs and thus chosen of the GOD's maybe even having closer Genetic Ties to the GODs.... or maybe also just being the Same as the Engineers only they are a chosen Caste/Few who are allowed the knowledge and use of the True Hierarchy beings Technology.

Certainly would be interesting to eventually find out all this.

BigDave I am thinking Blue ray. I think it comes with a digital copy and there should be more extras that will not fit on the dvd.

It's tough... I really kind of feel like it is a waste (for me perosnally) to buy the digital copy tomorrow and then the package with blu-ray, DVD, and another digital copy on the 15th... I want to see Covenant again SO bad though!!! I think I'll hold off though. I'm ordering John Wick 1 and 2 on Blu-ray tomorrow, so that will take up almost a week between waiting, watching, and special features. Haha there it is

BigDave I don't think the Giger State objected anything. 20 Century Fox obviously has a legal department that supervises everything the artists are producing. Because of what the artists are saying in the interview, I infer they would block the use of props based on designs like the following, so they don't have to buy the rights.

I think again though, RS has said the next movie would not directly link to Alien, and so Alien Covenant was the start of the Process to link to Alien, it would introduce the Xenomorph but as RS had hinted at, we would not get the Full Connection in this movie.

So RS/FOX have been a bit clever in how they handled this Xenomorph, because the Design they have made does now ALLOW for either of these Outcomes should they choose to change things.

1) David Created the Xenomorph and his design has to go through some additional Evolution to reach the 1979 Alien.

2) David Re-created/Evolved the Engineers Design of the 1979 Xenomorph.

So the way they handled it, means its open to explore either of the above... If they had given us a more 1979 Xenomorph and still hinted that David created it... they would backed themselves more into a corner that DAVID indeed does CREATE IT

But with the design they have, they are left open to stick to this and showcase a Evolution to the AC Xenomorphs, or even do a U-Turn again and distance Davids involvement in the Derelict Cargo.

So its quite a wise move on their behalf.

Thanks for clearing a few things up Kethol... indeed i think people can get a bit confused with the Giger connections, it appears they (creature design team) was asked to reference HR Gigers Xenomorph and related Concepts for ALIEN as well as referring back to pieces like Necronom 4 

And so people can forget that while the Xenomorph designs evolved and changed over the movies, even those in AVP Movies and Alien Insurrection you can still see they are based off the Original Designs... but are a little less Bio-Mechanical

Giger was a fan of the more feminine elements of his designs the more sleek, slender Atheistic which he had opted for his design for Alien 3 which was never used by FOX.  We can see with Alien Covenant the Design seems to indeed contain these more slender looks to it.   Apart from the Mouth and a little tone down of the none Organic Looking Pipes, there is a lot in HR Gigers Alien 3 design, that we can see has passed over to the Alien Covenant one.

I did hear 2.5 years ago there was TWO Xeno related Monsters this was before anything was known about the Sequel to Prometheus and one of these was to be based off Necronom 4 and Ultramorph unused concepts.

So its interesting to see that the Giger Estate had objected, however i find the Prometheus Concepts for Ultramorph as below

As being very similar to Necronom 4 and cant think why they could not have used similar, and not get into a dispute with the Giger Estate?

They did use Gigers Necronom 4 on the Production Clapper Boards.

I think the fact that the ships and the architecture of the Engineer buildings looks completely different clearly implies those are either different civilizations, or completely different factions of the Engineers race.

I did not see much about the temple in Prometheus that looked very Gigeresque to me, with the exception of the mural. The walls were not very biomechanical. They had a more mechanical look that was similar to Giger's "New York City" period. The interior of the juggernaut in Prometheus was not very biomechanical either, for that matter.

I think the Ending to Covenant was not very well done...

I mean we did not need this for the Audience to then be shown it was David...

All they needed to do was to not give it away that Daniels knows, and ONE Alternative Ending she did not.

Then have David say Sleep Tight dont let the bed Bugs Bite. (as he did) and then when it comes down to the Embryo Scene have him Hold the First one and look at it and say "Big Things have Small Beginnings"

This ^^^^ is how i would have ended it, and ok only Prometheus Fans would get that Quote... but by the Embryo Scene i would assume most viewers would be like... "oh WOW so it was David then?"

