Just watched Alien: Resurrection again....
Starting to think this is my favorite Alien movie. Just amazing. Would like to see something like that again.
I'd support a soft reboot:
As I stated before: No CGI, 70mm FILM, Practical effects, low budget 30 million.
Just finish the David trilogy first! Please.
Looking at those Egg pics -
Did you notice in Davids lab that on the table there are really small eggs? Possibly small enough to have the Facehugger "embryos" inside. It was part of the evolutionary process i guess. Just wondering where the mini Facehuggers from the end of A:C came from and this is the only thing that i saw which could relate.
Carrie Henn and Lance Henriksen just touting for work in a future Alien movie. Of course they would say this, they get paid to act. Probably not even true.
think he may have been trying to put one of those embryos inside her?
just for AVPR fox owes us big time
sherries, with u 100%. after Prometheus there was the potential for dozens of sequels, spinoffs and stand alone movies. if they want to milk this franchise then some doors need left open. at this moment in time a lot of people on here feel stung by the anticipation for AC and speaking for myself I just wont get sucked into that kind of hype again. if they want to remedy that then fox need to open the wallet and give ridley more free range. I def think we deserve an all out face paced, not a moment for breath movie with all involved facing off.

Honestly i really do think that there is a good chance of getting what we are suggesting here. Fox never knew what to do with the Franchise i thought but i do believe they will hang on to it closely as it could easily become the Franchise it deserves to be.
Fox will want decades out of this and if delivered in the right way they will get it ;)
IF that film turns out to be A:A then i think it has the opportunity to lure a massive audience if it is delivered correctly.
Imagine Colonial Marines, Engineers and Xenos !!
Then throw in the Bird Faced Creatures from the mural in P.
Why not ?
We deserve to be spoilt for our loyalty.
Other Franchises do not have to wait decades for the Universe to open up. We are patient. We do NOT expect classic after classic. We are ready ATI !! ;)
@Ingeniero Hell yeah Big Trouble in Little China is by far my favorite Carpenter film! Followed by The Thing!
I dont think David kills Shaw. When Daniels asks him what you did to her he answers the same thing im going to do to you.And then he kisses her.Maybe David kissed Shaw?
yes bring the marines into the franchise now. totally agree sherris
its a fairly save ark to take within a movie yet offers so many possibilities. u can even have the AI help the humans right upto the very end or even have a sequel only to find out the AI is indeed a malicious evil entity programmed by the company to get what they want by any means so the AI chooses to be helpful until it can close the door slowly before the poor bastards can escape from the xenomoprh, turn to them with a smile and walk off.
the general feeling about AI is that even artificial intelligent life will develop the basic protocol, survival. and will view humanity as a threat in a heart beat so should we ever create it?
'I am in favour of a war movie.
About time too !! We need to keep this franchise moving and different types of films could keep things fresh.'
sherris - I totally agree with you! :)

Also after looking at the Weyland timeline and the editing of it i think the Colonial Marines are going to turn up in A:A
Your idea is brilliant.
But I think it would be good to see a battle between WY and the Engineers and David and Xenos and a new alien species... :D
If the battle is a clever one serving the story, it would be OK!
if u mean something like showing the engineers in the past battling with another powerful race and resort to creating the black goo then hell yea.
yes definitely. I liked the character of shaw. I feel she brought something different in a female lead to the story and thought she made for a stronger character than daniels. I think the general feeling is for a flash back in length of her crossing with david and to see how she meets her fate, whether it be at davids hands or the remnants of the black goo. I for one don't think david was the one that actually killed her, more believes he is letting her live on through his creations.
Are you against or for a future Alien War movie?
You're right, but some flashback scenes could work.
just don't see how. cloning has been done. an offspring if done right but I just don't see how shaw herself can come back in a way that wont be torn to pieces by fans. not meaning that in a negative way against the fans, just I don't see any way that they can put an original and believable idea on screen
Is it possible to bring back Shaw in a Covenant sequel in a believable way?
so is that the un-named writer of the short alien5 script is? not really a script but just part of the opening act. it is actually ok but has more of an engineers feel to the opening act with the alien ship appearing from nowhere
Thank you Starlogger.
Yes Dr. Curt Connors. Hong is more than great. I watched Big Trouble in Little China more than 100 times.
Ingeniero - You're welcome. I thank you - I love these images, but I didn't want to post all of them, there are so many! I'm going to post some Dane Hallett creature images as well.
@Ingeniero I see brilliant minds think alike :)
I love this stuff Ati. Thank you again for posting the images and the associated artist.

The reflection of the Covenant ship above on the incoming particle wave in the last Steve Burg image is so great. Forgive me if you have cited these below before but I love this art from Steve Burg too.

