Tomb of the Gods is a title that I like, it almost sounds like a title to an Indiana Jones movie. Prometheus is not a disaster but it is too un-alieny so to speak but it has its good parts.
Changing the focus to the Engineers was not a bad thing it is just that it was not done very well. I like the idea but the end result could have been a lot better. Having said this it is not a disaster but it could have been done a lit better.
The sexburster would have been interesting to watch. It makes the Xeno closer to a metaphor about AIDS, disease and so on, have anyone noticed this about that eventual scene. I think that it is interesting to think about it at least. By the way I think that a small version of that scene is still in it, when Holloway stands there with a rose and that so at least with this in mind I kind of see where that scene comes (no pun intended) from.
"… (Spaihts doesn’t hide his disappointment about this) ..."
It makes more sense than what we saw on screen and I would rather have watched a movie based on his script. This does not mean that Lindelof is the only person to blame.
They went with the worst version possible for Fifield here is my list from best to worst of the different versions
1. Xeno
2. Lizzard or what ever to call the thing in the picture that Big Dave posted upper row of pictures far left. I actually think that it is alright even though the Xeno version is better.
3. Zombie version, that thing was really crappy
To find out that NO-ONE is Home, was disappointing to Holloway, i would also say drinking to wash away his sorrows/disappointment turned him into a Dick.... but then Drinking Alcohol can do that to a lot of people.
I suspect Holloway may have been an alcoholic, which was why he seemed quick to turn to drink. I also think he may have noticed David noticing Shaw, or tending to her more than the others and out of jealousy wanted to remind David he was a robot any chance he got.
I didn't mind Holloway, but maybe he was use to getting his own way as well. Or he was just a generally short tempered person.
Yeah... lightsaber... of course...
The geek factor is off the charts here- I had no idea- I love it! Maybe it's just me, but it looks like he is handling something else that is not a light saber lol! At any rate that is awesome. Thanks for the rare share!
Sticks and stones and bats do break bones, but these I.T. folks are to be both feared and revered!

Nice. Nice!
Personally I like the angry mob with Pitchforks and flaming batons approach

Spammers should be introduced to my good friend Louis from Jersey.

IRaptus The detective work around here never ceases to amaze!