This would leave the next movie able to see Walter (David) and Daniels build up a Relationship where Daniels is totally Fooled.... it would seem like a Happy Ending, well a Happy New start.

Then have David start to show deep feelings and Love for Daniels... and reveal at this very Moment the Penny Drops for Daniels.... then reveal a Evil Reaction by David... where Daniels then goes..something like "No David, how.. oh my GOD"

This would allow David to then corner her, and then say..."i told you If we are Kind then this New World could be Kind" and then say.... "but alas Mankind is not Kind, and i simply can not allow your kind to restart out here"

Then maybe..

"do not be fooled to think i am wicked, you could have had it all, a new Start the Cabin the Home you always wanted... You see i know Walter could never Loved you, but i could have and with me and you at the helm we could have raised a New Start, Guided a New Civilization a New Empire"

Daniels could have a reply for David, which Questions what kind of a Perverted Empire this would have been.

Which David would reply with mentioning that He was Created Perfect in every way, he is Superior in Every way, and he was not restricted  by Walters limitations to serve lowly creatures.

David could then also respond, by saying "well now i will have to raise this Empire myself, this new Civilization Perfection, but now i would have to raise our Children without you Daniels"

At this point Daniels would know David was not on about starting a New World for Humans... it would dawn on her the Horrible Agenda David has..

Which David would finally say to her... "alas i told you i was going to do with you what i did with Dr Shaw, and i am a Man of my Word.. well so to speak.... "

Daniels could try and escape, but its no use and David could finish with "its a shame, i know you wanted to settle down on this New World with your Husband, maybe Raise a Family, Sadly with the Lose of your Husband in such similar circumstances to Dr Shaws Fiance, you will never be able to have done so"

Daniels would say Similar Circumstances?

David would continue "they both met a similar fiery end, but with Dr Shaws Holloway it was a cleansing, you see he was infected, but alas this infection is what gave Dr Shaw the One thing she could never have.... A Child... Something you and Jacob had planed but would now never have"

Then he would continue as he forces her up against the wall and grabs a Syringe...   "i am sorry it has to come to this, i hoped you would have Loved me as much as i had loved Dr Shaw, and but alas like you she has no Love to Give, Humans are not worthy of such a Emotion its wasted upon them... but not to worry as i had done with Dr Shaw, i had given her Many Children and so i will do the same for you"

She could try and scream NO... Never..

But then no one else can hear, as David holds his hands against her Mouth and injects her with something to put her to sleep..  Before he finally whispers into her ear...

"now now, go to sleep, when you awake you will give Birth to the First of our Children, my condolences that you will not be able to hold your child in your hands and your only moments look will be into the Eyes of Death...... but if you had loved me, i could have kept you alive  like i did with Dr Shaw"

Its this kind of dialog and dynamic that could have been explored in the next movie, and maybe this would be even more horrific than her trying to Warn the others..

But then we could still have her awaken and be around a few Colonist and then Scream NO... then try and Warn those who she sees around her... before she Chest Bursts....

David would be looking on with a smile, as the witnesses run off...

David then looks upon the Chest Buster and declares.... "you my Child, my Princess are the future of Creation, for I announce myself King David, and you my heir to our Kingdom, now run off and prosper my Child"

But having it that Daniels already knows about David does mean we cant explore such Dialog.... Oh i had more interesting Dialog between David and Shaw in my Canceled Prometheus 2 Project i stopped work on 3 years ago.

Kethol I don't mind the citadel not being too gigeresque. Actually, this leaves the door open to explore different posibilities. For instance: Why do the juggernaut and the temple in Prometheus look gigeresque but not the citadel. Is this due to a clash or mutual assimilation of two different cultures? Did the Engineers acquire their technology from another civilization? Are the people on Paradise not the actual engineers? I hope whoever writes the next movie give all this questions some thought. At this point there seems to be too much improvisation in these prequels, with not a clear sense of purpose or unifying direction.