I loved it when Billy held a fork at the Xeno. He was so ready for action!
Wow! That was exactly like some sort of confusing and unnerving dream!!
I liked the part where Oram started quietly crying, lol.
OMG MU/TH/UR 9000 , I love it!
I can really picture that trailer! Wow! Did you read the novel? Because that "Dream a little dream of me" bit really ties in nicely to David's thoughts at the end of the novel.
Your synopsis sounds awesome, can you like...send this to Ridley Scott or something?? Can you write this up as a fan-fic??
WHAT IS YOUR TWIST ENDING??
Of all the names that were mentioned by the author of this thread Ken Watanabe if they are making these movies serious like they used to be and not laughable like they are now. But fuck it Lopan, James Hong, because he is hilarious and he's in Blade Runner and he's f**king Lopan!
...so Paul "FH" Anderson is the one to blame for the stupidity known as "AvP"? Duly noted and actions will be taken from this point on as retribution.
@murnau I think you make some fantastic observations on human nature. I remember as a pre teen feeling some of those EXACT feelings---although I wouldn't say "mother" had anything to do with them---but the "Alien" as a sexual metaphor and a "violator" certainly was/is a longstanding and poignant one.
Thank you!!!
My husband and I are super excited! We're going for the second ultrasound this week!
Wow! Thank you so much!!! What a great way to start my day! I didn't think anyone would else would see this after all this time!
This is the story that brought me to this site, actually! I was looking for some place to post it, and this place seemed to be a good spot for fan fiction. :D
And now...I'm stuck here! Lol.
Shameless self-plug: I wrote one other Covenant fan fiction: http://www.alien-covenant.com/topic/45755&page=1
It's different to this one, so it's perfectly understandable if it isn't your cup of tea. Have an awesome day!
Easy choice for me:
Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0846480/
I get the sexual tones people are mentioning as the whole franchise is based on rape, reproduction and violence but I would connect ash and the magazine into that context. ash was just simply using what was available to him at the time to suffocate ripley then come up with a story. if hed strangled her then he would have had some explaining to do. it was just luck that parker and crew turned up when they did
1- What would you put on the movie poster.
The space Jockey chair empty
2- How many trailers would you release and what would you reveal on the trailers.
Trailer 1 - Weyland Yutani office Mars replaying the message Elizabeth Shaw left and replaying the secret message sent to them by David, a person cast in shadow saying "It's about time we meet our makers," and have a close up to the screen they have facing them with the planetary bodies featuring LV-426
Trailer 2 - Song starts"Star shinging bright above you" Panning through space and celestial bodies. "Sweet dreams will seem to whisper I love you" Flash back to Daniels and Jacob on the covenant "Bird singing in the sycamore tree" flash of the image of the engineer roof from the head room in prometheus disintegrating, then Daniels dreaming of the horrific things David is doing to either her or the colonists like a dream then cutting to David humming and putting his hands over the hypersleep pod where Daniels is as he says "Dream a little dream of me".
Trailer 3 - A Juggernaut ship rising out of the center of Paradise square, with the Alien sound screeching. And an army of oval ships and the Juggernaught heading towards a very familiar celestial space Origae-6.
3- What demographic would be your primary target.
18+ Keeping it rated R we want all out violence and gore
4- Would you try to distance from the previous installment in order to appeal more to those who did not enjoy Covenant too much?
I would take on some constructive criticisms and hire better writers, try to do less CGI when practical effects are acceptable and view editing in a cinema as opposed to a 4K screen in an editing suite to make sure the audience will get the same experience as me.
5- How do you plan to entice the casual movie goer.
This will be the movie that is the prequel to Alien, so every Alien fan that is still invested in the franchise or at least the new comers will want to see it.
6- How do you plan to entice the fanbase.
The fanbase is split because all the other movies are pitched differently, Alien was a horror, Aliens was a army film, Alien 3 was a prison film, Resurrection was a film about cloning and bio-weaponry. I would include all those themes in this one movie.
7- How would you make the character of the android grow on the audience.
Androids have always been a sure thing as the xenomorphs except in alien 3, David is still the devil but we can have an army of walter's come to the rescue.
8- Write down a short synopsis that will make everybody want to see this movie.
[The movie leading up to Alien would have all these things because the Weyland Yutani military division will have a reason to secure their assets created by david and retrieve the technology and knowledge gained from his work on planet 4, the horror aspect will be met with the works of David on the covenant crew and his perfect organism realised, the covenant will become a prison of sorts even after it lands on origae-6 with all the colonists david's captives, and the experimentation would definitely fill the gap of the ripley cloning. I suspect the wey-yu army may be made of many walters as it was a feature of the walter models, so more than one fassbender again? I would hazard to guess they won't want to kill off daniels as she has been set up to replace noomi rapace's character so Daniels would be the one to fight against david and his creations.]
Weyland Yutani has set about bringing their prized asset home to Earth and sent an army of space marines to secure their cargo on Origae-6, ahead of the fleet leaving planet 4 a familiar android pilots a juggernaught to go after the covenant. As he takes off an array of Engineer crafts follow close behind. What has befallen the colonists in hypersleep as David has been working on his singular task set by Sir Peter Weyland himself all those years ago. What terrors will await these seekers on Origae-6? In space no one will hear them scream.
I have a twist ending lined up already.
This was fun. Hope you liked my ideas.
