If the Engineers will be in this...
I would love to see a game that takes place on Planet 4, in the Engineer city. Where the player would have to do specific tasks around the city at night during a crazy storm, also while avoiding Neomorphs, and later the proto-xenomorph. Like BigDave said.
Oh, I haven't seen this version (with the nose) yet. Looks fantastic!

BigDave - They should have used all of them as the different stages of his mutation. This should have been the last one shown in the scene when he appears at Prometheus:

Check out my gaming blog tomorrow!
BigDave - Your idea should be used in a spin-off movie.
'...the first Alien game to be overseen by Fox'
That's a great piece of news, Ingeniero, thank you for sharing it with us.
Bigdave you should pitch that idea! It's great
Awesome Bigdave
I enjoyed Isolation very much. I think history will repeat itself though- like Isolation and the movies, it will not likely appeal to the masses no matter how good it is because the masses want super heroes and explosions.
I think indeed DK a game that has more Action than Alien Isolation, but is not a all out Shooter is certainly a good route to go, i feel a movie has to go the same route, a ALIENS kind of remake would not be as effective as a movie or game... compared to say...
IMAGINE.. Alien Covenant, was the Colonist arriving after David had left on a Engineer ship, so they just uncover all the Horrors left behind, were more Crew could be attacked infected with Xenomorph and Neomorphs.. So a game set after Alien Covenant where a Ship with a 8-12 crew lands on Planet 4 would give us a Survival Horror that has a bit of suspense and action.
@KingKaijuGojira
Indeed a game where we can also play the Xenomorph would be interesting, i can just imagine a more Survival Horror based game like Isolation where you play the Xenomorph... that would be pretty AWESOME
I think it depends on Budget and Detail, but thats a nice idea....
I think provided they work close with RS/FOX as far as the Plans for Alien Covenant Sequels... so as to not contradict anything thats planned...
Then a Survival Horror Type Shooter, where the Company sends a Mission to Planet 4 in the aftermath of Alien Covenant, would be a EPIC kind of Game if its done right with a Good Cinematic Story.
Imagine if the Ship was a Smaller ship like the Nostromo and it had been affected in the Storm and needed repairs, and then we have a crew of what 8-12 where some stay behind, while some go off exploring (includes the players Character).
This allows us to explore the Juggernaught, the Old City and those Dead Engineers, have someone infected with a Neomorph... Stumble on Davids Workshop and Xenomorphs. Have someone use the Black Goo Ampoules....
Recover Walter......
Then the Climax.... reveal hidden Synthetic and Agenda like ASH, and then returning Engineers.
I want to play as the Xenomorph. There hasn't been a game where you can play as the Alien in a single player campaign since Aliens vs Predator (2010). Marines and human survivors are cool and all, but I really enjoy the being the Alien.
They had many versions during Production, and even went as far as actually working on a few FIFIELD props but i think Ultimately RS had chosen the lower Budget Option (same with the Planet 4 Engineers) and we ended up with TOXIC AVENGER Fifield instead.

