Aliens go for the unarmed, avoiding Colonial Marines would give the players an extra lifeline, which would be needed as their numbers increase and a Colonial Marines DLC with access to the weapons could rub salt in Gearboxes open wound that was A: CM.
And a DLC adapting the Newts Tale comic book would also probably be welcomed by fans too. I will add these to the proposal, my thanks.
Ah, the origins of the name Snorkelbottom...
When my daughter was younger, one morning before school she saw a pile of Christmas presents I had wrapped the night before, but later when she came home from school they had gone. She asked if Santa had taken them. For some reason, I said no because he was too busy and that one of his elves had picked them up instead. When she asked for his name I panicked and threw two random words together Snorkel and Bottom.
Then when finally joining the Internet a few years later I needed a username, a handle, and when I first joined here back in 2011, a "secret identity" and remembering Snorkelbottom, and realizing how unique the name was, I took it on.
thats what we're all getting eye-twitching excited about auximenes, They shouldn't know about any of it, no.
hopefully ADFs book can enlighten us.
Or, its a red herring and will have nothing to do with it
The second and fourth one are Terran Battlecruisers from the Starcraft series!
Yeah, it was a field trial of his experiment.
How would W-Y know about what phobias would be appropriate for testing the subjects' reactions to? Shaw didn't know about Facehuggers, or even the Trilobite form of 'Hugger. She didn't know about the Deacon. What am I missing here?
what about you Timmy the ultramorph did you ever play the Dead Space or Resident Evil series that both had regenerating enemies? If done well like you suggest they can be quiet terrifying.
I'm not an expert in Alien, but what if the Engineer at the beginning of Prometheus wasn't "creating" life, but committing suicide because he was infected and left in Earth because of that. And the engineer in the ship attacked the crew because he knew that if one of them was infected, they could spread those aliens in another planet.
I recognise the second ship from Starcraft, I loved that design of ship.

Always been fond of the TEC capital ships from Sins of a solar empire personally

all good, just a reminder :)
oh. I didm'yt realize that. i havn't bean on for a while
The second and last images are pretty outstanding! I think they would fit best in the Alien universe out of the options in this post. Both of them look liek they could be best used as, like transport ships. Mostly shorter range. Maybe to and from a aplent with a space station of larger ship in orbit or near a planet!
Timmy the ultramorph with respect, this exact topic has already been discussed.
Scott states the Alien can 'Re-Grow".
Please have a quick check of the More Alien: Covenant Topics before posting a new thread.
Kind Regards

another negitive I forgot to mention is that it would be just a little bit unrealistic. if it could just sort of regrow limbs after they were torn off that would be like a gecko with there tails or a starfish with there limbs, but if ridley is saying that know matter how much damage it endures it will always just grow back, thats just unrealistic.
leramos2010 unfortunately the link didn't work. Can you fix it?
I hate to say this, but Ridley Scott is painting himself into a corner. The original 'Alien' movie (plus the deleted scenes) included all the information we needed to know about the xenomorph. Even the life cycle of the alien was covered. That's why many fans were shocked when the alien queen showed up, literally out of nowhere. That fact started the complication of the franchise. Had he stuck to the original movie, there would be no queen to try to explain now with these prequels. And now RS says that David created the xenomorph! How can he claim that if the Space Jockey has been on LV-426 for about 2,000 years sending the warning signal??? It just doesn't follow! I've attached a link to prove that the xenomorph existed long before the "Prometheus" mission was even started. You can watch the video at https://i.ytimg.com/vi/JY9MZpktwwQ/hqdefault.jpg?sqp=-oaymwEWCMQBEG5IWvKriqkDCQgBFQAAiEIYAQ==&rs=AOn4CLApnt0fBk8O5tCeUTdOca1YIbITpw .
the very first one would make a cool predator ship.
the second one and the last one get the architecture of the corporation down very well. especially the last one. the others just dont have that industrial feel to them. all really cool pictures.