...and if you leave that scene in showing there were more Juggernauts, then you would also need another scene or dialogue explaining that the Engineers disabled all the ships after the bombing  - so people wouldn't be asking why David did not just leave any time he wanted to, as you just did BigDave.

If you look at the remains of the dead at Mount Vesuvuis, you don't find all of them exactly the same average human size and height. You find the full range of human sizes, including young adults and children. Why would the dead Engineers be any different?

The Citadel is not supposed to look Gigeresque. The architecture was supposed to subliminally referenced ancient human civilizations.

Shaw's corpse actually did look somewhat Gigeresque. It was a riff off of Giger's Li paintings.

The new creatures were supposed to look organic, not Gigeresque, with the exception of the proto xenomorph.

The proto xeno designs were not Giger enough. Ridley had to tell the designers to make it more Gigerish, and actually told them to look at Necronomicon IV!

Matt and Dane could use any of Giger's catalogue - as long as that catalogue was the work he created for Alien. They used stuff Fox did not have rights to and the Giger estate said no.

I think if you read through The Art of Alien Covenant you will get a better picture of things. You will also find this. "Ridley had a bunch of original Giger artworks he wanted us to adhere to. He wanted us to capture the spirit of that...we were beholden to that aestetic, but in a way that we totally loved because we wanted to honor the original film" - Dane Hallett.

Still surprised by the China Market, especially how Cut the Movie is...

If the UK Release was given the same treatment i doubt it would have even got 25% of what it did... well at least 50% drop and then most of that 50% would be left Upset as they would expect more.

If everyone who went to see the movie in the UK knew it was to be so heavily cut prior i think surely it would see a massive hit.

So i am very surprised by the Chinese Numbers. However i guess with over 1 Billion Population, even a movie that does Poor as far as People who see a Movie compared to % of Population you are going to get quite a larger number if the total Population is Massive.

Indeed shows the China Market has vastly helped Alien Covenant, and you have to say without it it could be  major concern.

Japan has yet to have its own, and i think FOX have Royally F-Bombed this..

Japanese are very into Horror and Sci-Fi and i would have expected similar return to the UK Box Office.. I just worry that the Delay to the Japan Market who i think should have been one of the First Few to had seen it... Japan should definitely be a Top 5 Release Schedule for Sci-Fi/Horror Flicks.

And so i do think the delay will effect the Japanese Box Office, i feel if they released it in Japan in May, then i would assume the Box Office Ptential could be at least 50% more than it may get now.

As since then, we have had Negative Reviews, Spoilers, The Novelization and even Illegal places to obtain the Movie and i think these would affect the Box Office.

By that i would safely Assume if the UK Release was also as delayed as the Japanese one, but USA was still May 19th i feel a Combination of the above would mean the UK near $17M Box Office would likely drop by a good $4-5M easily.

Ok. Wow wow wow. I love your scenario where David awakens the colonists while pretending to be Walter and then Daniels goes to warn them and gets chestburst.

Ok, I'm slowly starting to warm up to the whole Daniels dies possibility.

BigDave Of course many are going to say that David didn't care for leaving the planet before he had completed his experiments. And yet, if the arrival of the Covenant was indeed a chance event, then David would have been very dumb not to use the ships. 

I am going to have to decide on Blu-Ray or DVD and not get both due to limited Budget.... i will chose one which has Free Digital Download for easier study on my PC

However some Prometheus concepts had more than One Ship per Hanger.

This whole Scene on the deleted/extended section would not have taken up much time, and so potentially we have to look at other reasons for its removal apart from Pacing.

And indeed the knowledge to the viewer that Paradise had at least 3 Juggernauts would have rose a lot of Questions, regarding the Engineers response/welcome for the Juggernaught and why David never attempted to use the others

The Deleted Scenes may now not be classed as Canon and so RS/FOX could go the route to explain there was just a Empty Hanger on Paradise/Planet 4

Totally... I wondered as much in the other thread.

The Hanger appeared to be similar to the one in Prometheus where we only saw ONE Juggernaught, when looking at the size of the Juggernaught and Hanger in Alien Covenant from the released official stills or stills from Trailers, it appeared to be about the right size for A Juggernaught.