I think something a cross between the TWO props being worked on in the first image on the left would have worked very well, the CGI Fifield was ok, i think if it had a little more Xeno DNA it would have been better.
Imagine they (which they won't) made a free roaming game where you could take a cruiser to other moons and investigate some Engineer mystery for the Company while encountering various forms of xenomorphs alone the way??
Dead on Bigdave : 0)
I can totally buy the hidden Agenda, and Conspiracy and with the Plot Inconsistencies the Prequels open up, it means at some point after these movies that a Cover up and Conspiracy is at play (i think big reveal that AI is running the show).
So i think YES this applies to the events after Prometheus, what does Yutani know? and certainly 100% after Alien Covenant, well its sequel...
But and this is just my opinion, i think any kind of conspiracy etc linked to prior to the Prometheus Mission makes no sense at all.... not when we consider Peter Weyland, unless they go the route that the Older Peter Weyland was a Clone and a Cover up.... but still Prometheus would make no sense IMO
The discover of ARCHERON in the year 2039 is ambiguous to how much they knew... it would appear most logically they had marked this system down as a potential for Life, and worth exploring, but i would assume they also had other candidates too. But after Dr Shaw and Holloway submit their findings to Weyland i think he may see that maybe there is more than coincidence to their findings pointing to a System that the company had marked down as potentially having Life. And so with these TWO pieces of Information Weyland decides that a Mission to the System has a likely chance of finding something.
With the Re-writing of the Plot, with Alien Covenant the Weyland Site had been taken down because its information now conflict the NEW Plot that Alien Covenant has revealed... The Blu-Ray Extras also had a file to suggest the company believe that near by Moon of LV-426 may have more to offer at greater risk than the Moon LV-223 which Dr Shaw and Holloways findings point to being the prime destination.
So David was in-bedded on the Prometheus to keep a eye on the signal detected from LV-426
Again this could have been a Easter Egg, and not to be taken as 100% Canon, and i think with the Direction than Alien Covenant has gone, these extras NO longer have any baring on the background Plot.
Alien Isolation 2 with an option to play stealthy, action or combination of both would be fine with me.
I think the expanded universe opens up a great amount of scope for a Game, i hope its not to much of a Shooter based Game, especially if its about Eggs, Face Huggers and Xenomorphs and Queens... how limited its that? EXTREMELY a shooter can be fun and all that, but with limited baddies it would get repetitive. EGGS, FACE HUGGERS, CHEST BURSTERS, XENOMORPHS and QUEEN where the Eggs will release Face Huggers that will try and escape being shot, while also looking for the opportunity to Face Hug the Player, Chest Bursters attempting to escape the Player, and the Xenomorphs running up and killing the player, are very limited if its in context to a pure SHOOT-EM-UP
A good Plot/Story and Narrative can make a big difference, which is why Isolation worked, i think a Survival Horror Shoot-em-up is better, if we look at the Resident Evil Franchise and imagine if these games were done in the context of a Doom, were you just go around shooting hordes of Zombies etc it would be limited, but fun for a while.
The expanded universe allows us to discover the Black Goo and various Spawning Horrors, if they introduce Synthetics as a enemy too, corrupt Humans and then Engineers i think with a well written kind of Survival Horror Story i think would make a very interesting game.
Another Alien Colonial Marines, or even AVP game minus Predators would not be something NEW
It will be interesting to see where they can take this game and what it would be about, Isolation was a hit and good game due to it bringing in the same kind of jeopardy that ALIEN and ALIEN 3 had it was a interesting Formula.. Colonial Marines did not do to well, because it was basically just a SHOOTER but i think the Plot and Characters in the game just did not hit home as well as Alien Isolation.
I think this hits home with the Movies too, a Good Plot and Characters is Crucial for a Xenomorph movie, just as much as a Game, because there is only so much you can go around Shooting at Eggs, Face Huggers, Xenomorphs and a Queen... before it gets repetitive.
The expanded universe has opened up the possibility to add NEW elements and ideas, i think a GAME that is more of a Survival Horror like a Resident Evil/Silent Hill in Space and so similar to a Dead Space kind of Game would be interesting instead of the typical discover a Xenomorph Hive, and deal with hordes of Xenomorphs kind of shooter.
They were too worried about CA's Isolation not selling as well. It was a fantastic game but survival horror generally doesn't go platinum. Hopefully they could make another Isolation type but give more action or at least an option to play that way if desired.
Yup...cuz...'The Queen' is 'hard of hearing'....
@Critters5 I agree. Honestly I hope it isn't a complete shooter game we've had enough of those. I'd be fine if it was an Engineer as the main antagonist. I guess we'll have to wait and see.
Great points. Sounds like it will have Engineers etc. but also sounds like its going to be a bug hunt :o /
I would love an a Alien Isolation style game with the inclusion of Prometheus lore and rooms with bio experiments that come to life at attack a poorly armed character.
When you run out of ideas just re-post The New Disney princess above Dark Nebula. That is a scream.
The Peter Weyland of 1990's movies, Mr. Hadden from Contact.

My Precioooouuuussssssssss

Batchpool! PINHEAD. Yes!
I have to add the agile, the tough, and the expert of action!!!!!! JASON STATHOM!!!

Jason Stathom... YOU BELONG ON THE LIST!
Our first exchange was about flip-flops and scarfs Ati in the Holloway topic. I am still in awe of his pouting. I can pout and be selfish but he made me feel good about myself with that display.

I still believe there is a little mystery in the way he parsed his lips while entering the valley on LV-223. Lip parsing can make or break a scene and I think his parsing was perfectly timed and it added to the depth of embedded screens in the windows displaying patterns on the ground.
I would like to add respectfully that I believe this chap below wasn't unpleasant:

Very correct Ati.
The "Elizabeth Shore" came up for a second in the Yutani Quiet Eye technology cross reference.
Svanya Thanks for the embed!
Dark Nebula I just noticed your Engineer laptop screen- AWESOME!
Going to add my fav flute gif later... :)
Svanya, thank you!
BigDave - So true! I can tolerate the flute scenes in the two movies. However, I don't like those 'silly putty eggs' either.