Gavin I would welcome an Alien: Isolation experience @ Hadley's Hope. Every other game that has tackled Hadley's Hope has done so with the Action-shooter class game. Rushing about mindlessly shooting masses of Xeno's. On the attack, gun-ho commando style. No time to explore the depths of the facility, or get engrossed in the atmosphere of a colony on the brink and falling apart.
In a strange way it would be a welcome change to be stalked through the bowels of the C-deck, NOT in control for a chance.
Also, in Snorkelbottom a reference to something??
'If the Advent is a bridge to Awakening written by John Logan, we can expect a temporal jump, and a movie likely set on
Origae 6...'
There was a time when I thought that you were Sigourney Weaver but now I think you are somebody from John Logan's past. :) Is it a personal revenge spree? :) I could understand that... :)
Timmy the ultramorph - Happy you like them. I like your favourite one, that's a nice ship.
Ingeniero - Glad you like it. I hope the screenshots provided can serve as a brilliant source of some awesome theories created by you. However, you won't be the first... :)
Alien Isolation is the best game I've ever played o_o I hope this happens. We need another one o_o
David obviously believes he is a god now because like his "father", he believes that harnessing the power to create, destroy, and create again are the defining attributes of a god, but more importantly, having everlasting dominion over lesser beings (in other words, humans). Considering how xenomorphs are instinctively programmed to be efficient killing machines with a knack for survival, David knows they're virtually unstoppable and poised to "rule the universe", so he wanted to see one of these xenos in action before beginning his grand plan of perfecting the rest.
There are a couple of errors. The number of colonists escaping doesn't match in regards to Fire and Stone as well. SM listed them in his (?) "blog".
Personally i don't mind them too much. Since they have no or little impact on the big picture.
As for the Alien/Marine-dynamics. How bout the Aliens intentionally avoiding soldiers, only picking unarmed or single targets? Luring you to one spot while attacking elsewhere. That happens also in the book, if i'm not mistaken. That way you might not be in danger but are stressed by loosing ppl (distress calls, screams etc). I believe Hadley's Hope is more of an air duct hell than the Nostromo, not to mention the double ceilings.
I don't know if Newt is an option. It would be an interesting approach but we know she survives so there's hardly a twist.
apologises BigDave im just excited about what we got to see in Phobos and the potential implications lol. We have not had a great deal to get excited about lately.
I do hope the clips are not a red herring. If the book ends up being a load of coincidental hogwash that skirts around the possibilities that W-Y knew about the xenomorph, and ends up being a nothing story about a mooted sabotage.... I will be rather upset.
Same goes for if Ridley caves and puts a Queen in the next film just to give the fanboys a wet dream lol.
the akira wrong ship is just a bit to futuristic.
the paolo one is perfect for a weyland yutani military base or space station.
the one before the paolo one just dosn't fit the architecture of the weyland yutani corporation.
the one before that could work nicely as an engineer ship but not a human one.
the one before that is just a tad bit to starwarsesque.
the one before that just looks a bit to streamlined and pristine.
the one before that is by far my favorite and would be absolutly perfect for a varoety of differents things in the alien universe.
finally the very first one again looks abit to starwarseque.
overall, great pictures.
I'm glad this was brought up. I just finished up an outline for a sequel story called Olethros which takes place 40 years after Aliens and it basically follows a family that has woken up to an earth that has been completely eradicated/transformed by a widespread Engineer attack.
BigDave, Holy crap! Can't wait to read those projects!
Totally and i can see how it may seem like they are being prepared for a possible interaction with the Xenomorph... this is just one way to look at it and maybe its a Red Herring to let us think about this connection.
Or maybe indeed FOX/RS really are not giving much thought and we will see a whole set of prequels that Trove on things being just too coincidence, and maybe also the dreaded... Daniels Births a Xenomorph Queen that lays all the Eggs... a Fan Boys Wet Dream... now we just need Ripley lol
"and I still don't see how everyone didn't get killed from shooting each other when trying to hit the neomorph."