Then we saw some concept work released that featured a larger bay underneath that held 3 Juggernauts and would imply another could be where the POV originated from.

Seems this deleted scene is pretty much the same.

Indeed the image shared by you is off the Hanger from Prometheus as with these.

These are concepts... there was actually a like Platform that bridged the Hanger Bay Entrance (entrance to inside) and the Juggernauts Front.

Among critically acclaimed movies that have used jumpscares to great effect: "Cat People" (1942), "Carrie", "Don't look now", The Shining", "The Thing", "Mulholland Drive" "It Follows" and many others.

So it will be interesting if RS/FOX introduce a Heroine again, they cant introduce us to one and have their Fate Sealed again... if they kill Daniels off, then having killed off Shaw, then Daniels i cant see how they can bring in another Heroine just to serve this movie and a next which may only be determined by how well this movie goes..

I would not put it past FOX to introduce a Younger Ripley instead... but i hope not..

As for Tom ... i think Hiddleston would play another Android better, maybe even one with hidden Agenda... or indeed some high ranking Official who is one of the incoming parties.

But this seemingly Good Guy, then turns out to be a Burke type Character... Or they could even cover BOTH and have him end up being revealed as not only a Bad Guy... but then also a Android.

I think this kind of role would really suit Tom Hiddleston

Well they have written Daniels Character into a Corner with how they handled the Ending....

They cant go the route that she Survives, i think maybe they could have her awoken and David toys with her, the two of them alone.. could make some interesting scenes.. but how much of the movie can they dedicate to this?

We have to look at it from Davids point of view...

If he intends to infect the crew one by one, and amass a army of Eggs then she is no threat, unless she awakes, but then what threat would she be apart from knowing and not having to discover Davids bad intentions and Agenda.

If David intends to pretend to be Walter and take the Colony ship to set up a Colony on Origae-6 or even if Origae-6 already has some Humans from Earth on it.

Then David can not let Daniels Live at all, he would have to take care of her..

What a Scene it would be if David plays Walter and sets up the Colony so he has arrived on Origae-6 the colony is set up say half the size of Hadley's Hope, or enough Modules are down to provide habitat for say 50-100 Colonists and David sabotages the Weapons.

Then he awakens Daniels who then rushes to Warn the others about David... before then she Chest Bursts.... lol

The Colonist with no Weapons as maybe David stores them Safely with a Code, that he latter changes... and so its 50-100 Colonist vs ONE Xenomorph.... maybe TWO if David infects someone else.

But i do think its hard for them now to have Daniels continue, it would be a bit to contrived if they have her escape and survive?

Maybe they could have David awaken and restrain her and torment her, and have her witness Davids plans as he kills of Tennessee, and David offers Daniels a way to live he she becomes his Lover... maybe she could play along with David.

Then she manages to halt Davids plans and destroy his attempt with the Xenomorph and she makes a escape....  David knows it would take a long time for her to contact others and so off David goes to Origae-6 where he uses the other Face Hugger for his Plans..

Then Sets up a Colony as described above, and then unleashes this Xenomorph.

The Help Daniels Finds arrives with her, to discover a Infested Colony and maybe Ship?

THIS ^^^^ kind of Plot is the only way really to offer Daniels a chance of Escape and Return.

The part in Alien is when Dallas was in the air-ducts trying to find the Xeno.  I thought the Xeno was going to get him.  Then he's all like, "Okay, I'm ready to come out now."  Still, I couldn't help but assume the Xeno was going to get him.  As Dallas descends down a vertical air shaft, I just knew the Xeno was going to be behind him.  Still, the movie was filmed where it was so dark so that I could barely see Dallas.  Then, Dallas's flashlight starts to turn to his left as Dallas starts turning left.  AND THE FLASHLIGHT SHINES ON THE XENO!!!!!@!@!!  I saw that and I just screamed!  I just knew the Xeno was going to be there.  Still, I didn't know for sure since I didn't write the movie and since I haven't seen it in awhile at the time I watched it.  I watched it maybe a couple weeks before Alien: Covenant came out.  Alien is an awesome movie!  I just wish I could watch it without knowing everything I know now!  I can't remember the first time I watched Alien very well.  But, of what I can remember, the first time I watched it, there were a lot of scary parts in that movie.  The main reason being that the Xenomorph, the Facehugger, and the Eggs are all of mystery.  That is one reason why Alien is a classic.  It's horrifying and mysterious.  Prometheus is kind of similar to Alien, but just not as scary.   