So I just googled "Helen Ripley" out of curiosity. There is a Facebook account that matches. 6 friends and looks like a spam account. But Ironically, a cat lover. Profile pic of a kitty. XD
LOL! That is pretty out there! Maybe a free form thread every weekend could be fun.
LOL! Patrick pretty much nailed everything for me. Jameson and a back up flask helps cut through the crap it seems!
BigDave Those are interesting ideas about playing as a Xeno.
Here is another idea: As a Xeno you would be vulnerable to conventional weapons. Your goal would be eliminating the crew. To do that, you need to be stealthy and kill or capture the humans. If you are detected, you would need to make a hasty retreat and wait until their guard is down, then try again. If you get shot, it is game over- you only have one life. EXCEPT- if you capture two humans, you could take them to a hidey hole to egg morph and over time, a new Xeno would be available to continue if you get killed. You would also need to need to consume some victims for energy and you could just be sadistic and kill for the sport of it. Lots of choices.
Hmm...I do not see where to access subtitles.
That is fascinating on some different levels. This is a great video- thanks for posting. Someone did some serious homework and research here imo. It gives a lot to think about.
Just one gripe though: I disagree about the Prometheus characters in Part 2 - that was just bad writing lol!
LOL! you posted the movie while I was watching and wondering if translation was available. This is good stuff and brought memories of Dead Space too.
You have been on fire with these shorts, Ati!
I should've known when the space craft power shut down and restarted by the pilot banging a wrench against it. Still, I ignored it and took it as an alternative and original way of telling the story. We don't get POS spaceships in the Alien universe movies. They may be old, but the whole ship doesn't just shut down only to have it reawakening by some hard pounding on the main computer. I like movies where vehicles are POS and the actors complain about how much of a POS it is. Yet, the actor somehow makes the vehicle work and ends up doing what he/she was supposed to only because the character the actor is playing is just good like that. It's a way to force some humor in some epic scenes and what not.
I Moon Girl I thought the point was to build suspense and then pee on our parade at the end, reminding us to lighten up sometimes. After reviewing, the hints were in plain sight.
Very well made, yet I just can't get over the fact that the Xeno was just released and started heading for the kill. Then, it delivers coffee instead. Fabulous introduction, mediocre ending. I got excited for nothing. Oh well...
The Xenomorph was never scary. That was the problem with Alien: Covenant. Yet, I guess it's a parody, so the Xeno doesn't have to be scary. Still, the intro led me to believe I was going to get lucky and get some kind of alien-like movie, when in reality, I got an alien-related movie. Oh well I guess...
I came across this Draft on here before, having gave it a once over back then, even half way through i had my reservations about it being REAL, there are some Typos, there are some ways the Draft is laid out that is different to Lindeloffs style.
After i read it twice i noticed flaws that dont add up to the path that Lindeloff/Ridley Scott had with Prometheus, it conflicts some things and comments and it does not quite seem to add up.
It appears and i have to give RESPECT for this, that a FAN has took the time to Re-write parts of Lindeloffs draft, by adding some things Jon Spaights Alien Engineers alluded too, some of the various Fan Theories, and also connecting some Biblical themes and also the LV-223 being a reference to Leviticus 22 3
I think its a decent effort, but i would be 90% certain this is a Fan Edit, but it has some interesting things, some i dont agree with as clues in Prometheus and Alien Engineers and Paradise Drafts point me in a different direction, and also my theories dont match up with this Draft in OT
Thats not to claim my theories are Water Tight though ;)
I would recommend a read of this Draft, i will try and find it.
I think the studio behind the game would have had to have some back and forth conversation with the Project Idea, where it will be set and what it will be about at a time prior to the Disney Take Over.
I think maybe FOX can still operate under the Disney Brand, it does not mean no more FOX, just FOX will be a subsidiary to Disney, so Disney will have a lot of say, but it does not mean movies and games will be branded by Disney alone.. Well this is what i can assume.
Regarding to the HR Giger Rights, they would have to make a agreement with the Giger Estate, i am not 100% how much Giger Aesthetic they can or cant use. I would assume any Juggernaught/Derelict any Xenomorph, Face Hugger or Egg would NOT need any permission from the Giger estate, but i think they have to in the credits, credit Original Design HR Giger.
"you would be playing as a pretty much invincible foe"
I think it depends how you view the Xenomorph, some Alien Purest felt Camerons Aliens made the Xenomorphs just Canon Fodder, and Alien Resurrection and AVP movies likewise... But i dont think the Xenomorph is like some kind of Terminator.
The Xenomorph in Alien was in a environment that suited it, Imagine being stuck in a Lake with a Fresh Water Shark or Alligator that was 15-20ft and all you had was a Knife... Game Over Humans... but if the Predator in Question was in a Pool and you had Guns then its advantage Humans.
So certainly the Xenomorph should be more tougher than in Aliens, but i think if say Alien Isolation, Amanda could find herself in a Large Room with the Xenomorph just entering and she had a Pulse Riffle then provided she gets a lot of rounds off and direct hits i think the Xenomorph would indeed be exposed to a grave threat!
The great thing with ALIEN was the Crew knowing they dare not Shoot the Xenomorph because of the Hull Breach that the Acid would cause... So i think having a Alien game where you can play the Xenomorph can be made Challenging if faced with well armed opponents, it would be interesting if some good AI was added to the game, that in certain locations the Humans who could be armed with Weapons would have to think twice or even completely not attack the Xenomorph in certain locations due to the Xenomorph's Acid Blood... but this would be only enemies who have knowledge of the Xenomorph.
If you never knew what the Monster was and saw it run towards you and you was armed to the teeth you would not think twice about popping a few caps in its ASS! lol
I would be interested in a Game that allows you to control the Xenomorph as a Sub-Game but i feel a game would have to be about a Human Character, but also have a option to play a Xenomorph Campaign, because i think the Threat and Peril to a Human, would make the Experience more frightening and engaging as a Human.
Fingers crossed the Game does allow you to play a Human and a Xenomorph though, or similar as that would be interesting.
Glad you like it. Yes, he is flying a Weyland-Yutani ship, no doubt. :)
Great short, dk, Aliens fans will love it.
A rulebook is all very well but I’m personally not too keen on the expanded universe as it could keep polarising fans unlike the pure Alien experience Alien Isolation, which was destined to be praised and loved by fans of the film and by horror fans too I’m sure.
Speaking of A:I I think it will be rather difficult to topple such a masterpiece should this new game try to go toe to toe on the same merits, so another direction could in that regard help its success by differentiating itself from the standard FPS or 1st person stealth basics, whether it be by gameplay mechanics or by wildly different environments for instance.
There is a lot that can be done in 1st person view, not mention VR if that platform increases in popularity (i.e less cumbersome and equally goofy devices strapped to the face)
Hopefully the end result will satisfy most people and that’s all that matters.
Sounds great. Question, how does Fox have the rights to the game if they sold their Alien rights to Disney?
All text is very interesting insofar as translation, but all said, it does the job and I am grateful not seeing nor hearing things my lazy Yank sensibilities cannot comprehend. Still, it is worthy of a light chuckle. All good from my end!
pretty cool! The xeno's look pretty mean
I love how the English translation in the prologue lists one Helen Ripley lol
Wow, impressive! I already love this idea!
Uff... why they don't make Obelisk Crystal in Covenant? A big omission!
Agreed BigDave I would love to take a peek at this rulebook!
An open world exploration experience would be interesting! Something like the first Mass Effect
I would assume that they are referring to the 20th Century Fox studio dk...and that would mean yes on Disney having the rights.
MonsterZero asks a great question above regarding the rights to Giger's art. That sure would be a wonderful yes.
KingKaijuGojira There should be balance though yes? If you play as a Xeno as Alien portrays, you would be playing as a pretty much invincible foe. A game like that might feel like playing with all cheats enabled?
You Tubers have asserted that some CGI in this short was superior to AC. Strong words, but everyone is tough on YT. Still, I think the CGI here is pretty good.
Batchpool I could watch Sixty Symbols videos for an embarrassingly long time :)!
Does FOX have control over the game that much now that Disney has the rights?
So Fox is still alive? Disney didn't replace the lot?
I'd like to fly a Juggernaut!
And instead of being trapped on a Earth vessel...I'd rather be trapped on a orbiting derelict(Juggernaut) or a really large alien vessel.
Wonder if they have the rights to Giger's art?
I'd love to see Zombie Fifields. Zombie astronauts/cosmonauts are really cool.
This was from a fake script, not an official draft.
Does this mean there's a chance to play as the Alien? That's all I really care about. I could be fighting humans, Engineers or Neomorphs, I don't care. I just want a game where I can be a Xenomorph again.