Ha ha yes... just like Watching THE A-TEAM
Also yes i guess in a Panic and with no Medical Help, a abandoned Ankor would have died from his wound... and it would not have been a very fast death.
Rumors could just be Rumors... i covered the topic of the Stance of FOX and possibly what they are thinking now a number of times recently... i will cover it again when i am not busy so maybe tomorrow.
As far as the Queen, i hope they have not Caved in and are indeed going the route of a Queen and by that something very close to the Queen in Aliens and this is what laid the Eggs on the Derelict... This is just a Lazy and Fanboy pleasing Plot. Hell they are even saying Ripley will connect back to it... hopefully not directly.
We maybe need to look at other ways David could mean a Queen?
A Queen in Relation to his Experiments simply means that he had used Dr Shaw as a vital ingredient to Perfect his Creation and get those Eggs... and so it is likely David simply means that Daniels will provide him the means to get Multiple Eggs.
It does not mean and i hope it does not... that David infects her with a Face Hugger and she gives birth to a Queen Chest Buster... this would be total Fan Service.
If we ignore Alien Covenant and we look at the Crossing Prologue and Imagine if after David puts Dr Shaw in Cryo-sleep, at this point David then enters his Creation Agenda Mode and wants to Create some Experiments.
David no doubt was interested in the Baby-Squid Shaw was carrying in Prometheus, and there are no clues to suggest David knew what became of this Organism especially after the Juggernaught Crash.
So David would be wondering what would Shaw have birthed and had she been put into Cryo-sleep what could the Company or himself had gained from Studying this Hybrid Birth
David was interested in what the Black Goo does, you would think he would want to explore more of what this does and indeed in Alien Covenant this is what he gets up to.
But going back to before they arrive at Paradise/Planet 4 we have to ask what could be crossing Davids mind as far as the Black Goo and what he knows at this point.
A Logically Starting Point for David would be indeed figuring how Dr Shaw had been infected with that Trilobite Fetus... was it just the Parasitic Pathogen entering her Womb, or infecting her Eggs?
If So David has the Black Goo and thats all he needs....
Or did it need a Male with infected Sperm? i am sure David would be pondering which of these resulted in the Trilobite, and if he figures it was a Male...
Then David needs a Male Sperm Donor.... ha ha what if there are some he can get from these Engineers? Or David could be like ok... "so i dont have Sperm, what happens when the Black Goo Directly infects a Egg Cell"
And you can be sure these kinds of things he had tried out while on Paradise after the Bombardment...
But now he is on the Covenant.. making Daniels a Queen does not have to mean her giving Birth to a Queen... looking at the effects of the Black Goo in Prometheus and Fifield, and especially the earlier concepts.. and then the Hammerpedes.. you have to wonder if a Black Goo infection controlled in a certain way could Create a Human/Xenomorph Hybrid and then ponder if this was a Female Human, what becomes of her Reproductive Organs... How would a Hybrid Procreate.
But alas FOX had panicked to give us Alien Covenant a more Alieny movie intended to directly connect to Alien via direct sequels.
David had just TWO Face Huggers and so maybe the Lazy Route is Face Hugger + Daniels = Xenomorph Queen = Eggs.
But when they planned TWO movies to Alien and the Derelict i think this kind of route is to straight forwards to require TWO movies to show us Daniels Bursts a Queen Xeno, who lays Eggs then these Eggs get on a Engineer Ship.
But i would not put it past FOX feeling the THINGS they changed to making a Prometheus Sequel to be more a Alien Prequel like bring back the XENOMORPHS did not improve on the disappointment of Prometheus but actually did worse.
So i would not put it past FOX, going... Ok we need a Xenomorph Queen and we have to Link Ripley back to the Story.