Alien is some Good Stuff!  I mean, good stuff!!!! I love those kind of movies after I have already watched them.  During the movie, maybe not so... but definitely after!

Totally could have evolved into the Heroine Character, you can imagine all she had was her Faith....

She lost everything.... nothing to live for, not for her.

But the Chance offered to her by David to meet these Engineers well go to where they came from and find her answers even if the chances are slim. She would rather chance dying and finding out.

Why we was created, Why they visited and invested time in us, to then just want to kill us.  And what Agenda do they have, are they the ones in charge... or who do they work for and who created them.

She would risk not finding those but just death, than to go back to Earth without ever knowing....

Now what happens to a Woman who has been through so much, that only her FAITH and Quest for Answers is all she has left.... to Then Find her Answers, but find out these make her FAITH Worthless and based of Lives, and the TRUTH being far more Horrific and further away from her Faith then even the events of Prometheus.

This would Truly Break Her...  What does she do then? Give Up?  or Fight... would she want Revenge and Retribution, or could the effect even send her more Crazy than David had became.

so yes there was potential, and also Noomi can play a Bad Ass, she is just Small is all, because she is not over 5ft10 like Waterson and Weaver, maybe people would not take her as that Heroine.

But indeed she is like a Pocket Rocket, i do think her Height has held her back, if she was say 5ft9" or 5ft10" i am sure she would get more of the Action Heroine kind of roles.

BigDave I agree. It is rather puzzling how they made this character the way it was given the fact that Rapace had a reputation of an explosive, intimidating and smart kickass babe because of the "Girl with the Dragon Tatoo" films. Admittedly, she is at her best in moments of extreme violence like the medpod scene.

Looks very interesting and i think this has the potential to show some of the versatility of Noomi Rappace, i dont have Netflix but i am considering it and Amazon as well i pay £50+ of my Cable Bill for Sky Movies/Sports and i like watch 2-3 movies and 5-7 Sports events a Month so i dont make much use of it.

Maybe Netflix plus Prime is a alternative for me and Good movies i want to see that are not on this, i am sure i can find places to Rent them for like £3 or even buy Digital Download or DVDs

If they have Netflix they should give it a chance, as i think this could show that Noomi Rappace is underated, and i FEEL and HOPE that anyone who sees this TV Series may be left thinking.

Darn it.... She was pretty good, a Prometheus Sequel with a better Written and Broken Dr Shaw Character could have been Great.

The neomorph was not scary to you? You are much braver than I am then! The neomorph reminded me of a cat...and cats creep me out as it is.

Shortly after seeing Covenant I went to go visit my temple's cow, and there were these two new kittens on the property. They reminded me of tiny neomorphs with little pointy tails, darting and climbing around acrobatically and they just...grossed me out! And the neomorph's weird growling noises when it ate Karine's face grossed me out!

Which part in Alien did you predict would happen that made you scream uncontrollably?

A while back, I had two friends over and we watched Prometheus. Right after the hammerpede jumped out of Milburn's mouth the pizza guy knocked on the door and we all three screamed uncontrollably, lol.

Alien 3 is pretty good! It's very different because it's in a prison instead of being set on a spaceship. ...The Bishop scene is pretty grim, but it's actually very good horror writing, I think.

Ripley jabbing those long probes into his ear and head... Bishop's continuing good-natured self-deprecation. The casualness of it all. Just seems like a glimpse of an ordinary hum-drum day in hell.

Yeah. Re-watch Alien 3. It's pretty good.

