Dark Nebula, yes, that is a much larger charred body than the one next to it.

This might just be too much (below) for me to handle right now. When Ridley Scott talked about David 8 being "mad" (insane) in an interview in the past weeks...who knows what he might do.

This could be Shaw's fate...transformation. Or perhaps this was David's only way to "save" her in that she was dying and david gave her life. 

I tried to alter the perspective of the set-pic (left) and scaled down/darkened the giger original (right).

Although being very similar I don't think they're the same picture.

I might be wrong, though.

I truly wished I was less familiar or educated with firearms, so the used rifles and guns (all models and everything on them is from our date already or even some decades old) werent such a disappoinment in the way of a missed creative/designable opportunity : /

Hope they at least fire with something futuristic and more powerful than plain bullets and a blowback/gas operated system on screen...

The giger picture looks different than the one on the set.  The one on the set does indeed resemble Shaw.  Also, remember that 1 dude who visited the set and said he saw a image of Shaw with tubes coming out of her head??  BAM

the one the mythbuster is holding is the Thales F90, which is based on the Steyr-AUG Platform (first developed in the late 1960s) with a mounted ACOG scope, ergo foregrip, either laser sights or tactical flashlight up front and custom barrel rails (irl ones are used for cooling methods)

I guess there are places in the US you could go out and buy exactly that weapon and loadout within days as a functional movie prop^^