Sad... but i do think there is at least a 1/3 chance they will do just this.
as for on earth, i think that could work as one ofthe anthology movies. perhaps some space scavengers get to earth and it is a completely abandoned post apocalyptic setting and somehow weyland is still there and then xenomorphs escape and attack everyone.
i still think that they are going to try to creat an expaned universe not completely unsimilar to marvel. that seems to be what every studio wants right now. i think they are going to do spinoffs then anthology movies then try to connect it with the blade runner timeline.
Gavin you are right, this scene was a pure tack on for the trailer highlight reel. Looked like it was going to be a big scene but was really nothing, just a senseless death scene.
Also, that Terminator sex scene was weirdly and uncomfortably intense, especially with the melancholy piano-played theme songs being played over it lol.
MonsterZero you'd think sex would be the last thing on their mind after what they just went through, I agree.
I am going to be a bit busy now... but will reply as i was working on 2-3 Projects within the Universe and i covered them again the other week.
One was a Parallel story where a Human mining colony was set up on a World that contained a Buried Cave with Xeno-related Organisms that was different and a Buried Engineer Ship with few dead Engineers and a Alive one.
The other was a Parallel story to Alien R where a Failed Ripley 7 Queen and some of Ripley 8's DNA was taken to a other Facility near Saturn where this place worked on Genetic Engineer and attempting to create Super Soldiers. They use the Failed Ripley 7 Queen DNA to create a Hybrid Queen and we get off spring, and they then use Ripley 8 DNA to create a Enhanced Human to battle with them at the end. After the Companies Super Soldiers via Genetic Manipulation proved to not be a threat to the Alien infestation.
Ingeniero nice screengrabs! Didn't notice that, everything happened so fast in that scene
Very Difficult really...
The Universe was known for Ripley, Alien Xenomorph and Queen, and i think any after movie has to discount these... well just not cover them and offer something fresh.
We have the Yutani and Weyland company and History of Rivalry and what kinds of Technology they both have and what their companies mainly do... We also have the Merger and have to wonder WHY/HOW and what makes such Rivaly Companies Join, do they make up their differences and realize that working together they could offer a Massive Monopoly? Or was one company not doing well and a Forced Take over by their Rivals happened... and how would this stand with some of those behind/with the company that has the Short Straw (i think the ADF Prequel Novel may cover some of this).
The company does not have to be just about David and other Synthetics either... but its a case of would such a Spin off work?
The Engineers are Ancient and maybe their seeding and interaction with other Worlds stretches Far across the Galaxy, so this opens up a whole Star Wars/Star Trek Realm of Posibilities
Or a Alternative interactions with Humans in other parts of the Galaxy, think Caprica/BS Galactica meets Star Gate SG1, but then then again would this be something others would be interested in.
Then we also have the knowledge of LV-223 and that Black Goo, and the Engineers Experiments and what lead to this, did the Black Goo come from some Xeno-Related Ancestor? Did the Engineers Create similar Organisms in the Past.
And so we have to ask is the only Engineer Black Goo/Xeno-like DNA/Organisms only found on LV-426/223 and Planet 4/Paradise and maybe Origae-6 after David arrives?
Or are their remnants of the Engineers Evil Biology or Experiments somewhere else in the Galaxy, that Explorers could uncover.
So yes there are possibilities for sure, and RS seems to be interested in the AI aspect now, and the whole Alien Resurrection Plot does give us a back ground to how on Earth there had been Synthetic Uprisings, and so something like this could be explored too.
Huge question!
I suppose finally bringing the Alien to Earth? At least Mars, to keep the budget down.
So yeah...Some Xeno action on Mars or the moons of Saturn, making some great back drops! Then getting on to Earth.
BigDave you are right, and the 2 clips kind of contradict themselves with the events before and after Covenant.
Fear of Bacteria, Parasites, Fire, Penetration, Phallic-shaped objects. These seem suspiciously too close to being specifically targeted towards fear responses to the Xenomorph.
Below (left) is a screen-grab from one of the images flashed at the candidates. From a flash a rattlesnake strike and facehugger leap (right) looks ominously similar. W-Y knew what to expect in this.