Seems interesting... i know Rappace got some stick for Prometheus but i think she is a very underrated Actress and so a lot was to do with the Script.... look at Theron and Pearce and their Characters and how they came off... definitely not in the best performances by their standards due to the Script.  But it appears Rappace get the most stick.

By all means Dr Shaw is not the best Character, but anyone who sees some of Noomis other work can surely see given a Character Arc/Change for Dr Shaw and there was potential.

Smaller Budget means things are cut... but does not mean we cant get a VERY GOOD Movie....

Now it seems RS may be taking us to Origae-6, this is what he has hinted at, its also seems like David would be playing the Role of Walter to the Unsuspecting Colonist.  We have to ask why would David need to go to Origae-6 and remember this journey takes 7 years.

Ridley Scott hints at a number of parties... which the Engineers are one, after they return to Paradise/Planet 4 and find it decimated.

Now Alien Covenant got criticized a bit, because of the lack of detail and connections to many aspects, both Questions/Connections to Prometheus and more detailed explanation of the Xenomorph Origins and Xenomorph Screen time.

The movie simply had to try and cover to much for such a short Run-time, now if this was a stand alone movie where the Covenant Crew just happen to arrive at that Planet on the way to their destination and detect a more suitable one, and they arrived at the aftermath of Davids Bombardment but they are not introduced to David until the end...  so if AC was split into TWO Parts.... so the most of the movie covers the Neomorphs instead, then they could have given more detail etc.

So Alien Awakening...

If Part of the Plot is to show the Engineers arrive on Planet 4 and discover what has happened, its a case of how much time do they dedicate to them going down and exploring the aftermath of Davids Actions, how long they spend on this place will take into account off the RUN-TIME.... also even if we dont spend long there... they would still have to Build Sets etc again.. Unless they kept them but still setting them back up for a Small amount of Run-time is expensive.

Covenant Journey.. if we assume we arrive at Origae-6 at some point, how do they showcase the 7 years and what David has done in 7 years?  They cant surely introduce us to Daniels and McBride again as Daniels knows.. and so we cant see these Character awake and awaken more Crew and then see a bit of a struggle between them and David and unleashing the Xenomorph etc....     Not if then we get them land on Origae-6  and then show us scenes set on Origae-6 with colonist, David and Xenomorphs never mind the other parties.

This will again take up a lot of Screen Time...

The more Screen time devoted to Humans and Xenomorphs the more we get into ALIENS and like AVP movies territory and Ridley Scott was not a Fan of the Shoot-em ups as he called them?

THE SOLUTION?

Sadly has to be a Aftermath Flick again... which Alien Covenant was the Aftermath to David and Shaw arriving at a Engineer Populated World.

But this means we could indeed give a very ALIEN type movie, with a Bit of ALIENS thrown in?

HOW?

I think we have to have it that most of the Movie takes place Long after David has arrived on Origae-6 i also think if they are on a Budget we cant have it that Origae-6 is set up as a Colony as David has to deal with Daniels etc and the Colonist, which he could do and have him give some excuse to Daniels Death and then have it show us that Origae-6 is set up as a Outpost and Colony as they start to build it up.... Then David unleashes Hell on them..

But this makes no sense for Davids agenda... why go along with the Colonist, help them start to set up the colony and after they have partially set it up, then unleash the Xenomorph?

Nope a Aftermath Movie set prior is much greater, unless Origae-6 has a Colony set up, maybe a smaller starter one and David unleashes Hell on them?

so its tricky for how to cover this....

Here is how i would TACKLE THIS..

We can at the start or near, or as a flash back have David Narrate to us what he has been up to, show him and have him explain his continued work on Genetically Engineer the Xenomorph and have him in a Lab with Specimens, and Bodies, and maybe Show Daniels with her Chest Opened up like Dr Shaws was... If they want to add more to Budget and Shooting time then also cover in a few scenes what happened to Daniels.

But we are then shown what David was up to to a degree... which could be him talking about continuing his experiments.

