in the Necronomicon all seems to have its own life, to my I would have liked that everything in the temple is alive. I like that the biomechanoids biomechanoids or the skeletal monstrosities attack astronauts from the walls, ceilings or even the floor. but it seems that things are going for the scope of the mutation lol. and these suits are obviously not fossils, but given its organic nature must be prone to wear and tear over time.
PS: I'd like that the space jockey is an alter ego of Prometheus and his punishment is to give birth to a jock-alien…ah and I hope that the monsters are very abstract, I do not see mutant zombies...

This little quote from it sent shock waves through my whole body just now.
'Prometheus' - starring Charlize Theron and Michael Fassbender - will reveal how the extra-terrestrial Xenomorph nest which Ripley and her crew discovered on an abandoned spacecraft in the first film in the franchise came to be there.
Sounds to me that Prometheus is about the jockeys and Prometheus 2 will be about the Aliens, from this line...
"...What we’re trying to do is squeeze in two prequels…if you explain who he was and where he came from then you want to find out where they came from and you might was to go to this place where his people come from."
But there are not supposed to be any Xeno's in this movie....so how can they reveal their nesting habits. And who said that? the article does not say.

ReplyMr.JPrometheus ForumSigourney Weavers Alien AdviceJan 20, 2012
I think we have to lose the "xeno" mentality. Grant it, Cameron made one heck of a film when it came to a sequel but Scott is staying far away the series as we know. It is a creature for all intents and purposes. I think xeno just makes the Alien creature sound stupid anyways, of course that is just my opinion...these creatures are smart as we know and not just a battery acid bug.
It will be interesting to see what Scott will do...I mean, this is "his" story and to see him return is amazing...I have complete fait his abilities.

she's not saying there are, the people who interviewed her are saying the film will explore the home world of the Jockey or at the very least how The Nest Of Eggs got to be underneath where the Derelict Crashed On LV-426.

What truly brilliant marketing. I'm new to commenting on this forum but certainly not new, at all, to reading it. how many times have we watched the trailer in real time ahem shot for shot over analyzing it to death?! We are all guilty! And what a guilty pleasure. Now the arguments over whether or not there will indeed be xenomorphs, facehuggers, pre-facehuggers in the urns. I have been looking forward to this since '86 since in my mind the series stops there. I do hope we end up eventually learning where the main nest came from but I don't need all the answers crammed into 1 movie as there are so many questions already. I certainly have faith in Ridley and think this movie is going to absolutely rock and until then...I will continue to happily speculate!

Hey everyone,
I'm new to commenting here but have been reading up on this greatly anticipated movie since I first heard of it only a few weeks ago. I'm a huge fan of the alien universe (having made both a scale soldier and queen costume through the years)... And was shocked I hadn't heard of this prequel earlier. My question is this: (and I apologize if I've missed it being answered)...
If this is a prequel and takes place before the Nostromo's crew gets screwed, and the story is about the SJ race and derelict ship... How has so much time passed between events? I mean, it takes thousands of years to mineralize something, let alone fossilize it. Therefore the SJ in the pilot's seat can't be that old. Future earth can't have survived that long with us in charge... And besides, the tech. In this movie is comparable to what the Nostromo had.
Thoughts?

I agree with Fassysgrl and am new (tonight) to posting. Aren't we having fun! In light of not having heard this angle yet, let me throw out this theory... My apologies if it's been previously discussed.
There is/are no pre-existing space jockey(s). Only urns. The ship's flight is automated. The human crew makes an S J (in their image) by accident, compliments of screwing around with the goo... And each other. And then more get made or "wake-up" and add to the maylay. Either this ends up crashing the ship conveniently on top of a cavern full of previously deposited eggs (unlikely)... Or they already exist in another part of the ship. One of the surviving crew goes in the wrecked ship for possible survivors and gets infected by a face hugger which infects the last surviving SJ. We screw ourselves? And we were worried about global warming?
PS
Ridley loves symbolism. Hence the image of the simplified egg cracked by light in the first movie (why wasn't a more realistic egg from the actual movie used on the posters and ads? What do we see on the new poster for Prometheus? Us.

That's the best 'this stupid, yet awesome, thing I've done' story I've heard in a long time.....thanks for that.
Thinking back, I remember the days in my childhood when there was no Netflix online rental service, no brick and mortar Blockbuster/Hollywood Video mega-chain stores...just your everyday mom and pop video store here and there. Mine was called West End Video. It was three blocks from my house and I think back on how my love of movies started there. I'd move up and down the isles, mesmerized by the various titles I'd never seen, yet could not wait to consume.....
...and even now, I look back and I can see this black, grey and green tape that was always in the corner, with its torn and freyed cardboard edges and that fascinating picture of a cracked green glowing egg hovering over a rusty metal grate. I was fascinated with that tape, going back to it over and over until my parents finally let me rent it. I read that description countless times.....of horror in space with probably the greatest tagline in history, "In space, no one can hear you scream." That still makes me smile
ReplydbPrometheus ForumHas Prometheus stirred any "Alien-based" memories?Jan 20, 2012
And now it makes others smile too. Ever wonder why the egg on the box was just an egg and not a more realistic representation from the movie? Symbolism aside... Or maybe it's just that simple... So might the "big head" be?

The best 'this stupid, yet awesome, thing I've done' story... Is when I took a tumble (in downtown Orlando) off my drywall stilts as the queen... Dumb, dumb, dumb.

There I totally agree with you. I think there are aspects of this movie we haven't even come close to realizing yet, and Scott is doing an excellent job of feeding us just enough to make it almost unbearable. How's this for ya'. I won't be able to see it when come out. I will be deployed so I will have wait until 2013 before I can see it. Bummer.

one thing I cant understand in this thread is that nobody has notice Shaw's suit is different in both pics!!! Orange piping in the other one. Subtle differences to the suits in the original shot of the three explorers in ampule chamber. So that's 3 different suits so far for the science team.

@bigbirdjimmy (and danrald too)
Sorry guys but the last part of my earlier post wasn't actually aimed toward you to at all, but a third party and was for all to read though :-) ...apologies if that part of my post came across as being other wise :-). Oh and bigbird, I couldn't have said that better myself!
Oh and danrald - totally! :-) I always thought that the egg chamber we see in Alien was a little too long-looking (especially in one particular shot - as looks to have an 's-bend' shape to at as someone else noticed) to be actually still within the derelict. But again, who knows for sure about this? And who knows if we'll even find out about that little puzzle. However its wall surface architecture/contruction was the same as what we saw in areas that were definately within the derelict. This could mean one of two things, a) the egg chamber is also of SJ origin just like the derelict, or b) the xenos have been at work setting-up home to encompas the derelict too (which is my personal preferance).

@Game Over Man! The text that appears in your window after you hit ok on the URL request box should have [img] in those parenthecies before and after your URL text. Make sure that once you click ok on the box, text appears in your window. It should work.
Approach the spacing I was referring to like you would any grouping of paragraphs with extra spacing between them like I have here...I'll give you an example. After this paragraph, I'll put in a fake URL as it should look when you do it as I've suggested. And I left out the [/img] at the end so it show up for you. Then I will have a brief sentence following it to show you the proper spacing that I prefer and remember, I don't think the spacing should give you much trouble...it's more a personal prefference than anything.

I hope this helps my friend and good luck...trust me, it took me a bit to figure it out myself.
p.s. for some reason it won't let me space properly after the image text, so...I hope I was able to help anyway.