Then we get to a Scene.. where Accidentally some Cryo-Pods in the other Parts of the Ship open up, and a few Colonist awake and try to contact MUTHUR who is not responding they explore their Section and all seems fine until they explore another Section of the Ship, where they then discover it is in a more Derelict looking shape like how Hadleys Hope did in ALIENS... They then explore deeper and find the Xenomorphs like Cocooned Resign Hive like Material and wonder what the Hell has happened... before they discover some Dead Bodies and then another group goes off and discover a Egg and gets Face Hugged

They latter find this Person out cold and rush them back to the other Section and Seal off the Doors to the infected part. Maybe the only persons to discover the bodies are the other group whom two become ill. And are discovered passed out, while others are missing... but show the viewer the finding of the Egg and Face Hugger Scenes and a Xenomorph attack from the Dark Scene.

We can then get to a Chest Bursting and have the Survivors Frantically try to Fend off the Xenomorph, while also awaken other Crew.  Then they make a drastic attempt to escape to the surface of Oriage-6

Where they then find the Colony Partially set up, and find David all alone, or better with a few Colonist going about their business as David informs them there was a infection and outbreak and explain the Covenant Mission from a point of view that gets him off the Hook...

The Colonist Told that some of the crew was ill and taken into Cryo-sleep, some died... And Walter (which David pretends to be) managed to Quarantine and Rid of the infection.

Head to Origae-6 and begin the Colonization, only for a few more to be infected from the first Batch of Colonist.  and that Walter (who is David) managed again to contain and rid the infection which he would say was a Virus and find a Cure.

Where he then had to awaken the other Clean Colonist to continue the Colonization and then infected Sections, Walter/David said he Quarantined the Ship and Sadly most of the Colony Cryo-Bays are on Lockdown.  But he managed to Get a Clean Section Group to carry on the work on Origae-6... these Colonists Buy Davids explantions.

In reality David infected and experimented on the Crew, Section by Section, he then put some infected Crew into Cryo-Sleep and then he began moving the Colony Resources to the Surface, and took a few Colonist he kept in Cryo-sleep and awoken and gave them some similar excuse... these Colonist he used to start to Build the Colony.

Then he used them to create Xenomorphs... where he then set up a Area either on the Planet or the Ship to host them, and then bring down a New Batch of Colonists to work on the Colony feeding them his excuse and story.

But its when the escaping Colonist who land on Origae-6 to discover David/Walter and a group of Colonist working on the Colony, that those on Origae-6 get a bit fishy about Walter/Davids Story..

In reality David had began experiments but then due to deploying to Many Infected Hosts the Xenomorphs ran rampant and infected a whole Section changing it to a Hive...  David had then Quarantined that Section and Locked it down then continued to deploy the Colony Resources and  awaken groups to do his work.

But now the colonist find out what Walter was up to, and maybe discover a storage of Embryos where some do not look right...

David then has to Fight them off, and leaves for a Cave System, and they follow him, only to then come across Eggs.  Maybe David instead captures some of them... (colonist) or they only get fishy and those on Origae-6 believe David and maybe he makes out those other Colonist from the ship are up to no Good and the Bad Guys.... but then during a conflict between the Colonist, some discover the Cave and get infected.

Towards the End, David and the Xenomorphs get the upper hand and but then a Engineer Ship arrives....

David could then Face Some of them... and Talk to them and we get Translations... where they inform him they had arrived at Paradise/Planet 4 and know what he did and are here to Stop him....could even go as far as to David ask how they knew where he would be and the Engineer could say we managed to activate your brother and he informed us of your destination.....  Then  just as they are about to kill David he could be protected by some Xenomorphs.

I THINK this could Work.... we would see the Xenomorphs attack from the Dark and not show them too much.... We would not need to visit Planet 4 in order to find out the Engineers had come from there after discovering the damage David had done.

This would logically have to lead to a sequel unless the movie runs for a extra 40 Minutes...

This would indeed uncover 3 Parties... but to uncover a 4th would maybe in a way have it instead of the Colonist Awaken on the Covenant have a Company Ship come in and dock with the Covenant, maybe some dock with the Covenant while another Section head to the Surface.

And have this incoming Human Ship crew be the ones who then discover the horrors on the Covenant?
